Please, please, please, please, please, please, don't do this. Video games are bad enough. What happened to playing video games for fun? Now we may have to endure a bible lesson?

On, second thought... you probably could make a lot of money off of this. My youth pastor told me a quote once. It went something like, "Everywhere you go spread the word of Christ, and if absolutely necessary use words." That may be a good sort of theme to base it around. Maybe there would be no bible lesson involved just actions based around Christianity.

And there I go exploiting someone for money... eh, 'tis the way of the world.

I don't understand how someone can label their music "Christian" if it sounds like a demon is singing O.o Hardcore "Christian" Rock? pffft, that makes me laugh, the genre itself contradicts the "message" they're trying to send. I mean. . . how can it be Christian??? For YEARS rock music has been panned by the Christian community for having been evil. . . and now suddenly it's NOT? Someone please explain to me, WHY?

well, heavy metal and death metal are different. Death metal is more screaming etc. while heavy metal doesn't necessarily have that kind of tone/message. Also, Dave, that is kind of the perfect example of a person of most religions (well, that i know of)

Um, I can't exactly say I'm an expert on this subject, but I highly doubt that all Christian video games are nonviolent. They probably just aren't games where you kill other people or things like that.

Not really. If people don't like games that are based on Christianity or involve Christianity, people just don't have to play the games than.

We see Christian music selling all the time, no one has a problem with that. We see Christian movies, no one complains about that (usually not). We see Christian books selling all the time... I don't see how this would be any different.

I think we all have a really strict idea of what a Christian game would be like.

I think David is right.... there are plenty of other industries where things are labeled as Christian and do quite well.

Just because a video game has a christian theme doesn't make it a bad game to begin with.

But I do agree with Rasen that nearly every game I've ever looked at that was overtly Christian has been terrible. that doesn't mean they have to be.

And I would personally love to play a game like about the Israelites conquering Canaan/Palestine. I think that could be an awesome game!

I must say, a Christian RPG would be fun. The question is, how do you make sure it is? I think one neat idea would be to have you playing as a guardian angel. You know, and action RPG where there's more to quests than wandering around and turn-based battles. Maybe have you fighting demons or protecting humans. Sorta bring angels to life, like the Angel Wars video series, only a video game.

Sure it's that you are a god that goes around defeating monsters to make the land safe, but he has an angel in the town development mode.
So it's pretty much the same.

About what is said above about christian metal. Screaming or growling is not demonic and is not always about anger. It can be about despair, suffering, loneliness, ect. You can't tell me those things don't happen in a christians life. Christianity isn't all sunshine and roses people. Although I'm not christian i was at one point.
