Akili Bandia: Yeah La Nina can last just a few months to 3 years. There have been 4 La Nina's last 3 years Spring 1954 to March 1957, Spring 1973 to March 1976, Spring 1998, to March 2001, and recently Spring 2020 to February 2023.

The Northeast has had some hurricanes 1938 New England, Carol (1954), Edna (1954), Donna (1960) also made landfall in Florida and North Carolina. Agnes (1972) also made landfall in Florida, Gloria (1985) made landfall in North Carolina before Northeast. Bob (1991), Irene (2011) made landfall in North Carolina before Northeast. Finally Sandy (2012) which made landfall in New Jersey as a sub-tropical storm.

As for the most prone hurricane states and USA Territories in the Atlantic.

In No particular Order: Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, South and North Carolina. Puerto Rico and US Virgin Isles

Florida is very prone because it can be hit from all sides.

Akili Bandia: Yes that is the correct name. Yeah his stage gave me trouble at first. The main reason is because its so long, and there are several tricky places. Plus Uranus having that instant death attack until you learn how to dodge it.

Thanks everyone

I have had an incredible from 2021-2025. I have placed in the top 10 several times, I've had a few top 4 finishes and now I have two Tour victories.

I think I"m going to mostly retire I will give myself a 75-85% chance I'm going to mostly retire from competing 30/31 days in these tours. I have other projects I'm working on such as writing my book.

Now, I'm not going away as I will pop in time to time. There might be a few days I try go get a few jersey's. I won't say I'm completely retiring 100%. I may decide to have one more run. But right Now I'm strongly leaning on retiring

classgame : I hope you win the next tour you are an awesome competitor and you deserve to win one.

Furret : Wow I would have loved to seen what you could have done had you competed in the first half. To come in the second half and finish in the top 4 wow. You are also a good competitor.

Dauntez : If I spelled your name wrong I'm sorry. You are also a good competitor and I think you will win a few tours in the future.

Thank you all for the kind words

Blessings

The 2000 Atlantic Hurricane Season was 25 years ago. It was an above average season with 15 named storms, 8 becoming hurricanes, and 3 becoming major hurricanes categories 3, 4, and 5. In 2000 the average season had 11 named storms, 6 hurricanes, and 2 major hurricanes.

The season was above average due to a 3 year continuing La Nina. This was the same La Nina that developed in the Spring of 1998 and lasted until March 2001. Also, 2000 was part of the Second Active phase which started in 1995 and continues to this day. Unlike the previous seasons the 2000 season saw a lot of named storms stay away from the United States. However, for the Caribbean it was a different story.

Here is a list of all the named storms from 2000 *Besides a hurricane's name means the hurricane was a major hurricane.

*Hurricane Alberto (8/3-8/23) pressure 950 millibars max winds 125 mph category 3 hurricane. Alberto was a long lived category 3 hurricane that lasted over 3 weeks. It developed in the Far Atlantic and stayed out to sea impacting no land areas.

Tropical Storm Beryl (8/13-8/15) Pressure 1007 millibars max winds 50 mph. Beryl formed near Mexico in the Gulf and made landfall at peak intensity. Beryl made landfall in a rural area of Mexico claiming 1 live and doing $275,000 in damages.

Tropical Storm Chris (8/17-8/18) pressure 1008 millibars max winds 40 mph. Chris developed near the Antilles. Wind shear and land interaction lead to its early demise.

Hurricane Debby (8/19-8/24) pressure 991 millibars max winds 85 mph category 1 hurricane. Debby developed in the Far Atlantic and eventually made landfall in the Dominican Republic at peak strength. Debby caused 1 death and $750,000 in damages due to striking a rural area.

Tropical Storm Ernesto (9/1-9/3) pressure 1008 millibars max winds 40 mph. Short lived tropical storm that developed in the far Atlantic and did not impact any land.

Hurricane Florence (9/10-9/17) pressure 985 millibars max winds 85 mph category 1 hurricane. Florence developed around the Gulf Stream and moved northward eventually brushing Canada. Despite not making land Florence did cause 3 drownings.

Hurricane Gordon (9/14-9/18) pressure 981 millibars max winds 80 mph category 1. Gordon developed in the Gulf and made landfall in Florida as a strong tropical storm. Gordon caused 26 deaths due to flooding and $10.8 million in damages.

Tropical Storm Helene (9/15-9/25) pressure 986 millibars max winds 70 mph. Helene developed in the Caribbean fell apart and reformed in the Gulf. Helene made landfall in the Florida panhandle. The rain was beneficial and helped relief a very bad drought. Helene caused 2 deaths and $16 million in damages.

*Hurricane Isaac (9/21-10/1) pressure 943 millibars max winds 140 mph category 4 hurricane. Long lived category 4 hurricane that stayed out to sea.

Hurricane Joyce (9/25-10/2) pressure 975 millibars max winds 90 mph category 1 hurricane. Joyce formed in the Far Atlantic and stayed out to sea.

*Hurricane Keith (9/28-10/6) pressure 939 millibars max winds 140 mph category 4 hurricane. Keith developed in the Caribbean and slowly moved northwest. The hurricane rapidly strengthened. Keith peaked as a category 4 just before hitting Belize. Keith's slow movement caused it to interact with land for several hours before coming ashore. This disrupted Keith's core. Keith made landfall in Belize as a 90 mph category 1 hurricane, and then made landfall in Mexico as a high end category 1 hurricane. Keith killed 68 people and caused $340 million in damages.

Tropical Storm Leslie (10/4-10/7) pressure 1006 millibars max winds 45 mph. Leslie developed off the eastern Florida cost then went out to sea.

Hurricane Michael (10/15-10/19) pressure 965 millibars max winds 100 mph category 2 hurricane. Michael developed around the Gulf Stream, and eventually made landfall in Canada as a category 1 hurricane but impacts were unknown.

Tropical Storm Nadine (10/19-10/22) pressure 999 millibars max winds 60 mph. Nadine developed in the Central Atlantic and stayed out to sea.

Unnamed Sub-tropical Storm (10/25-10/29) pressure 976 millibars max winds 65 mph. Originally this was thought to be an extra-tropical system. However, in post season analysis it showed it was a sub-tropical storm. A sub-tropical storm is a storm that is a hybrid between a tropical system and a non tropical one. This one stayed out to sea.

As stated the 2000 season was above average with 15 named storms, 8 hurricanes and 3 major hurricanes. The season's total ACE (Accumulated Cyclonic Energy) was 119.50 which was above the average at that time. Overall, the season caused 111 deaths and $368 million in damages.

Most of the deaths and destruction came from Keith which made landfalls in Belize and Mexico. Due to the severe impacts in Belize and Mexico the name Keith was later retired the following year and replaced with the name Kirk.

The 1985 season as stated in my other threads was average to slightly above average. Yet this season was destructive for the United States. A total of 6 hurricanes made landfall, with 4 of those being destructive. Hurricane Kate was the 4th and final destructive hurricane of the 1985 season. Like most November tropical systems Kate developed around the Gulf Stream. Usually, November tropical systems develop in the Western Caribbean or around the Gulf Stream.

On November 15th a vigorous tropical low developed north of Puerto Rico and near the Gulf stream. Satellite data showed this low had a closed circulation, convection, but was disorganized. Hurricane Hunters flew into the system and discovered the low was a tropical storm it was given the name Kate the 11th named storm of the season. As Kate moved westward it taped into the Gulf Stream and started to rapidly organize. Later on the 16th Kate became a category 1 hurricane.

Kate continued to strengthen as it headed toward Cuba and on November 19th Kate made landfall in Cuba as a 110 mph tropical storm. In Cuba Kate claimed 4 lives and caused $100 million in damages. On the morning November 20th Kate emerged in the Gulf as a 85 mph category 1 hurricane.

The waters of the Gulf were still very warm so Kate was forecasted to strengthen which it did. By the afternoon Kate's center contracted and the winds went from 85 to 105 mph. On the 21st Kate became a major hurricane with winds reaching 120 mph and the pressure dropped to 953 millibars. For the next day and half Kate would maintain category 3 status and remain a major hurricane.

A storm system to the North injected cooler air into Kate and on the evening of the 22nd before landfall Kate's winds weakened to 105 mph making Kate a high end category 2 hurricane. Kate made landfall as a 105 mph category 2 hurricane in the Florida Panhandle. The remnants of Kate moved into Georgia and South Carolina. On November 23rd Kate was declared extra-tropical.

Kate was historic because it is one of the latest hurricanes to strike the US. As Kate made landfall 6 days before Thanksgiving. Usually in November its the Caribbean countries that have land falling hurricanes, and some November hurricanes stay out to sea.

Kate was very destructive in Florida Kate killed 15 people making it the deadliest USA hurricane of 1985 and it caused $750 million in damages to the USA. Overall, between the USA and Cuba Kate killed 19 people and caused $850 million in damages.

Despite the damage in the United States the name Kate was surprisingly not retired. It is unknown why the US did not request retirement since even in 1985 similar hurricanes were retired in the past. The name Kate is still used on the rotating lists to this day.

In my opinion the names Juan and Kate should have been retired along with Elena and Gloria due to their damage. In Kate's case it was not only a destructive hurricane but historic due to hitting the US at a much later date. Kate's record of being the latest hurricane to strike the US still stands to this day 40 years later. Me and other meteorologist do not know why these two names were not retired along with the other two destructive hurricanes. When it comes to November hurricanes Kate is still talked about to this day.

1985 was a destructive hurricane season for the United States. A total of 6 hurricanes made landfall in the States. However, 4 of those were destructive. Hurricane Juan was the 3rd of 4 destructive hurricanes in the 1985 Atlantic Hurricane Season.

On October 24th a storm system moved off the Southeast Texas coastline into the Gulf of Mexico. The tail end of this storm system detached itself from the storm system. On October 25th the tail end of this storm system started to develop convection and a broad circulation. Models started to show this low, which as stated had detached itself from the storm system, becoming a tropical system. Due to the warm waters of the Gulf this low started to organize rapidly.

On October 26th the newly formed low was declared a tropical depression with winds up to 30 mph and the low had a closed circulation. The National Hurricane Center forecasted strengthening as the depression started to slowly move northward. On the 27th the depression became a tropical storm and was named Tropical Storm Juan.

On the 28th Juan became a hurricane and due to warm water the National Hurricane Center expected Juan to become stronger possibly at category 2 strength. On the 29th Juan's winds increased to 85 mph making Juan a high end category 1 hurricane. This would be the hurricane's peak. Later that evening Juan made landfall in Louisiana at peak strength.

However, due to a combination of a trough and high pressure Juan did a loop around Louisiana and emerged back over the Gulf as a 65 mph tropical storm. Due to weak steering currents Juan started to move eastward. Due to being partially over warm water Juan did not become a hurricane again. On the other hand it was still able to strengthen slightly making landfall on the Alabama Florida state line as a 70 mph tropical storm on October 31st. The remnants were pulled northward and Juan dissipated on November 1st.

Juan was a destructive hurricane in Louisiana Juan's large sized produced storm surge's that at that time were mostly seen in category 2 hurricanes. It was reported Juan produced a storm surge over 8 feet in certain spots. Juan's slow movement also produced a lot of wind damage in Louisiana and Mississippi. But, Juan did a lot of damage by flooding in Alabama and Pensacola Florida.

Overall, Juan caused 12 deaths mostly due to storm surge and flooding. In addition, Juan caused $1.5 Billion dollars worth of damage. Juan tied Hurricane Elena as being the costliest hurricane from the 1985 season. Speaking of Elena Juan impacted similar areas that had been decimated by Elena two months earlier adding insult to injury.

Despite the damage and tying Elena for most costliest hurricane in the 1985 season. The name Juan was not retired. It is unknown why the US did not request Juan to be retired but requested Elena and Gloria to be retired. However, the name Juan would later be retired but that was due to 2003's Hurricane Juan which did severe damage in Canada.

Juan showed how even non major hurricanes could be dangerous to Louisiana since a lot of the Louisiana coastal cities are below sea level. Juan was a category 1 hurricane but produced a storm surge usually seen in stronger hurricanes.

1985 was a very stormy year for the United States mostly fueled by an ongoing La Nina. The year 1985 was a destructive year concerning hurricanes and tornadoes. There were several tornado outbreaks. However, one of the worst occurred in Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. This tornado outbreak is still historic 40 years later.

A strong low pressure system moved out of the upper Midwest into Ohio and Western Pennsylvania at the end of May. Above average temperatures were ahead of the storm system. The storm system had a cold front aloft to it. Southerly winds created wind shear ahead of the storm system. Behind the storm system was strong winds over 90 mph aloft. This created wind energy and the changing of the winds created Wind Sear.

On May 31st temperatures were in the low 80's and the humid air from the Gulf raised dew points 66-72 degrees. This caused rapid destablization to occur. Thunderstorms started to develop and rapidly turn severe with damaging winds and later tornadoes. These tornadoes were rain wrapped which made them hard to see.

Several tornadoes began to touch down on the evening of May 31st and would continue into June 1st. Ohio and Western Pennsylvania can and are tornado prone. But what made these tornadoes so bad was they were intense tornadoes. About 60% of the tornadoes that touched down were rated F2 or higher.

Some of the notable tornadoes from this outbreak

Monroe Ohio/Erie PA Tornado This tornado touched down in Ohio and continued into Erie County Pennsylvania. This tornado reached a peak of F4 intensity. This tornado caused millions of damage and killed 12 people.

Brundysburg OH Tornado this tornado was an F3 and destroyed over 40 homes

Linesville PA Tornado- This tornado was rated F2 and killed 1 person

Cornelion OH to Eagle Rock PA- This was another destructive tornado that impacted OH and PA. This one was also an F4 type tornado and one of the deadliest. This tornado killed 16 people.

Centerville PA- Another intense tornado touched reaching peak of F3 strength. This tornado killed 2 people by destroying homes.

Waterford PA- Another F4 type tornado that destroyed homes, and buildings.

Newton Falls OH and Mercer PA- This tornado was the deadliest and strongest. This tornado peaked as an F5 destroying buildings, barns, and homes. 18 people perished.

Ows Nest PA tornado- Another F4 tornado did severe damage killing 7 people

Glen Hazel PA tornado- Another F4 tornado that destroyed homes killing 4 people

Butler PA tornado- This F3 tornado did severe damage to homes and buildings. Sadly this tornado killed 9 people

Union PA tornado- This F3 tornado hit several subdivisions killing 6 people

This tornado outbreak remains one of the worst for Eastern OH and Western Pennsylvania to this day 40 years later. While that area has had several tornado outbreaks since then. This one is still the worst not so much for the tornadoes produced but due to how strong they were.

This outbreak produced 32 tornadoes in Eastern Oho and West/Central Pennsylvania. Also 76 people were killed due to this outbreak. The ingredients came together to produce this monster outbreak. However, what made the tornadoes so bad was they were rain wrapped people had no way of seeing them. To make matters worse Western PA is full of hills and mountains. The hills and mountains made it difficult to spot tornadoes due to the hilly terrain. There was also some nighttime tornadoes in this outbreak as well.

This outbreak is still studied today on how over 60% of the tornadoes were F2 or higher type tornadoes. As a Meteorologist myself I can remember when I was in college we did an analysis of this tornado outbreak. You had very warm air colliding with cold air aloft, then you had the very high wind shear, moisture from the Gulf, thermal energy, and wind energy over 90 mph blasting in along with a 100 mph or greater jet. This is what lead to the tornadoes being intense. This outbreak also is what lead to more studies being done on why strong tornadoes develop. Even though this was 40 years ago it paved the way for better forecasting and determining if conditions are right for long tracked tornadoes.

The 1985 season was average to slightly above average due to an ongoing La Nina. This season saw 6 hurricanes make landfall in the United States. In addition, 4 hurricanes were very destructive. Hurricanes Elena and Gloria were the first and second of 4 destructive hurricanes.

Hurricane Elena

On August 27th a tropical low developed just to the north of Cuba. Models started to agree that this low would become a significant storm. The low already had a lot of convection and even a broad area of rotation. However, it lacked a closed circulation. On August 28th the low entered the Gulf of Mexico and closed its circulation. The National Hurricane Center declared it a tropical depression and advised it could become a hurricane in the Gulf.

Late on the 28th of August the depression's winds increased to 50 mph and it was named Elena. Taping into the very warm water of the Gulf Elena started to really strengthen the next day, and on the 29th Elena became a category 1 hurricane. Elena continued to strengthen but started to move erratic. Due to a trough Elena started to turn toward Florida. On August 30th Elena's winds increased to 100 mph making Elena a category 2 hurricane. However, the hurricane nearly stalled.

Despite moving stationary Elena was able to strengthen despite up welling. On August 31st Elena's winds increased to 110 mph making Elena a high end category 2 hurricane. The trough broke down and Elena started to be steered northwest away from Florida. Elena then made a loop over the Gulf of Mexico. Eventually the hurricane would make another turn to Mississippi.

On September 1st Elena winds increased to 115 mph making Elena a major category 3 hurricane. On September 2nd Elena reached its peak with winds 125 mph making Elena a high end category 3 hurricane. On September 3rd Elena made landfall in Biloxi Mississippi as a 120 mph category 3 hurricane.

Elena was destructive causing 9 deaths and $1.5 Billion in damages. Due to the severe damage in the US state of Mississippi the name was retired the following spring.

Hurricane Gloria

A tropical wave emerged off the coast of Africa around September 14th. This wave had a lot of convection but not a closed circulation. The wave moved westerly for a few days. On September 16th the wave closed its circulation and it was declared a tropical depression. Some of the models started to hint that this depression would become a major hurricane.

On September 18th the depression, after moving a semi-hostile environment, strengthened to tropical Storm Gloria. Gloria would continue to steadily strengthen over the next few days. On September 21st Gloria became a hurricane when its winds increased to 80 mph.

Over the next few days due to interaction with a non tropical low to the north Gloria's intensity was slow after becoming a hurricane. On the 23rd Gloria became a category 2 hurricane when its winds increased to 100 mph. The next Day Gloria would tap into the moist atmosphere, warm water, and no wind shear and started to rapidly deepen.

On September 24th Gloria's winds increased to 120 mph making Gloria a major category 3 hurricane. The Hurricane Hunters noticed that Gloria's eye was shrinking and the outflow was becoming better organized. On September 25th Gloria winds reached their peak at 145 mph and the pressure dropped to 919 millibars making Gloria a category 4 hurricane.

On September 26th an approaching cold front started to weaken Gloria as the hurricane started to take aim at North Carolina. Later on the 26th Gloria made landfall in North Carolina as a high end category 2 hurricane with winds 105-110 mph. After making landfall in North Carolina. Gloria was steered up the East Coast. On September 27th Gloria made a final landfall in New York as a high end category 1 hurricane. On the 28th Gloria became extra-tropical.

Gloria was a destructive hurricane doing $750 million damages in North Carolina and an additional $250 million in New York. Overall, Gloria killed 14 people in the US and caused $1 Billion in damages. Due to its destruction among the East Coast the name Gloria was retired.

Elena and Gloria were 2 of 4 destructive hurricanes from the 1985 season. Despite the other hurricanes being equally as destructive. Elena and Gloria were the only 2 names to have their names retired from the 1985 season.

As I have mentioned in my other posts Mega Man V introduced us to 10 new robot masters the alien robot masters called the Stardroids. There are 10 of them with 9 of them being created by Wily and named after planets. Sun Star is unique because he was not created by Dr. Wily.

Background- Some time ago an ancient alien civilization built Sun Star to be the ultimate doomsday weapon. Sunstar was built to punish civilizations that loved war and destruction. After destroying civilizations that constantly sought out war and destruction he deactivated in a ruin as there was nothing left to destroy.

Dr. Wily unearthed Sun Star or discovered him as some sources stated in a ruin. Most likely when Wily had his space fortress in the previous game Mega Man IV. Wily noticed that Sun Star was made out of alien material and general weapons could not hurt him. Wily used Sun Star as a template to create the 9 other star droids.

After Mega Man defeated the Star Droids, thanks to Dr. Light changing his weapon system that would damage the alien invaders. Wily awaited for him to release Sun Star upon Mega Man. Mega Man defeated Wily and Wily ordered Sun Star to destroy Mega Man.

However, what Wily did not count on was Sun Star being a doomsday weapon had a mind of his own. He attacked Wily forcing Wily to leave his space fortress and head back to earth. He engaged Mega Man in a fight and nearly defeated Mega Man. Mega Man after a brutal and very tough fight got the upper hand. Mega Man offered to help Sun Star which surprised him. Mega Man taught Sun Star that their can be peace and that Mega Man only fights when he has too for defense purposes. Sun Star agreed but told Mega Man to leave as his reactor was going haywire. Mega Man left without him.

His CD data suggests that he survived or was rebuilt.

Appearance- Sun Star is a human type alien robot master. He has a human face, has human hands, and feet. He has several red gems on his body. His helmet is made to look like an ancient soldiers helmet. He has a buster cannon on one arm. He has smaller cannons all over his body. He has Blue, Red, orange, and yellow armor.

Personality- Sun Star has a complex personality. He was created to be a dooms day weapon and to destroy those who just made war all the time. Basically, giving them what they want. He believes that all civilizations want to do is create war and they are inferior. Therefore, they must get what they want and be destroyed.

However, he does have a mind of his own as he cannot be controlled as Dr. Wily found that out. He does not like to be told what to do and can make his own mind. Basically, he has an independent streak to him that he answers to no one.

In addition, he seems to respect opponents as he introduced himself to Mega Man in a polite manner. This could be because he respected or recognized Mega Man's power. After Mega Man defeats him he seems to understand what Mega Man is fighting for. Furthermore, he seems to understand and want to learn more about peace. As he is dying he tells Mega Man to leave so he would not be hurt in the explosion.

Attack- Sun Star is often considered one of the hardest bosses in the classic Mega Man franchise. He has several powerful attacks. A few of them can nearly be instant death. He is very fast and can dash across the room in a rapid manner. Also when he charges up he is immune to attacks even his weakness. One of his powerful attacks is to fire powerful lasers and then dash across the room. Another powerful attack is for him to create electricity he will shoot a spark across the room and when the spark gets close to player rise up and hit them. As the fight goes on Sunstar will use fireballs to destroy the floor to go down to another floor.

After he destroys the first floor his attacks get more powerful and faster. Not only will he use his laser attack, but he will use fire and electric attacks as well. Those are not even his most dangerous attacks. Another powerful attack is he can turn into like a buzz saw and try to collide with the player. His most dangerous attack is the Nova Strike weapon. Sun Star will cause a storm of lasers and lightning bolts to reign down on the player all at once. This attack is nearly instant death as it does over 70% of damage to the player's health bar. Sun Star will use the Nova Strike weapon at random.

Weakness- He really does not have a weakness the only weapon that is effective against him is the Spark Chaser. Spark Chaser only does 1 damage against him. On the other hand, Spark Chaser can do multiple hits so its possible for a Spark Chaser shot to take 2 or 3 unites of damage off of him. Otherwise, the battle is mostly luck and reflexes. Sun Star is very fast, has powerful attacks, and does not leave himself open to attacks.

Since he is the final boss Mega Man cannot gain his weapon the Nova Strike.

CD Data

An ancient alien robot discovered in a runs. He is a doomsday weapon.

Good Point- Cheerful

Bad Point- doesn't like to get up as he is a doomsday weapon.

Likes- Brushing his teeth

Dislikes- Keeping late hours.

His keeping late hours is likely a reference to him being a dooms day weapon. When he attacks he likes for it to be over quickly, which is often the case. He does not like projects that take a while. Him like brushing his teeth could be that he likes to look good when he appears as he has a smile before engaging in combat.

Despite being a Doomsday weapon he is cheerful. However, he is most likely cheerful because he has punished those that have made war. Him not liking to get up could be a reference cause when he gets up it means he is about to punish a civilization and its their doom.

Sun Star is a unique character he is the final boss of Mega Man V and he is an enemy. However, he is not really evil. He states that he believes civilizations that just star wars are more evil and that is why they are inferior.

In the American Version of the game he agrees with Mega Man about their being peace and only fighting when one has to. He tells Mega Man to leave him behind due to his reactor going to explode.

In the Japenese version of the game he states that when he was built there was constantly wars and he was created to punish those by giving them what they want. He states that Mega Man could be the one to achieve peace due to his sense of justice and only fighting when its self defense. He told Mega Man that he hoped by dying peace would be able to achieve. He encouraged Mega Man to continue to fight for lasting peace.

In the end we see that Sun Star respects Mega Man but that he wished he may have learned about a balance in peace and war (only when its self defense) earlier. The way he encouraged Mega Man made it seem like that Sun Star wanted peace too he just did not know how to achieve it.

Based on Sun Star's CD data it suggests that he survived. There are several theories about this. One theory is that Sun Star faked his death to go live in a peaceful exile. Another theory, is that Wily went back in space found his parts and rebuilt him. Another theory is that Mega Man told Dr. Light about Sun Star, and Dr. Light found the parts and rebuilt Sun Star. Thus Sun Star got to leave a peaceful life in exile. He is not seen working for Wily in the future so it seems less likely that Wily was the one who rebuilt him. The theory about him faking his death or Dr. Light restoring him makes sense. Anyway this concludes the Sun Star Biography.

Mega Man V introduced us to the Stardroids a group of alien robot masters. In fact, there are 10 of them with 9 of them being named after planets in our solar system. Jupiter was one of the 9 named after planets, and he made his debut in Mega Man V for Game Boy.

Background- After the events of Mega Man IV for Game Boy Dr. Wily discovered or unearthed the alien robot Sun Star. Wily discovered that Sun star was made out of alien material and general weapons did not hurt him. Wily used Sun Star to create 9 new robot masters the stardroids.

Jupiter was created among the 9 using Sun Star as a template. Wily created Jupiter with the ability to fly using a high powered jet pack. Terra, the stardroid leader took 4 stardroids to attack the Earth in the first wave. Jupiter was not in the first wave.

Instead Jupiter took over an old alien fort on the planet Jupiter his namesake planet. His base has lightning and ice in it. He noticed that Terra defeated Mega Man. However, Jupiter found out that Mega Man's weapons had been changed to damage the stardroids. Even after Mega Man defeated the first wave he eagerly awaited his arrival thinking he could defeat Mega Man. Instead he was defeated. His CD data suggest he is still alive and still works for Wily in some way.

Appearance- Jupiter is a human/avian hybrid type robot master. He has yellow talons as feet. For his helmet it looks like he has a yellow beak that goes over his face. He has a slim human like face, and human like hands. He has cannon on each of his arms that he uses to create electricity. On his back he has high powered jets. His armor is mostly green, aqua, and yellow.

Personality- Despite having responsibilities he does not take like seriously which can get on Terra and Wily's nerves at times. He loves to do air tricks with his jet pack as he can go any speed he wants too. He also can be reckless as he looses valuable items at times. However, he is confident in his abilities and believed he could defeat Mega Man. He is also loyal to Terra and Wily. It is hinted that he does not like Gyro Man because he considers propellers to be ancient.

Attack- Jupiter has a simple attack pattern, but he can be tricky. He spends most of his time fighting in the air. It can be tricky to see were he will stop to fire his most dangerous attack. Jupiter's most dangerous attack is his electric shock weapon. Jupiter has two versions of this attack. One version is he will create a powerful lightning bolt and cause it to hit the ground. This attack causes lightning to spread and linger across the floor. The other version Jupiter tries to hoover over the player and strike them with lightning. He can also charge up his lightning attacks when he is charging he is immune to weapons.

Weakness- Jupiter is weak to the Bubble Bomb. The Bubble Bomb can reach upward and hit him when he is in the air. The Bubble Bomb messes with his gravity and jet systems. Also since it is water/soap based and he is electric it temporarily shorts him out. Thus, he is also weak to salt water since it is also water based it will also short him out.

If the player defeats Jupiter they will get the powerful electric shock weapon. The player can fire a lightning bolt and can even hold the lightning bolt to create an electric stream for a few seconds. This is a useful weapon against heavy armored enemies.

CD Data

He can fly very high and he can electrocute enemies with his electric shock.

Good Point- Speed

Bad Point- looses things important

Likes- acrobatics

Dislikes- turbulence

His dislike for turbulence is due to when he is flying high sometimes he hits turbulence which can make him sick until he gets out of it. It is hinted he does not get along with Gyro Man. As stated he considers Gyro Man's propeller to be ancient and Jupiter has an advanced Jet pack. It could also be that he knew that Gryo Man was originally built with a jet pack but due to cost Wily gave h im a propeller instead. Gryo Man used to be envy of jet packed colleagues but he is proud of his propeller.

Jupiter is named after the planet Jupiter. Jupiter being electric is likely a reference to how Jupiter is known for having electric storms that produce lighting on it. In fact, the planet Jupiter is known for its spots on it that are basically storms that produce a lot of lightning. His stage having Ice in it is also a reference to how Jupiter being the 5th planet from the sun is very cold, but not as cold as some of the other planets.

After the events of Mega Man V his CD data suggest he is still alive. It is likely that he still works for Wily in some way. However, what his job actually is has not been confirmed. He is loyal to Wily and to his superior Terra. This concludes the Jupiter Biography.

Been listening to a variety. I have been listening to oldies 1960's, 1970's, and 1980's. Me and my wife have also been listening to smooth jazz lately to help us relax during the evening. I have also been listening to Mega Man music themes as well. So yeah I have been listening to a variety of things. Sometimes music can help get your mind off of things.

I agree the best music was from the 60's and 80's. I'm from the 80's and the music back then was awesome: Journey, Chicago, The Rolling Stones were still going, Deaf Leppard, Hall and Oates, the Bengals and others were the 80's.

Finally seeing a pattern flip. After today our temperatures will start to cool in fact they will be below average. However, the past two days we have gotten thunderstorms. On the 28th I measured 0.72 inches of rain. Today I observed a high of 93 degrees but got 1.32 inches of rain due to thunderstorms. The humidity continues to be high.

Sponge Bob was just coming out when I was in high school. Me and my friends thought he was annoying and I just never got into him. Now my friends knew more about him than I did because they had younger siblings that watched him.

Why are they shutting down the networks in Canada? Is it political reasons, funding cuts, or lack of interest? Just wondering cause I'm in the states.

The 1985 Atlantic Hurricane Season was 40 years ago. The 1985 season was slightly above average. There was 11 named storms, 7 became hurricanes, and 3 became major hurricanes categories 3, 4, and 5. In the 1980's an average season had 10 named storms 6 hurricanes and 2 major hurricanes.

1970-1994 is known as the negative phase or the cooling phase in the Atlantic Basin as the ASO was in a negative phase. 10 years later in 1995 the Second Active Phase started as ASO went back to positive. However, the 1985 season was slightly above average due to an ongoing La Nina. This was the same La Nina that developed in early 1984 and continued into early 1986. The La Nina peaked in 1985.

A lot of the storms in 1985 impacted land and a lot of them made landfall in the United States (including the USA Atlantic Territories). Here is a list of all the named storms from the 1985 season. *Besides a hurricane's name means the hurricane was a major hurricane.

TS Ana (7/15-7/19) pressure 996 millibars max winds 70 mph. Ana developed around the Gulf Stream and moved Northward. Ana turned out to sea.

Hurricane Bob (7/21-7/26) pressure 1002 millibars max winds 75 mph category 1 hurricane. Bob developed off the eastern Florida Coastline and moved northward. Bob peaked as a category 1 hurricane right before making landfall in South Carolina. Bob caused 5 deaths and $20 million in damages.

Hurricane Claudette (8/9-8/16) pressure 980 millibars max winds 85 mph category 1 hurricane. Claudette developed around the Gulf Stream and moved into the Central Atlantic were the storm reached its peak. Claudette did not impact any land.

Hurricane Danny (8/12-8/18) pressure 988 millibars max winds 90 mph category 1 hurricane. Danny developed in the Gulf and peaked as a high end category 1 hurricane before making landfall in Louisiana. Danny caused 5 deaths and $100 million in damages. Thankfully Danny made landfall in a very rural area.

*Hurricane Elena (8/28-9/4) pressure 953 millibars max winds 125 mph category 3 hurricane. Elena developed in the Southern Gulf of Mexico. Elena started to pose a threat to Florida, but the hurricane made a loop. Elena peaked as a Category 3 hurricane in the Central Gulf and maintained its intensity until landfall striking Mississippi as a category 3 hurricane. Elena caused 9 deaths and $1.5 Billion in damages.

Tropical Storm Fabian (9/15-9/19) pressure 992 millibars max winds 65 mph. Fabian developed in the Central Atlantic and stayed out to sea.

*Hurricane Gloria (9/16-9/17) pressure 919 millibars max winds 145 mph category 4 hurricane. Gloria developed in the Far Atlantic and slowly strengthened. Gloria reached its peak as a category 4 hurricane. Gloria was also the strongest hurricane of the season. Gloria made landfall in North Carolina as a high end category 2 hurricane and later New York as a high end category 1 hurricane. Gloria caused 14 deaths and $1 Billion in damages.

TS Henri (9/21-9/25) 996 millibars max winds 60 mph. Henri developed off the east coast of the USA. Henri made landfall in Massachusetts as a weakening tropical storm with little impacts.

TS Isabell (10/7-10/15) pressure 997 millibars max winds 70 mph. Isabell developed north of Puerto Rico and started to slowly move northwest. Eventually Isabell made landfall in Florida as a tropical storm. Isabell's heavy rains caused $60 million in damages to Florida.

Hurricane Juan (10/26-11/1) pressure 971 millibars max winds 85 mph category 1 hurricane. Juan developed in the Central Gulf and slowly moved northward. Due to the warm waters Juan strengthened into a hurricane and made landfall in Louisiana as a high end category 1 hurricane. Juan emerged back over water and hugged the Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida Panhandle before making a final landfall in the later. Juan caused a lot of damage due to flooding. Overall, Juan caused 12 deaths and $1.5 Billion in damages.

*Hurricane Kate (11/15-11/23) pressure 953 millibars max winds 120 mph category 3 hurricane. Kate developed around the Gulf Stream which is not unusual for a November Hurricane. Kate then moved westward and quickly strengthened striking Cuba as a category 2 hurricane. Kate then emerged in the Gulf becoming a major hurricane and started to move toward the Florida Panhandle. The track was unusual in having a hurricane strike the Florida Panhandle in November. Usually the Florida Panhandle is prone to hurricanes from June to October. Kate made landfall in Florida as a category 2 hurricane. A lot of people were caught off guard by the hurricane's power due to the hurricane season almost being over when Kate made landfall. Kate killed 19 people and caused $800 million in damages.

Overall the 1985 season caused 64 deaths despite several hurricanes making landfall. However, the season was very destructive causing $5 Billion in damages. Most of the damage was done by the 4 hurricanes of Elena, Gloria, Juan, and Kate. The seasons total Accumulated Cyclonic Energy was 88 which is considered average and was average to slightly above average in 1985.

The names Elena and Gloria were retired the following year and replaced with Erika and Grace in the rotating naming lists. Despite their damage Juan and Kate were not retired from 1985. Although Juan would be retired but it was due to 2003's hurricane Juan.

The season was historic at that time because 6 hurricanes made landfall in the United States (including the Atlantic USA territories) This has since been passed by more active hurricane seasons, but 40 years ago in 1985 that was historic.

This is a really complex question. As human beings we want to have relationships with others. But we also do self care and look after our own selves as well. This means a lot of times we do selfless things that we think will help us as well as help others when we are not aware of it.

However, I think there are times were it is possible to be selfless. I am a Christian now am I perfect no. But I try to do things that glorify God instead of myself. I try to help others rather its by prayer, being there or encouragement. I also think we can have empathy toward one another without focusing on ourselves so much.

I am also a married man and me and my wife try to do things that we think will help each other not just ourselves. Now, we do self care for ourselves and we do things for ourselves. But at the end of the day we try to do things that help us both because we are a family and we are one.

So yes it is possible sometimes. I would also like to add some people post the good deeds they do like they gave so much money to this or that. But are they really being selfless or is just to make themselves look good in front of others. I have actually seen that in action first hand.

Its a complex issue because in my faith everybody is born not good as written in Roman's chapter 3. As humans we have free will, can reason, choose our own path, but we are also flawed with sin and in some cases selfish. In my religion that is why accepting Jesus as your savior is important.

Even non Christians though can do good things without being selfish. I guess I'm trying to say I have seen it go both ways and this question is very very complex.

Mega Man V introduced us to the Stardroids, a group of alien robot masters. There are a total of 10 of them with 9 being named after planets. Terra is one of the later as Terra is another name for Earth. Terra made his debut in Mega Man V.

Background- After the events of Mega Man IV for Game Boy Dr. Wily discovered or unearthed the alien robot Sun Star. After doing tests on Sun Star Wily discovered he was made out of alien material that general weapons could not damage him. Wily used Sun Star to make the 9 stardroids. Terra was the first Stardroid Wily made. Wily made Terra to be the leader and commander of the Stardroid unit. After making Terra Wily made 8 other stardroid robot masters.

Terra leads the first wave of Stardroids to attack the earth while the other 4 stay at their respective space stations they have taken over. Terra soon encountered Mega Man. Terra challenged Mega Man to a duel and defeated Mega Man. Thus, he is one of the few robot masters to defeat Mega Man. Terra knocked out a surprised Mega Man, who was shocked he could not damage this invader.

Terra went on to carry out his attacks and lead his team in more attacks. Meanwhile Dr. Light found Mega Man and changed his weapon system. He changed Mega Man's weapons to those that would damage these invaders including Terra.

Terra was shocked that Mega Man defeated his first wave. Terra retreated. After Mega Man defeated the second wave Terra challenged Mega Man to a rematch. Except this time Mega Man defeated Terra. It is revealed that Terra survived or was rebuilt most likely by Dr. Wily

Appearance- Terra as a human like robot master. He has long green hair. He has blue shoulder pads, a blue torso, and blue shoes. He has green gems on his body. He has orange cannons on his hands. His hands are white.

Personality- Terra is respected by his peers for his effective leadership and master planning. He is great military strategist and a very effective leader. He is confident in his abilities since he knows general weapons do not phase him. He also cares about his comrades as evident when he got mad at Mega Man for defeating them. He is also loyal and wants to do his best for Dr. Wily. As hinted at he is very competent.

However, Terra can be compulsive sometimes. He has been described as an overly clean person. He is obsessed with cleaning his hair and being clean in general. He gets nervous when he cannot clean. He also is vain as he loves keeping his hair neat and does not wear helmets.

Attack- Terra can be a tricky opponent. Terra likes to use his electric weapon a lot. He can stun the player/opponent then fire his spark chaser. The spark chaser fires a beam of electricity at the player and can do multiple hits. He sometimes jumps but he prefers not to. He prefers to stun and shoot his spark chasers rapidly. The rate he does this is tricky. He also can fight at a distance or close up.

Weakness- He is weak to the deep digger weapon. The player can lift the blocks on the floor and throw them at Terra. The boulders smash his very thick armor and can lock him into a pattern.

If the player defeats Terra they will get the Spark Chaser. The Spark Chaser can be fired and hit the target or several targets at the same time. This is a very useful weapon to use against multi enemies.

CD Data

An alien robot master. His body is made out of alien material so regular weapons do not hurt him.

Good Point- Leader type

Bad Point- Can be obsessive

Likes- Shampoo and keeping his hair neat

Dislikes- Helmet

As stated he likes to keep his hair neat. Terra is obsessive about being clean. If he does not think he is clean it makes him feel a little nervous. He does not like helmets cause they mess his hair up.

He is a very effective leader and strategist developing plans and combat strategies for his comrades. He is highly respected even those not in the Stardroid unit. He is very confident in his ability. However, he is not really arrogant because he is confident in his abilities due to his armor. He showed annoyance when Mega Man defeated his comrades in the first wave.

Terra is another name for Earth. Him having the name Earth is probably why he was chosen to be the leader of the star droid unit by Wily. His colors of blue and green is also a reference to Earth. As Earth has blue due to the water and green due to the land masses.

It is not stated but given were his final battle takes place it could be likely on the Earth's Moon given how his name means Earth. This would also explain the moon like surface he is fought on.

After the events of Mega Man V it is shown that Terra is still alive. Most likely he still works for Wily but his role is unknown. Regardless this concludes the Pluto biography.

Mega Man V was released for Game Boy and it introduced us to something new. The game introduced us to 10 new characters called Stardroids. 9 Stardroids are named after planets in our solar system. Pluto is one of the 9 stardroids and he is named after, at that time the planet Pluto, which is now a dwarf planet. Anyway lets learn about Pluto

Background- After the events of Mega Man IV Dr. Wily unearthed or discovered an alien robot named Sun Star. Wily discovered Sun Star was made out of alien armor that general weapons could not hurt him. Wily used Sun Star as a template to create the Stardroids alien robot masters. First he made Terra to be the commander of the Stardroids then he named others. Pluto was one of the ones that Wily created.

Terra lead the first wave of Stardroids to attack earth. Terra even encountered Mega Man was able to defeat him. Mega Man recovered and Dr. Light changed Mega Man's weapon system so it would damage the new invaders. Pluto was in the second wave of Star Droids.

Pluto has taken over an old alien base/fort on the planet Pluto. After defeating the first 4 Stardroids Mega Man travels in space to take out the Stardroids space stations on their home planet. Pluto awaited Mega Man's arrival. Mega Man made his way through Pluto's fort and confronted Pluto. Pluto put up a good fight but Mega Man eventually got the upper hand. Pluto was defeated but it is revealed he is alive likely working for Wily.

Appearance- Pluto is a human/cat hybrid type robot master. He has a human like face, but has cat ears. He has long claws that can retract like a cat. His claws can also regrow if they are damaged. He blue, mostly purple, and gold armor. He also resembles a snow cat as he has a lot of fur on him. He also has a long purple/blue tail.

Personality- Pluto is very confident in his abilities and is loyal. He is a very effective fighter and planner. However, he can be vain at times. Since he is based off of a cat he likes to groom or have himself groomed. He likes keeping his claws neat, although it hates it when his claws get damage. But his claws do grow back. He does not like pedicures though cause he has stubbed claws for feet. Despite being on one of the coldest planets in our solar system he prefers warm weather and does not like the cold. However, he can function in the cold as well as the heat. He cannot stand his peer Mercury because he is weak to Mercury's weapon.

Attack- Pluto can be a very tough opponent. If the player/opponent gets close to him he can slash them with his sharp claws doing massive damage. He can also climb the wall and fire homing missiles or plasma shots at the player. He is very fast and agile like a feline. HIs main attack is his break dash. When Pluto does this he can use super sonic speed to move across the room and dash into the player. He cannot be hurt when he is using his break dash weapon. Moreover, Pluto can sometimes dodge the opponents attacks as he likes to jump a lot. He uses his attacks in a rapid manner. His fights are very fast past.

Weakness- Pluto weakness is the Mercury Grab Buster. The Grab Buster steals his energy and returns it to the player. If you do not want to fight him using his weakness. Pluto is best fought at a distance so you can have time to react to whatever he is doing. Fighting Pluto close up is only helping Pluto.

After he is defeated the player will get his Break Dash Weapon. The player can use the Break Dash to break through walls, and even go through some enemies without getting hurt.

CD Data

An alien robot designed for Jungle Combat Slash Man is based off of him.

Good Point- Cat like reflexes

Bad Point- He is Vain and hates the cold

Likes- Nail art and keeping his nails neat

Dislikes- Pedicures

Pluto likes nail art and it is hinted he is an artists in his spare time as he likes to create and make things out of his claws. He does not like the cold yet he took over the coldest place in the solar system. It is speculated that his base may have been kept at a tropical like temperature. He prefers the warm weather.

He is also friends with Slash Man who is designed after him. Dr. Wily was impressed with Pluto that he designed Slash Man after Pluto. Both have similar attack patterns and both are powerful bosses.

Dr. Wily values Pluto as he made a future robot master designed after him. He also values Pluto for his reflexes, intelligence, and his combat abilities. This is likely why Wily used Pluto as a template for Slash Man. Since Pluto does not like the cold it is speculated that in addition to keeping his base at room temperature. It is speculated Wily may have ordered Pluto to go to the coldest planet.

Moreover, Pluto is one of the few robot masters based off of an animal. In Pluto's case he is based off of felines in general. After the events of Mega Man V considering how Wily used him as a template. It is speculated he still works for Wily in some way. This concludes the Pluto Biography.

The 1999 Atlantic Hurricane Season was 26 years ago. This season was above average with 12 named storms, 8 becoming hurricanes, and 5 becoming major hurricanes categories 3, 4 and 5. At that time an average season had 10/11 named storms, 6 hurricanes, and 2 major hurricanes.

The 1999 season was above average due to a continuing La Nina. This was the same La Nina that developed in Spring 1998 and lasted until March 20001. Also 1999 was part of the second active phase in the Atlantic that started in 1995 and continues to this day. This season featured a lot of long tracked hurricanes similar to the previous year.

Here is a list of all the named storms from the 1999 Atlantic Hurricane season *Beside a hurricane's name means the hurricane was a major hurricane.

Tropical Storm Arlene (6/11-6/18) pressure 1006 millibars 60 mph max winds. Arlene developed in the Central Atlantic and stayed out to sea causing no problems.

*Hurricane Bret (8/18-8/25) pressure 944 millibars max winds 145 mph category 4 hurricane. Bret developed in the Gulf of Mexico and slowly moved Northwestward. Bret peaked as a category 4 hurricane. However, dry air weakened Bret to a 115 mph category 3 hurricane at landfall in Texas. Thankfully, Bret made landfall in a rural area causing 7 deaths and $60 million in damages.

*Hurricane Cindy (8/19-8/31) pressure 942 millibars max winds 140 mph category 4 hurricane. Cindy developed in the far Atlantic became a category 4 hurricane and stayed out to sea.

Hurricane Dennis (8/24-9/7) pressure 962 millibars max winds 105 mph category 2 hurricane. Dennis developed around the Gulf Stream and peaked as a category 2 hurricane. Drier air and wind shear weakened Dennis to a strong tropical storm at its landfall in North Carolina. However, Dennis caused severe flooding. Overall Dennis caused 6 deaths and $157 million in damages.

Tropical Storm Emily (8/24-8/28) pressure 1004 millibars max winds 50 mph. Emily developed in the far Atlantic and stayed out to sea.

*Hurricane Floyd (9/7-9/18) pressure 921 millibars max winds 155 mph category 4 hurricane. Floyd developed in the far Atlantic and steadily intensified into a major hurricane. Floyd made landfall in the Bahamas near peak strength and North Carolina as a category 2 hurricane. Floyd also caused severe flooding inland. Overall, Floyd caused 85 deaths and $6.5 Billion in damages.

*Hurricane Gert (9/11-9/23) pressure 930 millibars max winds 150 mph category 4 hurricane. Gert was a long lived major hurricane that developed in the far Atlantic and stayed out to sea. However, Gert did cause 2 drownings due to rip currents.

Tropical Storm Harvey (9/19-9/22) pressure 994 millibars max winds 60 mph. Harvey developed in the Gulf of Mexico and made landfall in Florida. Harvey caused $23 million in damages.

Hurricane Irene (10/12-10/19) pressure 958 millibars max winds 110 mph category 2 hurricane. Irene developed in the Caribbean made landfall in Cuba as a minor tropical storm, South Florida as a high end category 1 hurricane. Irene would peak as a category 2 hurricane off the North Carolina coastline before going out to sea. Overall, Irene caused 16 deaths and $850 million in damages.

Hurricane Jose (10/17-10/25) pressure 979 millibars max winds 100 mph category 2 hurricane. Jose developed just to the east of the Antilles. Jose made landfall in Anguilla as a category 2 hurricane causing 3 deaths and $5 million in damages.

Tropical Storm Katrina (10/28-11/1) pressure 999 millibars max winds 40 mph. Katrina formed near the Nicaragua coastline in the Caribbean which is also were the storm made landfall. Katrina caused $100,000 in damages.

*Hurricane Lenny (11/13-11/21) pressure 933 millibars max winds 155 mph category 4 hurricane. Lenny developed in the Caribbean and moved eastward peaking as a category 4 hurricane. Lenny would make landfall in the Antilles as a category 4 and 3 hurricane before heading out to sea. Lenny claimed 17 lives and caused $850 million in damages.

The 1999 season featured a lot of long lived hurricanes as the season's Total Accumulated Cyclonic Energy was over 176. Also, all the major hurricanes were category 4 hurricanes at some point which was historic at that time. The season finished with 12 named storms, 8 hurricanes and 5 becoming major hurricanes.

While most of the storms in the 1999 season impacted land Floyd and Lenny were the most destructive hurricanes. Floyd and Lenny would have their names retired the following year. Overall, the 1999 season 136 deaths and $8.45 Billion. The 1999 season continued a trend of destructive hurricanes.

While this season has since been passed by other destructive hurricanes 26 years ago this season was historic due to the long lived hurricanes, all major hurricanes becoming category 4, and the impacts of Floyd and Lenny. Also the season started off slow but this season is now infamous for activity in the later months of the hurricane season.

I'm surprised I did good yesterday as it was a slow day for me and I did not get to post like I would have wanted. The main reason was I had a doctors appointment
