OK, where do I start on this game...? I know it's a time in gaming history, I know games won't be the same without this game, but I can't help but review this. (P.S. Someone give my mom a "Mom of the Year" trophy for saying that it's going be hard writing a review for this game because anyone who plays that game will get nothing out of it but a melted brain)

Graphics - 5

I would've been harsher on the graphics and probably have given it a 2 if I didn't remember that this was made back in the 1980s and that's the quality of game graphics back then, so don't think I actually like this game because I gave the graphics something higher than a 3, I'm just being nice because it's Atari.

Sound - 1

I actually checked to see if I could leave the sound a blank because there is literally little to no sound. I think I can sum up the sound in just two lines:

Intro music.

E.T. walking and falling into holes.

Enough said.

Addictiveness - 1

I made a mistake playing this. I wasted an hour of my life by playing this. Why would you think I want to play this again? I am so sorry if you're offended by me ranting about this game, but I'm really ticked that I decided to make a poor life choice and try to play this. It was a really bad idea.

Story - 4

I've never seen the E.T. movie(s?), so bare with me here as I write down what I understand about the story: E.T. is a little green pixelated alien that got sent down to Earth due to unknown reasons. He's supposed to find pieces of some alien technology that got scraped off the ship so that the ship can track the technology to get it and rescue E.T....and then he falls in holes a lot and then some dude picks him up and takes him to what I think is Rome set back in the ancient times.

How accurate was I there?

Depth - 6

This is what happened when I was rating this:

Me: -Writing review and rating it-
Depth: How big the game is and how much is offers; if it is
a game that takes a while to beat or has a lot to do, rate it high.
Me: I played this game for an hour and I'm not even close to finishing it. Might as well at least rate it a 6.

Not that this game has a lot to do, except for fall in holes and get taken to Rome, this game will take a while to beat because about 90% of the game you're going to be falling in holes even when you're not close to one.

Overall - 4.5
Overall without Difficulty included - 2.8

A kind person with the username of zanderlex told me that "Keep in mind that it's best not to count the difficulty in the overall score because that's not really something that tells how good a game is because difficulty can either be liked or not liked, so if somebody doesnt like hard games and the game is an 8, they wouldnt like it so the grade would be lower. " So I'm taking his advice. Hopefully I'm taking it right. Good news that it's been a day and my first review hasn't been removed.

This is a very good review, especially for your second review! I think you really have what it takes to become an amazing review maker. The only thing I'd suggest is to expand a tiny bit more on some categories and it will be perfect! Keep up the good work, and I'm looking forward to your next review!

Thank you! Many people say that I have an amazing gift for writing short stories and poems. I decided to step out of my writing boundaries and write reviews. It's good to know that I'm good at writing almost anything!

This is only your second? That's really good stuff!

It's clear you have the writing part of the review down, but you've still got room to improve with the actual analysis part of the review. Don't feel afraid to look aspects of the game up if you're uncertain; just make sure you put it in your own words and give your own opinion of those aspects in question. Granted, the more you can remember of a game, the better, but when you try to review a game that you're not certain on (and its language is actually in English unlike my first game review), feel free to make sure you know what's going on if you're uncertain.

You have to remember the limits of the console in question, too, and try to realize when the lack of something is due to the bad quality of the game, or the hardware limitations of the console itself. A good example of this is when you were talking about sound. While it is true that E.T. has no music past its intro theme, many games on the Atari 2600 suffered from this. It's a bit unfair to give this such a low overall score for the game itself when the console is mostly to blame here.

All in all, superb review, especially as one of your first ones. Keep working at it; you can really do well in this.

Reviews for terrible games are always hard, so I salute your effort. I even liked the touch of humor you used in the Story section. It's note quite the scenario from the movie, but I guess one couldn't guess from watching the game é
