I've been using Lucas for a while now, but I just not sure if he should be my main.  Can someone give me a suggestion for a character that has these qualities?
-Great at combos
-Easy at recovery (for off ground attacks)
-Not too floaty, but can jump okay
-Not too fast (like Sonic)
-Not too slow (like Ganondorf)
Please reply if you have an idea on who I should use.

My personal choice has always been Link. In my opinion, he is always perfectly balanced. It should be noted I haven't played anything past the first title released for Wii. Link's attacks have a good balance of range, power, and quickness. If you need to attack from a distance, he has things like the bow, boomerang, and bombs to use as well. He can also use his grapple technique from a slight distance as well, another advantage I consistently use. He's an all around great character, and in my opinion, one of the best fighters in the game.

I haven't played the newer Smash games yet, but I have to agree with Mynamescox44 and say Link. He's fast enough but not too fast, agile without sacrificing a lot of power, and has a diverse move set, plus (as of the last Smash I've played) has a great recovery.

And finally it isn't exactly a combo but his grab and upward special (again, assuming it hasn't changed) make a good basic move combo that can KO easily.

I'm sure you'd prefer someone's opinion who has played the new Smash games, but here's my two cents anyway. Lol

I had done training with Link and Toon Link and found that Toon Link might be my new main.  The great thing is that Toon Link isn't very different from Lucas, but still has the positives that I'm looking for.  Thanks for the help guys.

The ones that I would suggest are Fox and Link, who also happen to be the ones that I use the most as well because I find that they both play really well.

Bowser is great if you know how to use him. When you think of it, he's not very slow, and has great offense and defense. Heck, he can already launch an opponent at 50%. He's not too slow, not too fast, an ok jump, good recovery, and excellent combos. I've been using him for a while now.

greenluigi: "He's not too slow" ... Well, I mean, literally every single one of his attacks has lots of start lag and endlag, as well as having very slow air speed and walking speed, but whatever. He's also the easiest character to combo due to his weight and falling speed. On the other hand, he's got amazing punishes in case the opponents mess up. They make one mistake, all you need is three hits to kill.

GoombaGuy : Sounds like either Toon Link or Mario would be great for you. Like you said, Toon Link isn't much different than Lucas and he has all you are looking for (except perhaps recovery). For combos I would recommend mixing some aerials and uncharged smash-attacks with his bombs and boomerangs to extend the combos. Also, I must recommend you don't go too far off the stage for edgeguarding, that's one of his worst aspects.

Mario, on the other hand, I feel like is a great choice for anyone. He was designed to be great in all aspects, but not the best in anything. He's not super fast, but he's fast enough to control easily and still have good movement, he's got great combos, his playstyle is SUPER flexible (you could play any way you want and get away with it), he's good in both close-quarters and defensive combat, he's very easy to pick up, and he's got a pretty good recovery if you know how to utilize it.
