I loved playing this game when I was a child! The controls aren’t that great but I was able to get use to them pretty quick. Almost all NES games with an Isometric view had the same controls; Up arrow is up-right, Down arrow is left-down, etc.

It’s got a very similar concept to the well known ‘snake’ game; you go around collecting balls to make your tail longer. Between you and your teammate, you must have enough balls at the end of the level to proceed on. The enemies are a bit difficult to destroy, most of them you can just jump on a few times, while others you have to hit with your tongue.

As the levels get harder (and they really get harder), the balls do different things on each level. 1st level they just bounce around but on later levels, they’ll do things ranging from spring around, fly around, run around with running shoes, swim around (on water level), etc. These things are very important though, because not only do they grant you access to the next level, but they act as your health.

Not only does it eventually get harder to collect balls, but it becomes easier to fall off the edges, get killed by spikes and enemies, and for the time to run out (that’s right, as with almost every NES game, there’s time).

Although this game isn’t as fun as it was when I was younger, it’s still a lot of fun, but don’t ever expect to beat the game, because I’m pretty sure that’s impossible. The last level is basically impossible, I tried so hard to beat it that I used Game Genie (equivalent to ‘Action Replay’ or ‘Game Shark’) to have unlimited time, health, and lives, and I still couldn’t beat it!

Graphics: 8
-I think the graphics and environments are what really make this game stand out, just has a fun look to it.

Sound: 9
-Before playing this game again in almost 8 years, I still could remember the music perfectly - most of it is enjoyable.

Replay Value: 6
-Once you've got the controls down, it's one of them games you can just pick up and play. However, once you've played it until probably 2 or 3 game overs, you'll probably not feel like playing it for a while. Let weeks (or months) go by and you can easily pick it up and play it again.

Story: 0
-The start up screen kind of fools you when it says 'Starring Rattle and Roll', makes you think there's a story line, but there really isn't any.

Game Play: 5
-Hard to get use to and the game is a bit difficult, especially trying to get the items and bonuses.

This game is pretty fun, I played it recently and it is very addicting. Good game

I said this part before in the high score competition page for this game, but oh well. This was one of my all time favorite games when I was a kid. But alas, we could only find places that rented it. I never got to own it. But I remember renting it at least 10 times and played co-op with my older brother. The farthest we ever got was level 8. I got farther here without using save states. I have done some reading about the final level, and I think I might know why the level seemed impossible to you (I haven't played it yet). The giant foot on the last level will quickly regenerate ALL of his health if you go a short period of time without hitting him continuously. Look at his color and to know if he is getting weak or restored himself. I think I'll go ahead and use save states to get there and see if I can't do it without Game Shark stuff. If I can do it, I'll take a snapshot. Haha. Maybe I should of tried to use this game in last months Hardest Game competition

Ah yes I completely forgot all about this game. I remember playing this with my brother when we were little....

I also did a little advertising for Vizzed in my description just in case anyone else ever watches the video. Also, I made 2 screen shots on the game page. One of me on the moon after beating Ice Foot. The other is just the ending. If you want to give it another try, here is how you do it. You  have to get strait consecutive hits on the foot without breaking the stream. If you so much as miss him once, he will instantly regenerate all of his health. That is why it is so hard. One thing I found out is that you have to practice pacing how fast you hit the 'z' key. If you are hitting it too fast, you will notice that sometimes your tongue skips a beat pretty often. Find that pace where the tongue has a nice consecutive stream with no skips. Then find a spot that where you are comfortable waiting for the Ice Foot to reach you and follow him. If you do it right, it takes about 5-6 strait seconds of streaming hits. Good luck
