Breath Of Fire! wicked-pyper-le..
Long ago in time before Halo and Diablo 3 there once lived a great video game with epic adventures and heroes, this game was called Breath Of Fire. While living peacefully in your little village your suddenly attacked by dark dragons who wish to take over the world! You must roam the world and gather the goddess keys with some help from some very faithful companions. This journey is long and treacherous, you must be careful and stocked with health potions and other essentials. This RPG is one of the few that I would suggest to most if not all of my friends, its both an old game with a new kind of feel to it. Overall I would give this game out for free just to let everyone see its awesomeness. Over my many years of being a gamer this is only the 2nd RPG I have ever played, its also the oldest. With that said I have played many games with mega awesome graphics and even though this game is old it has some pretty good graphics. Running around in this almost mid evil landscape you see oceans and lakes, tons of mountains and even some animals which of course are still fake. Although the graphics could be a lot better maybe one day soon they will remake this game to its full potential. For once in my gaming career I actually listened to the music in a video game and enjoyed it! The music choice for this game was amazing and I love how it changed after ever place you went to and even while running around in the wilderness. Listening to this music was both experiencing and even amusing at times. I would if I could re-listen to soundtrack of this game constantly if my brain wouldn't explode first!! Playing a game more then once gets pretty boring and annoying if the game is short or just really sucks. However this game I could play again maybe not over a small period of time but regardless it is a game that has a high addictiveness. Breath Of Fire just has the certain something you look for in a RPG ( depending on what your looking for) that makes it most entertaining and exciting. Is a game any good without a story line? NO!! Every game needs a story line to make it stupendous no exceptions and even though this game isn't complex when it comes to a story it is still great one to play. Your main character Ryu ( actually character name) must stop the dark dragons from taking over the world with 7 friends, with there help you journey across a mystical land helping random towns and getting stronger for when you finally go up against Zog (main evil dark dragon). It's a wondrous story line and even though the other games don't really go along with the actually story and just the main character I feel that it deserves your attention when you play. Some games have most to nothing to do other then the story line which can be boring especially if your having issues moving forward. To say that this game has tons of things to do other then the story line would be a lie, your basically just going from town to town and sometimes a detour but its a basic game style. There are always battles to have plus you can hunt some deer and boar which helps you during battle also you can fish which can get you some pretty sweet items. Besides all the good qualities to this game there is one downside to it, not that hard to beat if you know what your doing. I beat this game with my whole team at level 25 even though most guides said I needed to be at level 34 or higher or I would have some serious difficulties. Don't get me wrong this game is hard at certain times and does take some training to get past some parts so be careful and don't underestimate the depth for which this game brings. Hard games that are just too difficult to beat are annoying and should not be aloud to exist!!! Just kidding, but seriously playing a game that seems unbeatable can be painstakingly horrible for the gamer so I can say that this game is hard but not that hard. Getting the controls down can be somewhat of a challenge if your not use to these types of games but they can be picked up pretty quickly if you pay attention and focus. Difficulty is one of the main things I look for in a game, if its too hard then I may pass but if it's too easy then I see no point, this game has its struggles and some pretty simple parts to it but I say anyone can play this so long as they don't take this game lightly.

Amazing petpepper
I LOVED this game. Once I started playing I couldn't stop. The story was very good and interesting without having hours of dialogue. One thing that I did not like about Breath of Fire is that without a guide or FAQ it is very hard to know what to do next sometimes. For example, finding all of the dragon shrines in order to get the hero's dragon forms had to be done in order to defeat the last Boss. There was not always a clear and direct place to go and that is pretty much the only thing I disliked about the game. For a game of it's time it was amazing to see the cut scenes because most games from this time did not have the potential to do this.

Breath of fire Review rka0917
Breath of fire is a good and fun rpg,but it has it share of huge flaws. For me personaly, combat was never a problem, i never felt like my party could die(which they didn´t) or got myself into though obstacles. And some things you´re supposted to do are never self explanatory. It can get really confusing and for me, almost immpossible to know where i´m supposted to go without a walktrough online. And if you´re like me and played bof2 you really get confused at the functions in the game. But overall it´s a fun game and i enjoyed the character design(even if ryu and nina are pre-teens or something).

Breath of Fire Deadend136
Summary: So you are the main character and go on a quest and complete
puzzles. As you complete different quests you recruit more team members. I know
it is a pretty basic RPG storyline but regardless I would definitely give this
game a go. Graphics are really not all that bad, the battle style is almost
identical to the Final Fantasy battle style except it does not offer as much,
for the first time I would have a spare online strategy guide just in case you
forget what to do if you do not play all the way through at one time otherwise
it is very straight forward.
Graphics and Sound: 7
The game’s soundtracks are all original and not that bad. With the sound
you will either love it or hate it or just will not have an opinion about it
like me. There is a wide variety of basic enemies as well as bosses all with
great and original sprites. I personally love how this game put the sprites
together as well as your party’s sprites. So graphics and sound is better than
the average game on this console and in some cases really well put together for
games in general.
Addictiveness: 6
This game is a love it or hate it game. You will either love the battle
style or you will really hate it, you will either love the graphics or you will
hate them, and you will either play the game over right off the bat after
beating it or you will never play it again. Personally I play Breath of Fire 2
about once a year but I could care less about this one. I am a Final Fantasy
fan and to me this game series is a knock off that does not offer as much so I
tend to give Final Fantasy games another go before I even think about Breath of
Fire. Since not many gamers I know are middle ground about this game as I am I
would have given the addictiveness a 5 but I have found that many gamers have
enjoyed this game and even used the word “classic” when talking about this game
series so I rated this game a 6 for addictiveness.
Story and Depth: 7
The story and depth for not only this title but the whole Breath of Fire
series is extremely similar to Final Fantasy even though it takes not as much
time to complete this title and you do not really need a strategy guide. Now in
my opinion any game that can be compared to Final Fantasy deserves to be given
a shot just because I personally love all the stories throughout the series and
I also love the battle style. Story and depth in my opinion deserve a 7 only
because you could tell it is a knock off of another game series but many
aspects are original and fun to see.
Gameplay: 7.5
Difficulty: 7
This game is an RPG game so it will take you a few hours or a few days to beat the game the first time through. You will not need a strategy guide if you pay attention since this game is very straight to the point. The puzzles can take a few minutes to figure out and if you do not stay on top of leveling before the next area/quest you will have a harder time. Also you may need certain characters to defeat certain bosses easier so you will need to make sure you level up all your characters a couple levels at a time.
Overall: 7
Why or why not I would suggest this game:
If you enjoy the original Final Fantasy titles then
this game is a must play. Every game has a cheap knock off of it but I have to
admit Breath of Fire though it is a knock off of Final Fantasy it is still
considered a classic on its own to many gamers. Leveling up with the space bar
is easy and you never have to worry about over leveling because after
completing quests/missions you recruit more team members. If you have never
played any Final Fantasy titles I do suggest as a gamer you try this game out
first since they are both very similar but Breath of Fire’s gameplay is more
simple and offers a little less to the player.
