tgags123: Oh shoot, congrats man! How we've all grown up from our heydays here as teenagers.

What was the proposal like? I'd be a nervous wreck leading up to it haha

Once every few days. But I majored in Latin in high school so I'm kind of biased, probably not the right target audience for this survey.

I find circumcision a gross practice.

In 99% of cases it is unnecessary and most cases in the west aren't for religious purposes either. I'm not circumcised and would be horrified if my parents had made that choice for me at a time when I was unable to protest in any way. Leave that decision for your son to make. If he wants to have it done once he does his own research then let him do so. But making permanent changes to a person's body without consent isn't right.

Zlinqx : That's a stupid argument. Parents can already do X to affect their child's health and/or body so might as well let them do Y too. Neither are okay. Putting your children on a road to obesity is obviously bad and shouldn't be encouraged. Permanently affecting their body at birth because you 'think it looks better' shouldn't be encouraged either. Or are you saying we should just go ahead and crop their ears too while we're at it?

tornadocam : I'm not going to tell religious folks to cut it with the circumcisions even though I'm against the principle. However saying 'males will heal' simply isn't true. The skin that is cut off will not grow back. There are also cases in which a poorly performed circumcision leads to nerve damage, and, shockingly, loss of function of the reproductive organ. Not in most cases, but not a risk I find healthy to take for no real benefits. It is important as parents to teach your children how to properly clean themselves and maintain their hygiene. I'm uncircumcised and have never had an infection. Neither have any of the guys I've known in my life (where I'm from we're almost all uncircumcised). Guess what? You can clean yourself when you take a shower. My parents taught me how and I've never had any health issues. Sure, it takes some time for the foreskin to properly stretch enough to pull it back all the way as a kid. And yes, in rare cases they might find themselves unable to. I support circumcision in those cases. I have a friend who had this happen to them. It rarely is the case.

Honestly, saying it has all these medical benefits just sounds like an excuse for people who can't maintain their hygiene properly. I'm super glad it's happening at lower rates nowadays, and look forward to the practice dying off more.

Voting for deggle and Allysa8th.

Interested to see what qualities deggle would bring as an admin, I've known him for long enough that I would like to give him a chance

Unfortunately that means one of Sonic or Allysa isn't getting my vote right now even though they have both performed well as admins. I think I'll give Sonic a little break from admin duties since he's been on the team the longest.

Good luck in 2023!

I've enjoyed it a lot. The performance issues honestly are a bit overblown, there's a few areas or cutscenes with a lot of background NPC's that can get a bit choppy and there are a few areas of the map that don't run well but overall traversing the map is a smooth experience.

My biggest issue was the lack of level scaling. Looking up a spoiler free guide of the 'correct' order might be necessary, but even then you probably want to have more Pokemon in your rotation than just one team of 6. I think in total I ended up using like 10-12 Pokemon throughout the game. It helps that I think this is the strongest regional dex since gen 5, there are a lot of fun and well designed Pokemon this time around (first generation with over 100 new Pokemon since gen 5).

Multiplayer is the biggest draw to me, it's super fun to see your friends running around or battling in the background while you're doing your own thing. If you have a friend with the opposite version to yours, you can even encounter their version exclusives while you're in the same world together and vice versa.

Story wise it's the best since gen 5. It doesn't feel forced and overdramatic like gen 6, there aren't horrendous cutscenes every two seconds like gen 7, there's just 3 nice storylines that delve more into the characters and their backgrounds and motivations than to create some edgy plot.

7.600 uwu

First step of the way now to the ultimate goal. 4% of the final stretch. I should be able to get myself to hit 8000 before the year ends if I hit a random week of motivation.

I'm definitely getting the game. It looks like a mix of Sword/Shield and Legends: Arceus which I'm down for.

I'm more interested in how they're going to utilize the open world aspect from Legends: Arceus in a more traditional game. Will the levels automatically scale with the amount of badges you have? Can you challenge gyms or whatever it will be in any order? Those are the main two questions I want answers to. If they do this right it can turn out amazing.

We'll be pushing close to pokemon #1000 as well. The latest Pokemon, Enamorus, is #905. I don't think we'll hit 1000 pokemon in this generation because they haven't added 90+ new pokemon since like gen 5. And thematically it would probably be better for #1000 to appear in generation 10 instead.

I want to see more regional forms/evolutions to old pokemon that need them. They've been doing a good job with that recently, giving Pokemon like Farfetch'd, Corsola and Basculin some much needed love.

Oh and I want to see what the starter evolutions will look like. I'm praying my boy Fuecoco will live up to its current hype.
