Abe's Oddysee Review Hello again time to show another review of my favourite ps1 game. Now I played this on a demo disc but shortly my brother got the full game of it and I wasn't able to complete it back then until sometime ago. Can't remember when though.
Story 10 out of 10: When you start off with the story a voice starts to talk. And this person as he will appear to be. His name is Abe. An alien from rapture farms the biggest meat process in oddworld. And...a slave as well like the other aliens. He used to be the employee of the year until he did something he shouldn't had done. You will see him tied up and locked somewhere in some sort of a room. Abe crossed his meanest boss called Molluck. A weird name I know. So Abe will retell of what happened one night when he was working late. He appeared to somehow see a dim light of a door and eavesdropping on his boss and his friends meeting. Saying profits are low and he isn't happy but then had this cruel idea of idea of a new meat they can see that will skyroof their profits back to what it once was. And the new kind of meat....it was Abe and the other aliens! Shocked and terrified Abe decides to dash off and run this is where you get to play as Abe to help him get out of rapture farms as of other things that will awaits you....
Graphics 10 out of 10: Its more of a dark type since the story and game is in a dark place. There will be times when you reach further into the level you see colourful colours on different levels you get too. When left rapture farms.
Sound 10 out of 10: The music for this is pretty great. There are some sense of creepy and eerie in there. But not so much. There is more of suspense kinda of music at most times. But when you reach to certain other levels the music will become more loud like for instance a chasing music. This will happen when you run into a scrab. If you dunno what that is look it up to see. So there is a mix of suspect and quietness as well. Yeah there are quite music as well in some parts of the game. Making it even more tense. You can never know what will come around the corner to get you.
Addictiveness 10 out of 10: Its very addictive once you play you would want to know more about the game. And how far you can get before dying. When you make it to a certain way in the game your mind intensifies as of wanting to even further go into the game. Because of how the graphics will come at you.
Depth 10 out of 10: Yeah I say there is quite a lot of depth in here. In this game there are two different types of endings. There is the good ending and there is the bad ending. Once Abe makes it out of the rapture farms and is now away he is told that he has a destiny. What is that? Find out for yourself to play. But I tell you this you do not want to get the bad ending. There was a second game made after the first one called Abe's oddysee exoddus and to be honest I didn't play that game. Since I thought I wouldn't enjoy it more than the first game. There are many secret places you will have to find as well. And they are not easy. To find them? You got to listen to the sounds of if there are nearby machines. That's all I can tell you since I wouldn't want to spoil.
Difficulty 8 out of 10: It starts off easy but as you further go into the level and the game it will get harder. So it will be like a build up kind of thing. Like a height measure.
Overall 9.6: Its amazing game to play very unique and very different to other ps1 games. Which should catch your interest. Give it a try and you might like what you see. Its something very much worth playing.
Thank you again for reading this review. So until then. ^-^
