I have an idea. You should do what Mimi did in Super Paper Mario. Put a mushroom on a chain, and make it look like there's nothing underneath it. Then when he gets the mushroom, the floor collapses, and falls into the lava underneath. I think that should take care of him.

Don't put 1-ups in your castles, don't make a "(Kill me now button)", Nor Axe.  Better yet, replace those catle doorknobs with fire bars! Even easier, you could just press the kill me know button while Mario's on the bridge instead.
