Overall - 7.8
Nightmare on Elm Street was a great movie for the past decade. It was very good, but on this game, it is slightly bad for the NES. This game has 4-players in the game, which is pretty cool when you want to play with a bunch of friends. There are some bad things about this game and some that are just weird.
Graphics - 8
The graphics are very good. The part where it says "Freddy's Coming" makes it look scary. I really liked that because it was a scary wording. What was weird in the game is that when you fall asleep, you can change into yourself that has a weapon, but the weirdest thing about it is your clothings. It looks like you are wearing a tank top and panties. Freaking disgusting, but his moves are better than his original self.
Sound - 8
The sound is good too. The background sound is okay, the scary song that plays when Freddy appears is pretty cool.
Addictiveness - 7
I would play this often because like I said, it is a 4-player game and that you have a lot of lives in the game. What I did find out was that there is a limit in how much you die. I think you get like 5 continues and in those continues is 5 lives, so that is about 25 lives you have in the game.
Story - N/A
I could not find the story in the game, but in the game play, you are a person that is trying to stop Freddy and you have to go in houses and get bones to be able to fall asleep (sounds pretty stupid). When you fall asleep, you go to the end of the level in the house to verse him, then his hand, then his other hand, I do not know what comes after that because I got a game over.
Depth - 7
The game has basic features. When I said that a screen pops up saying "Freddy's Coming" it is like they took it from the game Castlevania II - Simon's Quest when it changes the day and night by a dialog box and stops your game for a few seconds. Other than that, the controls are just related to other NES games.
Difficulty - 6
The game is kind of hard. What I hated the most was that there was too many enemies in some of the levels. The most annoying thing is in one of the levels, the bats can poop on you (I don't know what they drop), which is annoying cause I was trying to get a bone and I couldn't because the stupid bat kept dropping doo doo bombs on me.
Wrap Things Up...
Nightmare on Elm Street was one of those games that was made because of how popular the movie was. I recommend trying this game, it is not that bad of a game, but is worth it if you are a fan of Freddy Kruger (might have misspelled that). Also, watch some of his movies, they are very good.
