This guide will go through everything in Five Nights at Freddy's 3 to 100% completion.

Night 1

Active Specimen - None
Difficulty Level - You can't die.

Once you start a new game, you will be introduced to a newspaper that tells of the opening of Fazbear's Fright, a horror attraction based on the pizzeria that once existed 20 years ago. Once the newspaper disappears, you will begin Night 1. Once it begins, you will get a phone call/message from your boss, dubbed "Phone Dude" by fans. Listen to these messages carefully, since they will teach you some mechanics of the game and also give out some lore hints. Below is a summary of the transcript of the phone call for Night 1. Only the parts of the phone call that explain gameplay mechanics will be below.

"Uh-when the place opens, people will come in at the opposite end of the building, and work their way towards you, then past you and out the exit. Uh-You'll be starring as... The security guard! So not only will you be monitoring the people on the cameras as they pass through, y'know, to make sure no one steals anything or makes out in the corner, but you'll also be a part of the show. You can check the security cameras over to your right with a click of that blue button. Uh, you can toggle between the hall cams and the vent cams... Uh, then over to your far left, uh, you can flip up your maintenance panel. Y'know, use this to reboot any systems that may go offline. Uh, the most important thing you want to watch for is the ventilation. Look, this place will give you the spooks, man, and if you let that ventilation go offline, then you'll start seeing some crazy stuff, man. Keep that air flowin'."

If you take a look at the layout of the building, you will see the entrance at the top-right and the exit near the bottom-left. The antagonist will start from the entrance and will eventually make his way to your office, which happens to be right next to the exit.  In the cameras, you will see a button labeled "Switch Cam". If you click it, the cameras will switch to the vents. Double click on a vent camera to seal the vent. On your left, you will find your matinence panel. This is essential for survival. Systems may go offline periodically due to many reasons. Like the phone call said, Ventilation is the most important system. If the ventilation goes offline, the antagonist will seem to appear in multiple places at once, giving you no clue on where he actually is. Nothing happens this night, so just wait until 6 AM to finish Night 1.

Once Night 1 ends, you will play a quick minigame where you can control Freddy. A purple bear that looks similar to Freddy will tell you to follow him. Once you follow him, you'll eventually reach a point that you can't access. Walk away from that point, and Michael Afton (Purple Guy) will take apart Freddy, and the minigame ends.

Night 2

Active Specimen: Springtrap, Phantom Balloon Boy, Phantom Mangle
Difficulty: Easy

Night 2 is when the fun begins. Like almost every night, a phone call will play once you begin the night. A summary of this phone call is shown below.

"For ease of operation, the animatronics are set to turn and walk towards sounds they hear which is an easy and hands-free approach to making sure the animatronics stay where the children are for maximum entertainment/crowd-pleasing value."

That's pretty much the only useful thing the phone call says tonight pertaining to game mechanics. On your cameras, there is a button that says "Play Audio". If you click it, it will play audio over the speakers in the room you are currently viewing. Use the audio to lure Springtrap to a desired location. This is the only way to stop Springtrap other than sealing a vent he manages to get into. The vents allow for Springtrap to move around the building much faster, so be sure to close a vent if he gets in one.

Phantom Balloon Boy may appear multiple times tonight. He can appear on any camera that you are viewing, and the only way to avoid him is to switch cameras before you stare at him for too long. If you stare at him for too long, he will jumpscare you and shut the Ventilation off, making it easier for Springtrap to kill you.

You may also see Phantom Mangle. Phantom Mangle only appears on the camera with the Foxy lamp at random, and there is no way to avoid it. Once you see Phantom Mangle, she will shut off the ability to play audio. To finish the night, survive until 6 AM.

Once you finish the night, a minigame similar to the last minigame will play, except this time you are controlling Bonnie. The same thing that happened to Freddy in the last minigame happens to Bonnie too, so just repeat what you did last time. Once the minigame ends, Night 3 will begin.

Night 3

Active Specimen: Springtrap, Phantom Balloon Boy, Phantom Mangle, Phantom Freddy, Phantom Chica
Difficulty: Medium

Another phone call will play once you start Night 3. There isn't really anything worthy of mentioning in this guide pertaining to tonight's phone call. Springtrap, Phantom Balloon Boy, and Phantom Mangle all have the same mechanics, but they are harder to keep from getting affected by them.

Phantom Freddy appears at random outside your window. He will slowly walk to the other side unless you pay attention to him. The only way to avoid his attack is to pay no attention to him. He will shut off your ventilation if he attacks you.

Phantom Chica also appears at random. Her attack is only triggered if you view the camera with the arcade cabinets and her face is in one of the arcade machines. There is no way to avoid this attack other than ignoring this camera, which I suggest you not do, because Springtrap could be in there. She will shut off your ventilation if she attacks you.

Once you finish Night 3, another minigame will start that is similar to the previous ones. This time you are controlling Chica. It has the same consequences to carry on with the minigame and you will move on to Night 4.

Night 4

Active Specimen: Springtrap, Phantom Balloon Boy, Phantom Mangle, Phantom Freddy, Phantom Chica, Phantom Foxy, Phantom Puppet
Difficulty: Hard

Once the night begins, you will receive yet another phone call. Just like last time, there isn't really anything of interest pertaining to gameplay mechanics in this phone call. Springtrap, Phantom Balloon Boy, Phantom Mangle, Phantom Freddy, and Phantom Chica all have the same mechanics, but with a boosted difficulty.

Phantom Foxy activates when you are looking at the cameras for too long. If you look at the cameras for too long, there is no way to avoid his attack. He will shut off the ventilation.

Phantom Puppet is probably the most deadly of the bunch. He is only activated in the camera with the flashing Chica head. If he appears on camera, there is no way to avoid him. He will shut off the ventilation as well as take up your time by unabling you to do anything until his attack ends.

Once Night 4 is done, you go into another minigame, this time controlling Foxy. The end is the same as with Freddy, Bonnie, and Chica, so proceed on to Night 5.

Night 5

Active Specimen: Springtrap, Phantom Balloon Boy, Phantom Mangle, Phantom Freddy, Phantom Chica, Phantom Foxy, Phantom Puppet.
Difficulty: Hard

Once the night begins, a phone call will play. There isn't anything of value in this phone call pertaining to gameplay. Every specimen here is active and they are harder to avoid. Once you beat the night, a minigame will play, and you will be rewarded with a star on the title screen.

In this minigame, you are playing as the spirit of a child. There is no one to follow, and you can finally enter the room that Michael kept going in. Once inside, you will see the Spring Bonnie suit as well as Michael and the other spirits he released. Follow Michael around the room. He will eventually go inside the Spring Bonnie suit. He will chuckle, then the springlocks will close in on him, killing him almost instantly. The minigame ends at this point.

You will be shown a screen that says "Bad Ending". Below is how to get the Good Ending.

Good Ending
To get the good ending, you must get through various minigames in a certain way on certain nights.

Night 1
There is no minigame to play during Night 1.

Night 2
To access the first minigame, you must double-click on the poster of Balloon Boy on CAM 08. Once you do so, you will be taken to the minigame. Collect all the balloons, but do not enter the door. There is a secret wall in the top left that can be jumped through. Jumping through this wall will take you to the bottom of the minigame. Follow the path to the end and ignore all exit doors. Touch the flashing balloon at the end to finish the minigame.

Next, you must go to the arcade machine on one of the cameras and press the buttons in the following order: Top Left, Bottom Left, Top Right, Bottom Right. Once you do so, you will begin Mangle's minigame. As you make your way to the right, make sure not to get caught by the kids running around. Collect your parts along the way. Do not enter the exit at the end. Jump over the exit to find a wall that can be jumped through. Follow the path and jump on the balloon platforms and reach the end. Grab the cake at the end to end the minigame.

Night 3
To access the next minigame, you must click on each cupcake you find around various cameras. The cupcakes are located on CAM 2, 3, 4, and 6. Once you find them all, Toy Chica's minigame will begin. Go down the first pit you see and hug the left wall to find a wall that can be moved through. Go up to the child to give him cake and end the minigame.

Night 4

To access the next minigame, you must enter a code in the wall tiles in the office. The code is as follows: 395248. The wall tiles are in place like a keypad on a phone. Once you enter the code, Fredbear's minigame will start. Go off the stage to phase out of the area and fall to the next area. The minigame is layed out by a 3x3 grid, so this can be a little tricky. Go to the bottom right-most area where there is an exit door, but do not enter through it. Jump on the left wall of the bottom-right room. You will be taken up to the top of the room. Jump left on top of the bottom center room. Jump up and you will be phased into the bottom center room. Jump on the right side of the wall in this room, and you will be brought to the top of this room. Jump up and you will phase into the top center room. Jump to the left side of the room, and you will be brought to the top of the map. Jump right and phase through the wall to reach a room with a crying child. Walk up to him and give him cake to end the minigame.

Night 5
To access the next minigame, you must double-click the Shadow Bonnie figure on the desk in your office. Once you do this, you will be taken to Shadow Bonnie's minigame. Pressing down will allow the minigame areas to switch. Go to Balloon Boy's minigame and jump through the top left corner just like last time. Next, go to the minigame where you see a crying child. Get to the child and give him cake to finish the minigame.

To access the final minigame, go to CAM 3 and double-click on the poster of the Puppet. This will begin a minigame in which you play as a crying child. Simply walk right to reach the end of the room to finish the minigame and get the Good Ending. This will reward you with another star on the title screen.

Nightmare
Active Specimen: Springtrap, Phantom Balloon Boy, Phantom Mangle, Phantom Freddy, Phantom Chica, Phantom Foxy, Phantom Puppet
Difficulty: Very Hard

Nightmare mode is basically Night 6. Once you begin the night, you will receive a phone call. The phone call doesn't have any use other than lore. All of the specimen tonight are active and they are all harder to avoid than before. Use what you learned throughout the game and practice until you beat it. This will reward you with a third star on the title screen.

Aggressive Nightmare
To get the fourth and final star in the game, you must finish Nightmare mode with only the Aggressive cheat enabled. This is basically the 20 mode of this game. It is almost near impossible to beat this without lots and lots of practice. Use everything you got, and if you don't give up, you will eventually succeed. Finishing this will unlock the fourth and final star in the game, completing Five Nights at Freddy's 3.
