classgame : Possibly, they did completely replace a lot of the graphics, but not crime scenes or characters.

An update to my previous post - yes, Bubble Witch Saga did close down, in October. FarmVille was also still on Flash and closed last month.

SkyeMoonTH : Probably because you really are missing it. Try the link in my previous post.

But yes, Flash being obsolete may well make the plugin useless, unless the emulators use Java instead of Flash. Have you tried the Retroarch emulator? That doesn't need the plugin.

Cookie Cha : To be fair, it's been 10 years since that link was posted, I don't think that version of the software would be any good now, lol.

Try this: https://aka.ms/vs/16/release/vc_redist.x64.exe

Which I found here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads

Apparently Flash will still work until January 12, nine days from now.

https://www.adobe.com/uk/products/flashplayer/end-of-life.html

Is this emulator list up to date? https://www.vizzed.com/emulators/

If it is, then the following emulators will be broken after that date: 1964, FCEUX, Gens, MAME/MESS, Mednafen, Mupen64Plus, NESBox, NullDC, VisualBoyAdvance, and ZSNES.

Well, here we are. Just a few hours to go before the Flash killing browser update is deployed.

At least there'll still be Retroarch, and maybe some other emulators will still work? Don't some use Javascript instead of Flash? And someone suggested adding EasyRPG, a HTML5 platform that lets you play RPG Maker 2000/2003 games using your web browser. That might help since that'll be new content for the site.

It would be helpful if links to non-functional emulators are removed.

On the key items page in the Market (link: https://www.vizzed.com/market/listings.php?type=Key ), there are a bunch of options related to playing game systems for free. If I understand it right, it costs Viz for each different game you play in the RGR Plugin - but not when using Retroarch. Since the Plugin goes obsolete with Adobe Flash in just three weeks, I'm guessing those options are basically redundant now, and will need to be removed.

Also, I'm confused about the Laptop and V-Machine. Both are described as "Allows you to Play every Retro Game for free (doesn't include cd systems)". There seems to be no difference between them, but the Laptop costs 5000 Viz more than the V-Machine!

Saint Six : That'll need to be fixed ASAP, as most of the non-Retroarch RGR emulators will stop working in less than four weeks, due to Flash being scrapped (if any still work after that, I assume they'd be running on Javascript. Retroarch is HTML5).

The RGR plugin needs to run in HTML5 instead of Flash, otherwise it'll stop working at the end of December. It does actually currently work in Chrome if you manually add Vizzed.com to the Flash permissions in Chrome's settings menu - you don't get a prompt to allow Flash to run, but there's not much point fixing that when it'll be obsolete in six months anyway.

Also, the site was down briefly earlier and the holding page linked to a Java RGR app page on Facebook. But something is wrong, as the page just says "Sorry, something went wrong. We're working on getting this fixed as soon as we can."

Davideo7 : Sorry, it isn't fixed. Look at where the yellow arrow is pointing to. The error must've been in multiple places.

pennylessz : A quick Board thread search tells me that they started using RetroArch here three years ago (someone suggested it in 2015 but it was only implemented in 2017). Eight years ago, RetroArch was just starting out and I don't think it could run in a web browser.

pennylessz : Don't you HAVE to use save states anyway when using RetroArch on Vizzed? Correct me if I'm wrong, but in-game saves are never retained once you close the tab running the emulator. Loading a save state also restores your saves, so you can resume from an in-game save if you get a Game Over, but not when you first load the game.

Thanks, in any case.

I've come across a couple of issues. Firstly, I know this is minor, but the Page History spells Notifications as "Notifcations" - with an I missing.

The second problem relates to the Vizzed Board. The Development Forum is supposed to be private, right? So why can I see it?

I was playing Lufia II in RetroArch, and the game crashed when I got to Parcelyte,
freezing during the cutscene that introduces the fourth playable character Selan.
Is this a bug in SNES9x (the core RetroArch uses for SNES) or something?

Johnny Eagle : Which is good - for the time being. But make sure automatic updates are turned off, or you'll be having an unhappy new year when the plugin stops working due to Flash being disabled - support ends on December 31, 2020, and all the major browsers will be updated to block Flash (except, perhaps, Internet Explorer, since that browser is obsolete itself, having been replaced by Microsoft Edge).
