 Whether they change lanes or not becomes much more random at Level 3 Course 3.

 In Level 3 most bikers change lanes. They pretty much move over the white lines the same distance they were on the other side, a mirror image.

 S is the throttle and A is the break. You need to shift using up and down. I think it's easier to slow down by downshifting.

 Thanks guys. Technically you can get just over a million points an hour so this could be a 9 hour feat! Not sure if the game keeps going though. Hung on until level 4 course 8 this time.

 I see, you also get points when you pass people so the higher the level the more people there are to pass.

 Changing the level doesn't seem to give you more points just more traffic that change lanes more frequently.
