The Sims 2 (GBA) Skilled Review   Skilledtree
The Sims 2 (GBA) Skilled Review
Pre-Review
I haven't ever played this game until now, and was somewhat expecting a more.. "Sims" like experience. Turned out to be completely different, and it's not bad! When judging all aspects of the game, I took into account the year of release and what other games were doing at this time. I believe that this will make the following review fair and honest. For a video version of this review, please check the Vizzed Videos section of The Sims 2 (GBA).
Graphics
The graphics showcased in this game are great! I always like to find cons before pros, but this game did great. The walking sprites, still sprites, textures, theme, and the animations are awesome. They even do little introductions for the episodes, which is a neat touch. You may be a little surprised on how things react to you, which we'll talk about later. I tried hard to find something I didn't like graphics wise, but was unsuccessful in my mission to do so.
Sound
The sound is just as good as the graphics. You'll notice immediately that the soundtrack is unique and very good. Remember how I said that things react to you with the graphics? That's true for sound too, but I will talk about that later. All sound effects are done very well, and it fits the theme perfectly. An often overlooked feature for the day of the handheld was the ability to change volume levels (lower music, higher SFX, etc). This game provides the choice to change these values, which is ironic since it's one of the game I wouldn't change the sound level for.
Addictiveness
The game features multiple levels, about 16 base levels in all. They can also be changed with plot twists, for enhanced replay ability. The episodic set up allows for a person to play a few episodes at a time, good for the "on-the-go" mission of the time. There's a good amount of unlockables and what not, to keep you motivated to keep coming back. I'm not sure that I'd play the game again after beating all episodes, but I can definitely see how someone would be interested in doing so.
Depth
You start the game, and you create your own character in typical simulation fashion. You pick your aspiration, and you're thrown in there. The game has many different unlockables for different things. Social interaction can be influenced on what you choose. For instance, being friendly will work on some, while being intimidating will fail miserably on some. Sometimes the unlockable emotes will be more effective than others. There's hidden items to be found, and all around a good amount of secrets to figure out. The story itself supports the depth, and really works well with everything that goes on.
The characters themselves have depth, and feature different personalities! You'll interact with people who love motorcycles, a guy who refuses to move from in front of your house, and the occasional alien on of course. Each of them can be interacted with in varying ways, making the encounters unique.
Remember when I said about the graphics and sounds interacting with the player? Just to show how much depth this game actually has, they added pretty neat things. When you walk on the street, you'll notice pretty early that the birds will actually react and fly away. When you walk near the bar, you'll actually hear the electricity from the sign. There's many more examples, but these are early ones you can relate to noticing.  These add to the immersive and stunning depth the game provides.
Story
It will start off crazy. You'll be thrown into the game, quickly finding out that you're actually on a T.V. show. Yes, you're a star, and you're the only one who knows you're actually being filmed. You'll be told by the director certain objectives, or as the game calls them, "plot points," which will lead you through what you need to do. Your goal is to find secrets, do the plot points, and earn great ratings! Think of the rating as your score, which can also be used to purchase new emotes, plot twists, and more! It's hard to talk about too much without spoiling, but the story is solid and wacky. It works, even if it's nuts.
Difficulty
The game is actually difficult for me to rate in terms of difficulty. It doesn't feel difficult, but it may require you to think once in awhile. The game is explained well, and you have a good general idea of what's going on at all times. If you're playing for fun, it would be easy with a touch of difficulty to provide a bit of challenge and reward. If playing to complete every aspect of the game (perfect ratings?), then yeah, it may get a little more difficult and/or tedious.
Conclusion
This is not the same game as the Sims for your personal computer, but it is still a fun game. I'm almost a bit disappointed I didn't get this game as a child.
The graphics are fantastic, can't find anything to complain about, therefore it's an easy 10.
Graphics: 10 / 10
The sound is very well done, especially with the little effects sprinkled throughout the game. Soundtrack is great. Even gives you the option to manage the sound volumes! It earns a 10.
Sound: 10 / 10
It definitely provides replay value for those who seek it. The unlockables may cause you to want to keep playing, and will offer incentive to come back for sure! I can see someone playing the game many times. I personally like the episodic system, but at the same time I don't know about playing certain missions again.
Addictiveness: 8 / 10
There's depth. There's a lot of depth. It's literally everywhere. It's in everything. It's a 10. I don't know what else I could summarize on depth.
Depth: 10 / 10
The story is wacky, but it works very well with the game. It makes sense (sometimes) and the story is essentially the game itself. Without the story, the game probably would make almost no sense at all, which is a good thing (the story did its job). Episodic system was great for the play-on-the-go mission of the time, and overall it's well done. It's still crazy, but well done.
Story: 9 / 10
This game's difficulty really won't have an effect on the overall score, simply because I couldn't figure out what I should value its difficulty at. I found it easy but with a slight challenge for balanced game play. I'm dropping a 6 because I feel like that's where I'd land at if I thought about it for another hour.
Difficulty: 6 / 10
Overall, the game was surprisingly fun. No seriously, I was surprised I had fun playing this. It had many different cool things, animated cut scenes, episode introductions, variable game play, the works. Not much bad to say about the game, so we'll give it a 9.5 / 10.
Overall: 9.5 / 10 (Boosted score from 9.4 to 9.5 due to story being a debatable 10)
If you're interested in trying a game that is completely different from the rest of the pack, give it a try! If you want a reason why, read the review again. It's good. Thanks for reading Vizzed!

The Sims 2 GBA Review   Bintsy
I have played so many different versions of the Sims 2 but GBA is quite interesting yet the same compared to one
of the most recent ones I played which was the Nintendo DS version. I have really enjoyed this game on almost
all different kinds of systems whether it be PC DS PS2 GBA... all of them have been pretty good. GBA version is
quite more interesting compared to the DS version in my opinion. There is parts I don't enjoy though which don't
counter act as a great game to me.
Graphics : (9) The graphics are really edgy compared to other versions. They have a unique sense of style and
I liked it more compared to the other versions of The Sims 2 Game. This game is a newer style of game in graphics
compared to the DS version especially. I was quite surprised at how many similarities and differences both games
have. Maybe it's because it's less cartoony or it comes off more as edgy and proficient. I am a huge fan of Sims
2 games and graphics is one of the whole reasons why I like this game so very much. Sometimes I wonder what it
would be like if EA would put more older style sims games out there. Even I can come up with different kinds of
styles and gaming that would be pretty awesome with the Sims 2 incorporated.
Sound : (7) I really like the sound of The Sims 2. It's not annoying and it's not too loud. It's quite peaceful
to me and I could listen to it for hours at a time without being annoyed or aggravated by it. I rated it as a 7
because they could of put more unique kinds of music that would open up to more of an audience and would attract
more costumers maybe. Overall the sound is very great just as it is and I wouldn't change really any of it if I
had a choice to do just that.
Addictiveness : ?(9) Wow! This game is very addictive. There is so many games I could be playing or interested in,
instead I find myself back on the Sims 2 almost every day whether it's this version or the many others they
have. I can spend 30 minutes and have to do something in the next hour just to find myself late because I got
so into the game. It's quite interesting how my mind works and once I get to doing something I really love, it's
all over, and I don't do what I actually need to get done until last minute. This game is probably in my top 3
of most addictive games.
Story : (5) There is not much story to the GBA game, I was quiet disappointed in general because it took me just
a couple of hours maybe half the day to actually finish the entire game. Honestly, I feel they could of put a lot
more detail into the story. Especially the ending of the story is a turn off. If I had to recreate that game
I would put so much more story into it, instead of a short story. Besides everyday sim things like needs, wants
and the actual Sims story which is very little there is not very much to this game.
Depth : (4) The depth of this game is very small. It has interesting little 'talking to another sim cut scenes'
but the entire game doesn't have a lot of detail and long time game play. After you finish basically the story
part of the game your depth is gone. You can still take care of your hotel and stuff but once your game is over
the depth is gone and I am very VERY disappointed in this. EA could of done so much more with this game concerning
this area.
Difficulty : ?(6) This game is fairly easy to me. The story gives details on what part of the mission you should
do next and it's not hard to grasp in all. I wouldn't say that a lot of people would catch on really fast unless
they were already familiar with The Sims games.
If your a SIMS lover, you will love this game but only if you want to play it sometime on the side or just
something to do if your bored. It's not a game that you would want to play 24/7 as it's not very long in story
and depth and I wouldn't recommend this game if your not looking for something to do on the side for fun.
If your looking for a long time period of game this game is not it.
I still love this game it was fun while it lasted and times I even go in and re play the game that's how addictive and fun it is. I hope you take the time?to play this as I enjoyed it quite well.
Anyways,
Bintsy<33
EDIT : BTW I Typed this on notepad first just for security so I wouldn't lose all of what I typed and when I pasted it and posted it , the text came out weird and I'm sorry about that. I fixed my first review and this one didn't turn out like that anyways.. hope that's okay.

The Sim's on a GBA?   Melancholy
I have always wondered how a Sims game would be on a Game Boy Advance and lots of other people are probably wondering the same thing.
First, you create your character. Unlike other Sims, you are controlling the Sim, they aren't the CPU this time. You are a star of a Reality TV show where you travel to towns and set up pranks like alien invasions. You just moved to this town and start in the basement, your director talks through a speaker in your ear and tells you to go upstairs and introduce yourself to your neighbors and buy some furniture and stuff like that. The storyline is unrealistic for what it's trying to be but, can be easily ignored. At the end
of every episode, you can buy quite a bit of stuff, like a motorcycle, actions when socializing, or new plots for episodes. The storyline is great and very unique.
Gameplay is very much like any other Sim’s, Socialization is the main thing to do in all of the Sim’s. This Sim’s you run into problems during your plot such as one point you need to go to the bathroom but there’s a Martian sitting on your toilet and you have to yell and insult
him to scare him away. Other times you have to make friends with someone.
Controls are fine and you probably couldn’t improve of them.
Graphics are nice for a Game Boy Advanced game and animations are great. It’s kind of fuzzy but probably couldn’t be improved. Very colorful game but kind of tacky and overused colors.
You can buy items for your house during plots but I find your house always barren and a maze no matter how long you play. The furniture isn’t to great and they usually sell 4 furniture items per plot. I found Mostly showers.
You can hold items in your inventory and use them later in the game, like a shovel.
The game is Crazy “Child Humor” But at some points I still found the events hilarious. This game isn’t based on comedy but is just shy of coming in that rank
I find the characters are, well… not always in “character” all the time. At one point they will be all mean and grouchy, the next plot they will act all nice and innocent and this confuses me sometimes.
The mini games have a fun concept. You have to record a commercial for use while your TV Show is on air. You advertise soda once by playing a game where you have to run from a giant soda monster while drinking your soda occasionally so it won’t fizz out and explode. Or show off a sports car by driving it around on a course. The better you do for the commercials, the more Money you get.
Overall, This game has a
very unique storyline unlike any other game I played, a great concept, nice
graphics and animations, great humor for young and teens, awesome mini games, overused
colors, and poor house customization.
Recommended for fans of Humor games, and people with no social life… J/K

Sims 2 Gba   jts0424
Let me just say this was the first Sims game I ever played that I would have to rate low let me go over why.
Graphics: I gave graphics a 3 because they were not that good. I know most gba games on vizzed are like that but I seen gba games graphics that are much better like for example fire emblem or even better golden sun. Those are gba games that have good graphics or should I even say great graphics why cant the sims 2 gba have great graphics like golden sun and fire emblem. But as everyone knows graphics don't make a great game the story and game play does but we will get to that soon.
Sound: I gave the sound a 5 because it was ok. That's all I can say for the sound it was just ok. Sorry guys.
Addictiveness: I gave the addictiveness a 4 because it just didn't get me to play very long. I lost interest in it after 10 mins of playing it. If I can only play it for 10 mins then I'm definitely not gunna repeat it again. I'm not sure if anyone else likes this game. If they do then that's there choice. But I certainly wont.
Story: I gave the story a 2 because it wasn't even a story. It was just a bunch of episodes in a game which has you in a reality tv show thing. I mean come on if you are gunna make a game into a rpg then do it right and have a actual story line not a bunch of episodes.
Depth: I gave depth a 3 because it didn't give me a lot to do. Just like I stated in the story review of the game it was just a bunch of episodes. The game didn't have lots of customization for your sim which is odd because the sims games has lots of customization stuff in there other games. Why not this one. Makes you think doesn't it. This game just didn't have a lot of depth in it and it wasn't to much fun to play either.
Difficulty: I gave the difficulty a 5 because it wasn't to easy but it wasn't to hard to play. It was really just overall boring and not to interesting

Sims 2 GBA-Not the same   Blue_Dust
Many here were positive,I'm not! When I played Sims 2 I was expecting something amazing like in Sims Bustin' Out,what I got was crap.....
Graphics are good. For those who don't know they don't shape the game and so I give the graphics a good rating just because they were good.[8]
Sound was good too.Again I repeat but with sound instead, sound doesn't make the game.Sound was good so I'll give it some score too.[8]
Addictiveness wasn't that much. The game just lost it's freedom once I played it.I was stuck choosing episodes,I don't want that. The more episodes I saw the less interest I had in playing it.It's replay value is just bad.Sorry, not what I expected from this.[5]
Story was somehow not that much.Ussualy all the Sims GBA games have a nice story where you're new in town etc...I didn't see that here. The story is just too simple, you're an actor doing some TV show and that somehow doesn't seem that interesting, maybe they should've left it the way it was in the previous Sims games.I'm sorry but I'm giving this a really low number.[2]
Depth is not big.For a Sims game it's rather really small and doesn't give you enough freedom.I get you can re-play the episodes but I don't want to select any of those. The thing I crave for is to do whatever I want without being limited by some episodes or such.[4]
Difficulty is just silly. For me it's a weird hard easy way combo on the episodes.I just can't decide if it's hard or easy so I've rated it low.[3]
I don't know what happened to this game but whatever did was awful and ruined it!

A okay GBA game with the title "The Sims 2"   pi0x
Even thought that this version of the Sims obviously doesn’t quite match up to the PC versions of the game play in most aspects, none of the hand held remakes of the Sims games do, It still brings a fairly nice atmosphere of the Sims to Gameboy. Although they could have added some differences to make it more likes the PC version. Such as the story, now I don’t know why almost all hand held Sims games have a story to them, but they do, the Sims is supposed to be about doing whatever you want, making your life the way you want it to be.
The thing I do like about this game that is way different from the PC version is that you actually get to control your sim, instead of the point-and-click style, which only really works for the PC.
I really don’t think that the title of the game should have been the Sims, as it really has nothing to do with the Sims. The Sims is a life simulation; this is more of an adventure game with a few qualities from the Sims.
Overall this game is a semi-fun game to play if you’re bored, but it’s no real Sims game. It has nice qualities like its graphics. They are GBA graphics, but they are pretty good for GBA 2005 :P. It may not keep you entertained for hours on end, as it didn’t for me, but it’s really not a half bad adventure game with the title “The Sims 2”.

??? this is not the sims   rnfoxtrot
Let me start and say that this is not Sims, you Mack a good game like the Sims and make a RPG out of it and is end up having no fun at all.  Now on to game it self, the graphics and sound are the same for most of the GBA, Game Boy Advance, so I rate it a 5.  This game can not make me stay up to play it so I rate the addictiveness a 3.  Now the story and depth is going to be a 4, I can't give this higher for that the Sims should not have story!!!  Now the game is a 3 in the difficulty and that is all I have to say.

Well, think about it. The sims games were originally for adults. This is a kid's game, so naturally, if you like the PC games, you won't like the GBA games (this one, at least).
