Ocarina of time

Graphics 8/10

I was first wowed by the graphics when playing Ocarina of time when first released. Admittedly, the graphics are now a little dated but I don't let that put you off.
The backdrop for the Ocarina Of Time is vast.
Hyrule is split into different maps, typically of Zelda a water, desert, forest as well as mountains. Each are distinguishable from each other and very memorable. Unlike most modern games, there is colour rather than different hues of grey and green.
I would score not just the graphics but general appearance.
The characters are different in appearance and monsters are wide ranging in their look too.

Sound 10/10

The theme tune to Ocarina is one that will stay with me for some time. The Ocarina itself lets you play sonnets which allow you to warp from place to place, change  day to night, even age from young Link to adult Link. Whilst short, the sonnets are memorable and fit in well with the game. The different maps have their own catchy tunes but I must confess, the Lost Woods tune gets irritating when your lost trying to find your path through the woods!
The sounds of opening a chest, Navi; the fairy that guides you throughout, calling you or even flying around you are all sounds that resonate even now with me.
Sound features a lot throughout Ocarina Of Time. Not a game to play mute as so much will be missed, especially finding the 100 spiders where a sound can be heard to find them. Playing side quests are enjoyable with the music too for example fishing area has a very compatible and relaxing tune.
The sound of your bow as you draw a arrow, Epona galloping through Hyrule, the sound effects of your sword as your in battle can not be bettered.
The soundtrack to this game is second to none.

Addictive 8/10

The game as a whole I would not say is overly addictive. I have completed the game 3 times and enjoyed the time spent playing Ocarina Of Time. But there is a lot of time to be invested to see the game from start to finish. Finishing a temple can take roughly 2 hours. Whilst this is not a criticism, I do not think the game is one you would play repeatedly as the journey is not short.

Story 8/10

Princess Zelda has been captured and it is the responsibility of the lead character to free the Princess from her captor Ganandorf. That's the short version! There are several entwined side quests to undertake on your way. Friendships are made during the game and characters appear on a few occasions throughout.
The overall goal is a bit repetitive to other end results within the franchise, but who cares when there is loads of enjoyment to have in the process!

Depth 9/10

The world of Ocarina is vast. There is so much to do outside of the main goal of the game that you can easily spend lots of time doing. Archery training, fishing, racing with Gorons and horseback archery as well as shooting Poes on horseback. Zelda games always stand out from other RPGs as they draw you in and added touches like this are why. Even riding Epona, your trusted horse is a joy, just riding for the hell of it to take in the surroundings, observe the change from day to night and varying sounds whilst you gallop.

Difficulty 7/10

The game itself if not difficult but it dies take time. To collect all pieces of heart and all spiders is however a different matter. I have tried on my 3rd attempt of the game to collect everything using a guide and failed.
The water temple, now that's frustrating! Changing the water level, getting lost, realising you have the wrong level of water within the temple and then trying to figure out what the hell you need to do next (arrgghhh!) I must say that the water temple succeeds as being the hardest temple within the game.
All other temples are enjoyable. The bosses and mini bosses differ  in appearance and whilst the way to defeats them differs, there is a clue on how to defeat them which is not always that obvious.
You also have to take down your alter ego in Dark Link. He counters nearly every move you make so not so easy.
Last boss is not too difficult to defeat but just when you think its over....its not! I shall say no more on that.
The more pieces of heart you have, the easier the game is.  Collect jars and fairies when you can, you will need them!

This is a good review! I only spotted a couple of problems with it. First, simple grammar mistakes. You may be of a different language or country, and that's fine, just try to use grammar to the best of your ability. Second, why is there no overall score? That's one of the biggest things a review should have. Other than that, this is a good review. I look forward to future reviews by you.

Wow, this was an excellent review! You structured it well and you gave ample details as to why you loved it. I would have like a few comparisons to past/present Zelda games, but it's a high 5 nevertheless!
