Tournament of Legends Review by: Barathemos - 7.1/10

Tournament of Legends! ( Wii )
Tournament of Legends- A review by Barathemos

First I want to say that my 1 key is broken, so you may see a good number of 1's here. I hope that you don't mid that much. I hope you like it! So, I bet only about 5% of you guys know what this game is. Well, I own it. And it stinks.Well, it is not that bad. I am about to go into a review, and let me warn you, you will hear some things that will make you not want to play this game.

Overall: 7.1
Yeah, like I said, this game can get a lot better. It can be quite fun at times, and can also be a big lame time. If you want a game that you can sit down and play for hours at a time, I would not suggest this game. Go play Pokemon or something of that sort. But if you want a game with almost no story, honorably terrible controls, and special moves that will make you break your wrist trying to figure out, then this game is for you! I am being serious, the game takes forever to learn how to do and it really doesn't have much to it at all. I am not telling a lie. The game is bad, bad, and badder. I have looked at the price for it at gamestop, and it is worth about $5 and that is way overpriced. My brother got it from one of his friends for free. No wonder they wanted to give it to someone.

Gameplay: 5
Yeah, no. The gameplay for this game is just like the game, probably because it is the game. All it is is a fighting game between some Roman gods using really slow controls and annoying sound effects. I will say that the game is super fun when playing multiplayer and it is a pretty fair match up. But the rest, is bad. the story is OK. It is a little short and easy up to the point of the boss, but I will get into that later. Right now I am just summing up gameplay which again, hurts me to talk about. It is really not a game that I wanted t review. But, I wanted to rant about it so you got this review. Enjoy the rest!

Graphics: 8
This is, sadly, the best part of the game. The rest I must say does not work out for this game. The graphics are pretty good with some nice parts to them. If I were to rate this game on a harsh scale compaired to all the other games for the Wii in the games time, I would give it a lower grade, maybe a 6. But remember, that 6 would be being very nice. Now, the game isn't a big blur so you can see it pretty clearly and the characters are written with some pretty great code. There are just a few things that are wrong with it such as the blood. Now, I don't really want blood to be in any of my games, but the blood here is so fake it is even funny. ( It is funny for only a minute, until you realize it is coming out of you ) The movements of the characters are not very good either, they are slow and have drag. There are some things that I don't want to be in my video game, ands slow movement is something I just can't stand. I want a game that is moderate, not something that is way too slow and also nothing that is way to fast. Those kinds of games really get on my nerves. Now, the backgrounds are OK. They have a good central idea for them, but they don't pull it out the right way. Do you know what I mean? I mean that they didn't put enough effort into them so it looks not so great. Sure it is quite colorful and interactive, but it is a disapointment to see what it is completed. I have tried every setting, just none of them look the way I think they should. They all get me in the start, but then kill me at the end. Now it is time to talk about the attacks in more detail. So, with every different character there is a different set of attacks. Overall for the attacks, they are the normalslow and choppy with only a few exceptions. One of these exceptions is, wait for it........ The Mongles. ( I can't believe I just used that ) Now, the only few exceptions are indeed very very fast. Now what really gets to me is that the ones that are really weak, are the ones that are super fast so the battle will take forever. Wow, that took a while, but I have one more thing to get to. The other screens, you know, battle screen, character select and the front page. Now, these are quite good looking. they have full color and they are made like the battle backgrounds, just a lot more complete. They are really good which is what holds this section up.

Sound: 4
Yeah, no. The sound is quite annoying for most of the time. You have the battle cries of everyone of the characters which, in most cases, are very annoying. You see, when someone is constant yelling "In the name of Julies Cesar" Over and over again every time they get a hit in, would you like that? I thought not, so why would I? Now, that is only one character that says that, but he is my brother's favoirte one and I am not exactly the best at the game, and I am also in the room right next to him in my house, and there are no doors connecting those two rooms. Now just to add to it, he has it on high volume, so you should feel my pain. All the others have their battle cries too, but they are not so annoying. Some of them are a really low roar kind of thing that doesn't make much noise, so I play as them. Next section of the sound is the battle sounds. In this, I mean the music playing while each battle is going on. The music is sure as annoying as the battle cries. They are just a bunch of screechy high and low notes blended together to make music, or what they call music. It sounds more like a monkey died inside a Tuba and a rat died inside a flute. it is really that bad. Next is the title screen and character select music. it is not that much different, except no animals died inside insturments, just it sounds like some 6th graders played it. Simple and not much to it.

Addictiveness: 2
This game will make you want to play it for hours on end! NOT! The game is a really simple one that has basic battles and not much in the story line. I will get to the story later. Now, I can play this game for aboutr 25 minutes at a time, and I have a lot of patiance, but I can't take this game. it is a really boring one with lame battles and not much to do. It is not one of those games where you want to become the very best ( Pokemon ) and there is no online play thing where you can see how good you are against other people. ( Call of Duty ) All there is to do here is try to complete a really hard but yet really short story line and try to get passed everything else that is bad about this. Now, the game can get pretty fun when you are really good and you play against a couple friends in a tournament or something like that. Not much addicting part to this so I won't bore you any longer with this subject! You should thank me. :P

Story: 4
Ugg, not another bad catagory to go over! Well, looking at what I have left, it will be all bad from here until the cows come home! Story, what story? There is one? For the first few months I had this game I really never wanted to play the story because I only played the game with my brother, but he had played the story and he told me to play it, so I did. It hurt me. It was almost the worst stories I think that I have ever played. When I started, it seemed just like the PvP matchup, just not agianst any live players. Then I got to the story, and it seemed the same as a normal battle, then I realized, all the story is is a big string of battles! That really annoyed me because I wanted something to do! I wanted to have to solve problems and all of that! I wanted to be able to do something else! But sadly, this was it. Now, I will tell you that I was very disapointed with what I got out of it, but did I really expect anything else?

Depth: 2
Geeze, another bad one for you! This game is really short. All that it is is about 5 or so battles to get to the boss and then you defeat him. Yea. Fun right? No. Not fun. ( That was the longest string of small sentences ever! ) You get to just battle this same story mode over and over and over again until you do it with everyone and unlock the boss. Now that is so fun! Again, not. From there you can do a really fun thing! You can just sit there and look at the pretty swirling colors on the screen! ( This is the paragraph of sarcasum ) Once you have completed the story mode, you can do training and PvP battles! Awesome! No. That gets boring after about 10 minutes. I can't bare to look at the screen with all these roman gods any longer! I just can't! I then do the story and do all that fun all over again! Awesome! Man, I didn't know that I would hate on this game this much! Well, I have bored you right? Well, I am going into the last one!

Difficulty: 8.000000001
I just wanted to make this the higest one. :P Because this game is hard unless you put a whole lot of time into it, which is really, really hard to do. The story, I made it seem easy when I talked about it didn't I? Well, that is not what I ment to do at all. I just went into the story and saved the rest for this section. The story is really hard because you go up against, for some reason, stronger forms of the main characters. Or do I just think they are stronger because I only play against my brother. :P The first 2 or 3 of them are quite easy to beat, just the ones after that are not so easy. You go through some moderate ones then you get to the boss. The boss is really hard. He has strong speed AND attack power, which is all you need in this game. No matter who you use, it will be very hard. I suggest using someone who is really fast so you can dodge his ( it's ) attacks and slowly beat down it's HP. The thing is really strong so you will need patiance.

So guys, I hope you enjoyed this review. I am trying to get my reviews back up to speed after my last few about a month ago. This one took me about 3 hours total to do and I am really glad that you read it! Thaks for reading and please remember to rate my review!
