Davideo7 : That is good. There are so many SNES games I want to compete for high scores it, but alas. Can't wait. As for this contest, I am getting closer and closer. I am hooked on this game right now. It's going to be sad when class starts up again and I won't have near as much time to play

rcarter2 : Based on what I see, you won't need nearly as much time to play it considering you just more than doubled the previous high score. I'd love to know how you did it when the competition's over if nobody overtakes you.

sonikku : No problem. It is a good thing I was able to get that score because my classes start the day after tomorrow, and I wouldn't have 6 strait hours to do this. If I play one game on the java emulator for too long, I get that 'He's dead Jim' crash screens that closes all my browsers. It did it to me twice when I reached around 600,000 points, so that was 12 total hours wasted .

rcarter2 : I know how you feel. It took me five tries to get the winning score for Mega Man to finally post. Spent about a week on that one before it finally went up and stayed up.

I really hope your score stays. You deserve the win for the time you spent on this. And good luck with school.

sonikku : Good luck to you too. Just wondering, was the same thing happening to you with the Mega Man score that made you have to do it five times? If so, you have any idea how to keep it from happening?

rcarter2 : No, it wasn't Java. The Mega Man high score competition was during the time someone DDOS'd Vizzed. Those attacks, and at one point David restoring the saved scores, caused my score to either vanish or not submit.

There was also a case or two where the score rolled over to 0 points because I scored too high.

The best thing I could say about not getting the crash on Java is to get a better computer, but I don't know Java, so I couldn't say. ^^''

Man, I have been dreading this day. I am looking at the Thunder & Lightning page and the Trilla's Surfari thread like every 15 minutes.

Edit: Found another score reported lower than the screenshot total, though it doesn't change the makeup of the top 3 anymore than jl11181's screenshot score does. Seeing this, I'd like to propose something for future compeittions. There should be a check on the high score screenshots every now and then for games with competitions on them, especially as the competition draws closer to the end, and if a high score screenshot is made, it should be posted to the high score list immediately with the default 0 value until the user (or a RGR mod or David) changes it. (Since the date of submission would be listed as the moment the screenshot is taken, we would be able to see if someone's holding out on us.)

Think something like that is workable?
