Vizzed Ghostblood : That would be a fail against Loreli. Dr. Leggy told me about that.

Vizzed Ghostblood : Please don't spam in this thread, it's here to help people with their teams.
catfight09 : Your team is decent, although the fact that it's half Legendary bugs me. Your team is Ground weak, however, and in the current meta-game, that is a VERY bad thing. To top it off, a LOT of the good Earthquake users also have a good rock type move, making your best switch in, Dragonite, less effective. Here's my verdict: Electric and Grass overlap by a significant amount, as does Grass and Water. Having all three types on your team is pointless. Since you have three ground weaknesses (Not to mention that I don't care for Legendary Pokemon. ) Raikou's gotta go. In all honesty, I'd rather take out Celebi, since its horrible typing makes it hard to use competitively, but Raikou needs to go first. Team (1st Revision) Typhlosion Dragonite Celebi > Gallade or Medicham, preferably Gallade. (Optional) Raikou > Gengar, Mismagius, or Rotom. Your choice. Lucario Manaphy That's my first revision. It will take away your teams Ground weakness while adding a Ground immunity, which always helps. I'm recommending Gallade since it's typing is much better than Celebi's and it can learn good Psychic/Fighting moves, as well as Leaf Blade. The only problem is, its defense reeks, and it isn't the fastest Pokemon out there, though it isn't slow. When you train a Gallade, ALWAYS get one with a Jolly nature and have it knock out exactly 252 Magikarp BEFORE IT BATTLES ANY OTHER POKEMON. Don't ask why, just do it. It'll be better in the long run if you do. Of course, if you want to keep Celebi, it shouldn't hurt much, just keep in mind that its typing is flat awful. catfight09 : Your team is decent, although the fact that it's half Legendary bugs me. WarpStarFerret : thank you for the reply...
Celebi Raikou and Manaphy aren't permanent... and I'll probably substitute celebi for gallade. Since I highly like Gengar I'll substitute raikou for gengar. Would Gyarados be a better switch for my manaphy though? P.S: this is my Soul Silver Team that I used after I beat the Elite 4. catfight09 : No, Gyarados is not a good idea on this team. Typhlosion and Dragonite are already weak to Rock type moves, you shouldn't have three Pokemon weak to the same type. If you want to switch out Manaphy with a hard hitting Water type, then my best suggestion would be Swampert. It's a little slow, but it has incredible typing and it hits very hard. Just remember to get Adamant instead of Modest as a nature, and teach it all Physical attacks. Its Attack is better than its Special Attack. Oh, and although most Water types use Ice Beam, Swampert makes better use of Avalanche than Ice Beam, just for reference, since it's a little slow and it's a physical attacker. Oh, and when I said get a JOLLY Gallade and knock out 252 Magikarp with it before you do ANYTHING else with it, I REALLY meant it. You need that thing to be as fast as you can possibly get it. And don't forget to teach it Leaf Blade where the guy lets you make your Pokemon remember old moves; it 'learns' Leaf Blade at level 1. Oh, and teach Swampert Stealth Rock just to be mean. |

timolimo : First, I need a full team in order to critique it, and 2 Pokemon hardly qualifies as a full team. I need at least four Pokemon to start with. Second, this is a club forum. You need a minimum amount of posts to sign up for the club. The sign-ups and rules are here:
https://www.vizzed.com/vizzedboard/thread.php?id=24018 Both of those Pokemon share the same double weakness: Ice. That is NOT a good thing. You also need to consider using Pokemon and movesets that aren't focused entirely around offense. Teams like that are easy to beat. https://www.vizzed.com/vizzedboard/thread.php?id=24018 Both of those Pokemon share the same double weakness: Ice. That is NOT a good thing. dkmec20 : That team was discussed months ago. It's not a bad suggestion, but if you are going to post about a team, try to keep it more current. Also, read the post above yours for information about this forum and its rules. |

In case my notice in the opening post is overlooked, I'm now excepting Generation Five Pokemon teams for critique and review, since I managed to get White version. I'm still figuring out what's what in Gen. Five, but I know enough now to give advice on Pokemon typing wise at least. I don't know any of the new movesets, so don't expect moveset help on Gen. V teams, but go ahead and post movesets; I might be able to help with the movesets (Though my specialty is defensive typing), and it couldn't hurt to have them posted. |

epic-san : First and foremost, you have two MASSIVE weaknesses that you need to address:
4 of your Pokemon (Azelf, Hydreigon, Tyranitar, Reuniclus) are weak to Bug type moves. It doesn't matter how good your Pokemon are, you are seriously ASKING to get pwned by U-Turn with that many Bug weaknesses. You also have a glaring weakness to fighting, which is bad considering how many Fighting types are flying around out there competitively (Tyranitar, Lucario, Hydreigon). Suggestions: #1. RECOMMENDED SOLUTION Tyranitar >>> Swampert (Stealth Rock, Earthquake, Avalanche|Ice Beam, Waterfall|Surf) Azelf >>> Forretress (Toxic Spikes, Gyro Ball, Explosion, Rapid Spin) I know you want T-tar for Sand Stream, but he needs to go. He is weak to BOTH of your teams weaknesses, and honestly isn't helping much in type coverage. I'm putting Forretress in because you need a Physical wall, and Foretress ISN'T weak to fighting. Just having Reuniclus won't cut it, especially with so many shared weaknesses. #2. PLAN B Reuniclus >>> Bronzong w/ Levitate (??? Never used one, but I hear it's a good wall, and you seem competent on movesets) Tyranitar >>> Chandelure|Gengar (Purely offensive, I don't think you need advise here. ) This solution is if you hate playing defense so much that you simply loathe my other solution; Bronzong is a good defender, though I can't help you with the moveset. It should be VERY useful if you run into someone who has a Pokemon you can't easily beat. Chandelure and Gengar are both powerful Special Attackers that have a double resistance to bug, and only share a weakness with one other team member. Gengar is faster, but Chandelure hits significantly harder. If you want another solution, just ask. These are the two simplest fixes. NOTE: Both Bronzong and Chandelure resist Ice, which should help if someone throws an Ice type at one of your dragons. Also, Lucario doesn't really seem to fit in this team, but I don't really have a good reason to remove it. Just so you know. Oh, and you should replace Lucario's Nasty Plot with Extremespeed. Nasty Plot takes time, and Lucario is a little too frail for that. Extremespeed is very helpful for revenge kills and for finishing off Salac Berry users. 4 of your Pokemon (Azelf, Hydreigon, Tyranitar, Reuniclus) are weak to Bug type moves. It doesn't matter how good your Pokemon are, you are seriously ASKING to get pwned by U-Turn with that many Bug weaknesses. |
