They spend their time on making games, they put a lot of effort into games, so I think they have every right to release the games there first.

Most of the time they put extras in the games we get and a lot of games were made there too (ex:Nintendo). They are pretty big in technology there and we should be lucky they are willing to share with us such splendid games.

It's because Japan is where the big makers are such as Nintendo and sega. Also Japan has the highest technology in Tokyo.

Most franchises such as Capcom, Game Freak, Nintendo and Hal Laboratory are designed and published in Japan first. Later, depending on the sales of the game, it is published in English and Spanish; and is sent to the Americas, then into other languages to Europe and Asia etcetera etcetera...For example, Boktai 3 and Rockman Exe Operate Shooting Star had low sales in Japan, therefore, they did not publish it in other languages and stayed Japanese. Not all games are released in Japan first .

It cost money and time to ship stuff, translate and even get rated (M+18, E) before it can get shipped into other parts of the producer's country (since this is a gaming site with Nintendo and Sega games all over the place, this is Japan).

The way you phrased the post is as if you were expecting a video game and then checked the website for release dates, and the Japan's date is coming oretty soon but your countries one is like a month later. I know how it feels to be waiting for a game...portal 2 D: .

Your all wrong, It's because the Japanese enjoy watching us writhe in pain as we loudly and uncalmly await the arrival of our favorite games. They could probably translate them and distribute them in half the time it takes...but they don't, and why is that? becuase deep down in their hearts, it is a plot to take over the future world!

Epic win, SilverMaestro. I like seeing the rare conspiracy theories that you guys come up with. It's not a matter of racism, I think it's just because first of all (as many of you have stated), many major game developers are based in Japan. Secondly, they use the Japanese release as a test run to see if a game is worth spending money on translating, shipping and rating. After all, the process is fairly expensive, and the companies can't afford to lose money on flopped games. Speaking of the translating, shipping and rating process, those things all take a while. In short, there are lots of reasons why we can't get our games at the same time as Japan, and it's not our place to be annoyed by this. I mean, it's better than no games at all, right? And just think of it this way: there are a considerable number of games that are made in North America, and Japan has to wait until after us to get the games. Assassin's Creed 2, for example, was developed in Montreal, and Japan had to wait one or two months after us to get it.
