Hey, that's a good idea, it widens the population of people who does play those games. 

I have a couple of ideas too- The ranks could have an anime/manga version too, like Naruto / Bleach. Heck, even TV seasons. I'm just throwing ideas out there on this thread =)

I'm glad you like the idea. I'm not really into anime but i'm all for more themes.

I would suggest Touhou because there are 70-something characters, but I don't think anyone would know what I'm talking about. xDKirby sounds like a good idea because there are so many enemies and powerups.

Tohou would also be a good theme, good idea.

yeah there are alot of Dragon ball &dbz characters
so that would be cool to see

Maybe some Sonic characters could be used just because it seems Nintendo games are the dominant theme of ranks. It would be nice to get some console diversity in the ranks.

Oh wow and to think I almost made this thread.

I think that there should be some street fighter up in here but I am fine without it. David is a busy man which would mean someone else would have to work on that, and that is not gunna happen.

When David has some free time on his hands he might be able to make those ranks happen.

Those ideas is seem to be good, but I myself created them like 2 times and one of mod just told me that at time right now, David is working on more important matters than improve the ranks, I sure that when he get time to do something for others to enjoy, I sure that he going add those, but it not going happen soon but later in year or 2.

Castlevania sounds like a good one. Maybe Kid Icarus? Punch Out? (start out as Glass Joe...LOL)

WE MUST get metroid but megaman and donkey kong would be good too

How about Marvel Characters? There are an infinite amount of characters and I'm sure there are plenty of Marvel fans here on Vizz.

YourMajestyKen : The thing would be hard to get sprites for all of them. Though we do have a creative bunch of people here one of us I am sure knows how to sprite!

billythekidmonster: That's true, I'm not asking for ALL Marvel characters...perhaps from a particular group of hero's like the X-Men and Brotherhood. Something like that would be great.

YourMajestyKen : LOLs summon fails are all right as long as I get the message. I guess that I also totally forgot that we could just go the MvC2 route. There are a ton of sprites on MvC2 and half of them are marvel. We could also use them from MvC1.

I've actually come up with a couple of rank set ideas a few years ago and typed them out. I was hoping to have them implemented at a board I used to go a while back but it was never gotten around to. Mainly because I never made pictures for them. One was for a simbattle board back in 2005 or 2006 featuring a bunch of different titles. The other was a galaxy space adventure that had names of different locations in a galaxy. However, this one was set up so that the ranks weren't in numerical order. But I don't know if the boards would allow it to be that way.

I had also intended to create a rank set based on members with 1000 or more posts, with the first rank being at 1000 posts. I suppose if I acquired pictures for these sets they could be of use for vizzed. It would be of good variety to have a rank set that with a theme of something other than a game.

I say the same thing to this that I say to every other rankset post...

I don't see it happening. It's extremely low priority.

As there are a load of types and i would love to see a Dragon Ball Z set that starts with the less known fighters or weaker fighters like Mr. Satan, Tien, Yamcha and Krillen

Then have the likes Piccolo, Goku, Vegeta, Frieza Forms, Super Sayain One Forms
Then To Androids, Cell Forms and  Super Sayain Two Forms
Then Buu Forms, Super Sayain Three and Super Sayain Four
Then End It With King Yemma and Kai's or put them elsewhere and end with the obvious Gogeta Super Sayain Four?
But personally I'd throw in Purunga then Shenron as the last two

But where there have been so  many good idea's maybe even suggest a month long poll and see if David responds to that if he see's it?
