I think these days that Video updates do WAYYY better and get more attention than Text ones do. Also, you might get added attention/users from Youtube for making these videos. I think this would be a GREAT idea if embedded on the Index page.

Vanelan : I was just thinking, maybe once per a day I could have a full page notification that lets a user know that they haven't read the latest announcements. I could even do the same thing with Private Messages.

Jordanv78 : I agree, everything and everyone is more visual now days. People could even just listen to the video while doing other things and with it being available on YouTube, they can watch the video on their mobile devices as well.

Davideo7 : It really can't be stated enough. Crazy how often people nowadays don't read the "Announcements" section. Like wouldn't you be interested in what those numbers mean?? lol I don't get it.

But I think this would be the best bet to get people to actually watch them, and I really think if you made a separate channel for the updates, you could probably monetize that channel and make money off that with little worry about copyright claims (if done right) So not only would you possibly attract new users, you would be getting $$

Davideo7 : I'm not sure what would be best actually. I think the Vizzed Productions Channel but also on your personal channel as well.
People who isn't familiar with Vizzed won't probably care as much if they see them on your personal channel and I think it's more fitting in the productions one. When it comes to members of Vizzed and my personal opinion as well I think seeing the updates on your channel would be best. So I guess you could post them on both?

Could you also make a full screen overlay that plays the video? I know there are some ads that do that.

Jordanv78 : Yeah and I can't see how the users would be easily able to ignore them because all users of the Newbie powerlevel have a flashing "NEW" icon next to the PM inbox and Announcements.

I probably wouldn't monetize the videos only because I wouldn't want to give the viewer any reason to not watch it.


Skilledtree : When I start doing these you can definitely give feedback or come up with ideas on how you could help out.


0ddie : I'll think about it more and figure out which one I want to go with. If the videos are 100% done by me with no collaboration, then I may just do my personal channel. If others are involved with helping me put it together, then I definitely think it'd make more sense on the Vizzed Productions channel.
