I'm not afraid of death in the sense that it can happen at anytime but I'm afraid in the sense that I'll die and get sent to a place I definitely don't want to go....basically hell. If I could go to heaven if be fine.

DarkAngelSlayer : This one is a little hard for me. I do believe in God and have been trying to get closer to God more and more in recent years. Even when I’ve been angry with God I have vented my anger to him. I have also been trying to redeem myself from the screwed up teenager I once was. Based on the mistakes that I have made in the past it does make me afraid to a degree because I am still in the process of trying to redeem myself and make myself a better person. I hope that when all’s said and done that I will have redeemed myself not only in my own eyes but God’s as well.

Tough question, but Yes I'm afraid of dying until I'm in a situation where I expect myself that I'm going to die; then I don't fear death as I know I'm going to die. I'm worried about a lot of things if I die and I don't want to die not knowing what is going to happen when I die and how people are going to feel about my death (also not being able to comfort them).

I'd be lying if I said I wasnt afraid of death, I'm afraid of dying and I'm afraid of losing my loved ones. This is something that used to keep me up at night and I would pray that it would never happen and to protect my loved ones and their loved ones so my loved ones wouldn't be miserable. Over the years Ive thought about it less and less though, I guess I'm becoming more content with it and I understand I can't control it so why worry about it.

It does scare me a bit - because I suspect that when your body shuts down, thats the end.  I don't really think your 'soul' then drifts off in to another dimension or heaven or what ever.  Hopefully I'm wrong.

Everyone dies one day. I think it's important to do everything in your lifetime that you feel is important. And then, when the time has come, you can be proud of yourself and your experiences. In my opinion, that's the 'meaning of life'.

So, when I will be old and I know that there is not much time for me anymore, I think, I will not fear the death.
However, if I would hear I would die in a few months, I think I would become really sad and couldn't stop fearing death while my life ends.
But I think you should not think about death, as long as you are still young.

Perhaps that is why we are familiar with the saying "Only the good die young" Maybe they die young because they have completed their task in life early, and it is time for them to move on. I have died before, having a heart attack. It wasn't time for me to leave however, and my heart restarted when I was in the critical care unit in children's hospital. I use to be afraid of death, but now I welcome it with open arms. I'm not sure when my time will come, but when it does, I will be ready.

I would not call it a fear of doing because I know it is part of nature but sometimes I wonder how I would die and if there was somehow a new technology in the future that prevents you from ageing. But I sometimes get dizzy when I think about how long you would be death because it's not for a million years not for a billion not for a trillion but for eternity unless you are reincarnated otherwise you will just wither away as well as time.

I'm only afraid of death because of the community I live in. Car accidents, shootings, and beatings happen just a block or two from my house at some points. Whenever I'm forced to run an errand at night that involves me stepping outside and going out to the store, I always have this sense of fear inside me whenever I see some of the drunks or occasional drug addict walking around, completely unsure whether they're gonna snap or not and do something crazy (believe me, these things can really happen, and I would be more than glad to get out of this city as soon as possible).
