I just bought the game Front Mission Evolved for PS3 and I am disappointed. There is no strategy here,it is hop in the mech and cause mayhem. I do like that,but they just made it so...wrong. I would have approved of some more action in the strategy game,but to turn it into an action game/so-so FPS is beyond unforgivable. I would like to know your thoughts if you played it.

I was unhappy to see this transition as well...
I loved all the Front Mission strategy games.

Its not a terrible game, but I would much rather see another FM strategy instead of an Armored Core clone...

Well said,Vanelan. I did not think of it as an Armored Core clone. But I can see it. It is not that bad,but they should have kept it true to its roots. I loved in FM3 when you could eject a pilot,kill them off,and you get yourself a free mech. That was the key to winning many battles,kill off the pilot and you take the mech out of the fight.

It's not the only thing they've screwed up lately. FF7 will be an episodic game. I have no clue how that would even work (well) for a JRPG...

I was very disappointed when I saw what Front Mission had become. Granted I'm not that huge of a fan but I enjoyed playing the game casually. I don't know why they would decide to take a strategy game and turn it into a mindless shoot em up. If they wanted to make a game like that it's fine. It may not be my cup of tea but it is a very fun genre. However what Square Enix did was basically take an RPG and turn it into Call of Duty meets mechs.

For what it's worth, Double Helix Games is who developed the game and Square Enix was simply the publishers. Same case as how Bungee developed Halo, yet Microsoft Studios published the game for them.
