If I had a nickel for every time some person interrupted what I was just saying to say that they moments ago heard what I said wrong and have a laugh about that as though they are funny somehow, I would be crushed by an enormous pile of nickels if I were to have them coming to me all at once. This is particularly frustrating when I am setting up a joke and now nobody is engaged with me finishing my sentence with a punch line. Do I finish my train of thought or leave in a huff?
