The way I get passed temptations would be that you have to keep yourself occupied with other things such as games and so on and so fourth. also pray. that gets you through alot. well good luck

If you cannot easily resist temptations, then you need better friends you are always with you and somebody you trust. If you really want to leave you bad life in the past, then you need to make new better friends. It is always good to have somebody to back you up because then you can go to adventures and trips with each other. You then have somebody to tell stories and grow up together.

lol well it's not like I have bad friends... I kind of got into that mess myself. But yeah, it is good for someone to back you up though.

To tell the truth, I'm just so indecisive that the opportunity just passes right by me. I would think about it for the longest time trying to gather up the courage to do something but I eventually run out of time. So I guess I don't have any advice except for maybe think about it a lot. In my case, I'm just a scaredy-cat. Too afraid of the consequences.

NECROOOOOOOOMANCY! Bring in the priest. Bring in the nun. Bring in the pastor. We've got unholy things in this place.

Joking aside, I'll just beat this dead horse for the heck of it. I just ignore it if I don't give in. Ummm.... Yeah.

If the temptation is really strong, I find that stopping what I'm doing, and meditating for at least 5mins or listening to classical music does the trick. Both, especially the former, clear my mind extremely well.

If you mentally prepare yourself NOT to give into temptation..you won't.
It's all mental.......

I suppose it would depend on what I feel I'm being tempted by. I guess I would just try to get it out of my mind and think of something else, but that doesn't always work.

As my saying goes....I can resist anything...except temptation. LOL

I do my best to avoid it and move on, if I fail to fight it and give in, I repent and start over. The old saying,"It gets easier with time." It gets easier to avoid when you stand up and say no and don't do it, let something good occupy your thoughts.

Since it's something that's appealing, I try to view it as something that's not. This way it's always a choice whether or not to give into it.

If it makes you feel comfortable you can try to use your religion, however you don´t need any religion at all to resist temptation.

If the temptation is purely a self damaging one (like being tempted to eat fast food every day cos it tastes so good) it comes down to deciding what you want, for example if it was about eating fast food every day you should figure out if you are willing to sacrifice your health for the time being for the good taste of it, or if you are willing to sacrifice the taste for the good health (and in my mind both options are perfectly reasonable, we all indulge ourselves in unhealthy food from time to time, you gotta live life a little but not in such an extreme way that it starts to hurt you).

If the temptation is something that damages someone else to your benefit, like to steal someones coins, or to cheat the age limit on public services to get them cheaper, then the best way in my mind is to put yourself in the shoes of the other person, you may be tempted to for example steal some money for someone but then just think how you would feel if suddenly some of your money was gone and that you couldn´t do something you intended to do because of it, this is what we call a conscience, the ability to keep yourself from doing something selfish by acknowledging that you hurt someone else by doing it.

I turn to others before I actually give in to temptation. If they say not to do it, I don't do it. If they say don't do it, then I know I have to fight hard on my own to resist the temptation. Then I try to find anything that would preoccupy me and keep me away from the temptation.

If my temptation is really strong, then I just stop what I'm doing and lay on my bed while watching TV or something on YouTube on my iPod touch and then I usually forget about it.
