tgags123 : Nowadays it's watching YouTube videos. It used to be playing on my PSP/PS2/PS3, but I don't bring my PS2/PS3/TV with me to my college dorm and I rarely have time to play on my PSP. I also hacked my PSP which allows me to play emulators for the Sega Genesis, SNES, NES, N64, etc.

I also like to swim occasionally. My college has a swimming pool in their gym center. Sadly their open swim hours are only like 3 hours a day in the afternoon which is a pretty inconvenient time for my classes, most of the time.

Often I'm invited to my friend's apartment nearby my college, and I get to play on his switch which is great. We usually play very competitively in Mario Kart and I always beat him as Shy Guy and he uses me as practice. We also played Mario odyssey and Kirby star allies. Another one of my friends connected their laptop to their TV with an HDMI cable, and we'd play Smash 64 with an N64 emulator and USB game controllers. He also had an extra 3DS and we'd play Super Smash Bros for the 3DS multiplayer. Usually, nowadays I do all gaming with my friends in real life, which works well as I don't have to control my own urge to play if I owned a switch/TV in my room.

Barathemos : I live very close to (Content hidden from non-Trusted users!), so that's pretty hard to answer since I'm not unhappy with where I currently live. But I would consider California because of Silicon Valley, which has all the big name companies (apple, google, facebook, AMD, etc) so getting a job there and living there is like the Computer Scientist's dream. I have also applied to a couple of schools in California, and if I get accepted, then I'd get to taste living there as a Ph.D. student. (Man I really hope I get accepted)

I might consider Florida as well just because it's like a vacation spot, but my primary future career takes priority so California might be better. As for the entire world, that's the same answer as what I said to geeogree https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=101329&pl=1360493

My least favorite food is probably pineapple pizza. I never tried it but I imagine it'll taste so freaking nasty. (No offense, certain vizzed users here lol) Eh actually as I've never tried it, it can't really count.

I guess plain cucumbers is one of my least favorite. I love pickles but I hate plain cucumber. It's just dry and feels like a burden to swallow to me. I also hate salad in general without vinegar in a similar way, otherwise, I like Salad with lots of vinegar. Also, virtually all the foods in my college dining hall is my least favorite, just because the quality is so bad (even foods that are generally my favorite there tastes terrible, even the pizza). Pork is also my least favorite because it's not allowed in my religion. (ironically that includes ham)

geeogree : I would try to make myself care less about what others think of me, except for people who actually do matter. (eg. My boss, family, real close friends, etc) I would also try to be more confident. It seems that my confident varies based on my mood, like if I'm happy, I'm very confident. (otherwis,e I'm shy)

What really makes me angry is passive-aggressiveness without any reason. Then, when I nicely ask what's up, they suddenly turn into a completely nice person for a few days and they say I'm doing absolutely nothing wrong. Then, they return back to being passive-aggressive. (Content hidden from non-Trusted users!)

SacredShadow : The arcade game mappy, some off-the-shelf old PC games like E-games, Ultimate Game Pack, discovering some old and beta operating systems (betaarchive.com is a good go-to site, for example), Linux distributions, and probably a few more I can't remember. Though it's been a while since I looked at everything I listed, except linux.

I don't believe in aliens and ghosts.

I was once addicted to Sonic Mania for PC and Dissidia Final Fantasy for PSP.

Bro, how do you not believe in aliens? In the words of Lil Dicky, "Well the universe always expanding. There are infinite galaxies. Why would we be the anomaly?" Seriously though, there are BILLIONS of galaxies in the universe, you don't think any of them have any life at all?

I'm also interested in your thoughts on what happens after people die. I know your were raised Muslim, do you believe in the Koran's message about life after death? (Whatever that may be, I'm not too familiar with Islamic beliefs.)

tgags123 : That's a very interesting point to bring up, you might be able to convince me. But at the same time, there's a very specific list of atmospheric traits that must be met for life to be possible, I think (I'm no expert though, I could be wrong). Even if there are billions of galaxies, we don't know (yet) if the likelihood of having all the needed atmospheric traits is high enough to exist more than once.

Yea, I do believe in the Koran's message about the day of Judgement. Basically, everyone would be held accountable for all of their good/bad actions they've done while they were alive. At the same time, they can still seek forgiveness from God for any bad actions they've done and God is believed to be the most merciful (so they'd be forgiven for almost all actions if they pray to God for forgiveness).

If their actions are more good than bad, they'd end up in paradise, else they go to hell. How good paradise is or how bad hell is depends on how good/bad they were. But, if they believed in God while still doing lots of bad actions, they go to hell first for a very very long time, but eventually, they go to paradise afterward. If they're on the borderline (like equal good/bad actions), they'd still end up on paradise anyway because of God's mercy.

At the same time though, I'm not some crazy strict person. I still make friends with people of any religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation/identity, etc and I never shove this idea in anyone's face. I would only mention this if they ask me, otherwise, I'd stay silent about it. I still believe anyone should be allowed to believe in whatever they want and everyone has their own choice, which is the essence of a human being, free will. This belief I have about the Koran is just me acting on my own free will.

zanderlex : Yes, my username color is an inside joke. It's a mix between the newbie (white) banner and the default admin color. It's also the color of coffee but with lots of creamer/milk, because I love coffee.

geeogree : The motivation really varies depending on what I'm doing. For example, if it's a class that I find boring but am forced to take, my only motivation would be to just get it over with, while hoping it doesn't hurt my overall GPA.
But if it's for a project I'm really passionate about, like my Computer Science research, my main motivation is usually curiosity to discover more or make a weird solution that works. Sometimes my motivation might be to just make my parents proud of me (because I love them).

My favorite thing about my career, Computer Science research, is that it's like a mix of puzzle solving and creativity. The creative part is making your own algorithm to solve a problem of your choice, hopefully in a better/new way than what was already there. The puzzle solving part is fixing a bug within code, or figuring out how to make your own algorithm. These 2 aspects are like intertwined.

Furret : Flaming hot Cheetos is my favorite.

Least favorite is plain classic lays.

gamerforlifeforever : For now, it'd be the Nintendo Switch. Although I don't own a switch and neither a PS4, I occasionally get to play Mario Kart, Mario odyssey, and Kirby star allies with a friend on his switch and it's really fun. I have a PS3, but I seemingly got bored of it. So I would probably prefer the switch for something new.

Furret : Probably skunks because they stink. (lol idk what else to say)

Ok, so I have another follow-up question. You mentioned that "if they believed in God while doing lots of bad actions" they could still go to paradise eventually because of God's mercy. Does that mean people that don't believe in God or practice another religion cannot go to paradise? Or do you think that there is still a way for them to be forgiven? I remember having a conversation with a Christian user on here a few years back who believed that those that don't believe in God can't go to heaven, so I'm curious about your thoughts.

tgags123 : Quick disclaimer to anyone reading this: My only intention is just to answer the question honestly, and it's NOT to tell/force anyone to know/learn Islam. I still completely endorse freewill and that everyone is free to do what they want because that's essential to being human. (also I won't capitalize "not" every time) This took me a lot of thinking, but here's my best interpretation:

A non-Muslim might go to hell ONLY IF ALL 3 CONDITIONS BELOW ARE MET:

1. They have heard of Islam.
2. They have heard/studied the full, CORRECT meaning of Islam & it's message.
3. They have fully understood the meaning/message of Islam CORRECTLY.

If at least one of the 3 conditions above are NOT met, then that non-Muslim could still go to heaven. Let me explain with examples:

Person A, point #1 missing, which consequently leads to all points missing: "A" never heard of Islam but is generally a good person. Well, it's not their fault that they have never heard of Islam. They didn't disbelieve in Islam because they didn't even hear about it in the first place. Thus, A is non-Muslim but they can still go to heaven because of God's mercy.

Person B, point #2 missing: B is non-Muslim, a good person, and has heard of Islam before. B is curious to learn about Islam and learns about it only from unreliable, incorrect, or inaccurate resources (and let's say B didn't know those resources were unreliable/incorrect/inaccurate). For example, it could be a course on Islamic History only rather than its teachings, which is not going to always give the full meaning of Islam (or at least might not be easy to fully understand it alone). Or it could be a Muslim incorrectly explaining to a non-Muslim about Islam. Or it could be some Muslim-hater website saying Islam is bad. Well, B never understood the full & true meaning of Islam, thus B did NOT reject the true meaning of Islam. Thus, B is non-Muslim and can still go to heaven because of God's mercy.

Person C, point #3 missing: C is not mentally capable of understanding how Islam works, but is still a good-hearted person, and was provided with all the correct resources to learn about the true meaning of Islam. But C just couldn't understand Islam and rejected it. C can still go to heaven because they were not capable of understanding the true message of Islam. As a result, they weren't mentally capable of rejecting the true message of Islam. With God's mercy, C can still go to heaven. (I'm not necessarily saying C has to be stupid, but everyone has their own strengths/weaknesses like perhaps C is good at something else)

Person D, where all 3 points apply: D is very smart, has all the correct resources to understand Islam, and was able to fully understand the full & true meaning of Islam. Yet, they rejected Islam. Even if D is a good person, they MIGHT go to hell, because they rejected the true meaning of Islam. I say "might" because God is the most merciful and I'm not the most merciful, I could be wrong. Maybe D still misunderstood something, some weird situation happened to D that made him/her want to disbelieve (for example, uncontrollable depression that made him/her pessimistic about God and he/she wasn't capable of coping and maybe it wasn't their fault he/she got depression), etc, and God is all knowing so God can understand everyone's situation and might be forgiving. I can't really know beyond this point.
So given that God is the most merciful, God is going to be very reasonable with everyone including all non-Muslims. There could be ways it's not a non-Muslim's fault, it's case-by-case. I think it's wrong to say that all non-Muslims will go to hell because it is denying that God is the most merciful. Denying any quality of God, including mercy, is just wrong. Thus, some non-Muslims could still go to heaven.

Please feel free to continue asking follow-up questions (tgags/anyone), especially if something seems unclear to you. (and especially if I made a typo that could give a completely wrong meaning than what I intended)

Furret : My favorite sport is swimming, and I do recreational swimming. But I do not watch it, and I don't watch any other sport.

geeogree : (Content hidden from non-Trusted users!)

My favorite book is probably either "The Hobbit" or "A Sense of the Mysterious: Science and the Human Spirit", but it's been so long since I've read them I probably forgot most of it. But I do remember they were my most favorite books compared to anything else I ever read.

Some dark humor and very unexpected moments seem to make me laugh the most sometimes, I'm not sure why. It makes me feel very self-conscious as I only had 2 real life friends who understood why I find some dark humor funny. I often have to keep this a secret from most people around me (A secret in real life, but I don't mind talking about it here). It just somehow makes me reflect on this world. I can still be creeped out from dark humor at the same time though, it really depends. I do still feel empathetic and I sometimes feel guilty after I'm done laughing (if it's something really messed up). This is a part of me I don't really understand completely.

Barathemos : Yes, yes I do.

My favorite tag is (Content hidden from non-administrators!). Kinda varies on the context though. If I'm saying things about real life that I wouldn't want certain real-life people to know, I'd use trusted tags, for instance (like in my response to geeo)

Other than study, study, and study, I would want to visit someplace that is good for scuba diving and perhaps Japan especially to see a Dragon ball Z 4D movie. (and also see the dragon ball super Broly one whenever that gets released)

gamerforlifeforever : Thrillville Off the Rails for the PSP is probably my least favorite ever. It had a few good mini-games that were fun for only a few minutes but the actual main game itself is to create your own theme park which was so boring. (you might as well just go to a real theme park, a simulator on a small PSP screen definitely doesn't give any thrills lol) I used to own it as a kid then I traded it in for some other PSP game I can't remember, just because I thought it was that bad.

That was a really in-depth answer, appreciate it. I'm Catholic, so obviously I'm not asking because I want people to think they're going to hell for not being Muslim lol. I just think religion is a really interesting topic, and I think it's beneficial for me (and for everyone really) to have a better understanding of other religions.

Gonna take a break from the religious questions though, and switch to something a little less serious. Do you have any unusual talents?

tgags123 : Whenever I give a very long/in-depth answer, it means I really enjoyed answering the question. I felt very passionate and interested to give/express my best possible answer I could. Also, to anyone else reading this, just because my answer is short does NOT mean I didn't enjoy answering your question, I enjoy answering all questions.

I think my most unusual talent might be programming in Java or Python. In my software engineering class, my professor literally asked me for permission to use my answers as an alternative answer key for some homework and even the final exam. I'm really not joking, I can show a picture of the email as evidence but I won't for privacy reasons. (unless someone asks, I can maybe PM it with the name/picture censored but that's some picture editing work so I'll only do it if someone really wants to see it) Of course, I got perfect 100s and A's in my CS classes, but I should keep in mind that a 4.0 GPA isn't everything. Also, maybe my "unusual talent" might seem unusual relative to the school I go to at least, I don't know if it's relative to the whole world.

I also work as a programming tutor if that means anything, and I do have my first peer-reviewed research publication related to java which is unusual for a college undergraduate as most people first have their publication as a graduate student with several other co-authors, but I was the first author with the only 2nd author being my advisor and no one else. (see my answer to geeo about my greatest accomplishment)

I'm sorry if I seem like I'm bragging, I know that's annoying (I don't do this unless someone asks). But I have to answer the question honestly, lol.

Divine Aurora : Oh yes, yes I do. The good old days of the crazy mohamsandwich never ends I hope, but it kinda did but uh. Whenever I see you, I think back to 2013. Good old days, you really gotta be around here more often.

If you mean real sandwiches, some meatball sandwich with lots of mozzarella cheese and sauce is also amazing and very underrated in my book.

As for post sandwiches, I doubt that rule is a real concern anymore. Plus, the sandwich posting rule kinda limits discussion so I think that rule is unnecessary. What's wrong with people having a nice conversation in a thread? (as long as it's on topic or a good joke) I love post sandwiches.

If you could create and teach your own college class, what would it be about? Would you just teach computer science, or would you opt for something more unusual and unique?

What's something that you wish you knew more about?
