Ah heck, there was a favourite bands thread elsewhere. So, if I had to choose one person in the music industry that I had to pick as my favourite, would likely be Timo Tolkki of Stratovarius.

At least.... Pre-2004 Tolkki. After his nervous breakdown, nothing he made or wrote for his band was ever good. It was ostensibly good, but there was such a... Soul to his previous work. There was a message he was getting across, and so much passion was put into every song he made. After the breakdown, though, it was all just good-sounding shlock. =(

Hm, I've got many...
But I think my all-time favourites are Die Ärzte and Die Toten Hosen. I grew up with their music and used to love it when I was about three or four years old, and I tried to sing the songs, even though I didn't understand the deeper meanings of them back then. xD And I still love these bands, they'll always be somehow part of my life.
But I also like Saltatio Mortis, Schandmaul, Simple Plan, Skillet, Nightwish (the older songs with Tarja), and Lordi.
