Man, it's been a slow news day...

Anyways, today we are talking about Star Wars Battlefront related goodness.

On Tuesday, the Star Wars beta dropped for the Xbox, Playstation, and the PC. I haven't played it too much myself, but I played it for about an hour or two with my friends. It's a lot better than I predicted it would be, in the sense that it's more fun.

Now, because I don't have a lot of stuff to talk about it, I'm going to be sourcing Polygons article to hopefully spread some more knowledge, source will be located at the bottom.

"...my first few hours with Battlefront’s multiplayer beta on PlayStation 4 left me supremely impressed. This game is stunning. Yes, I know that my eyes can deceive me, that I shouldn't trust them. But dang. In 2015, developer EA DICE knows how to make a gorgeous game on the PS4." said Dave Tach of Polygon.

What he's talking about here is how we all know that you shouldn't judge a game as soon as you get it. Everything has a novelty period, and it can obviously inflate your initial thoughts on it. He goes on to say how one of the first things that he notices is the attention to detail. Apparently, the game really took a focus on things that Star Wars fans would really like to see, which is obviously a great thing to hear for us Battlefront fans from the PS2 era.

Dave Tach goes on a bit later to say: "I kept noticing it all, impressed by the level of detail. I swear, at one point, a Stormtrooper I was shooting stumbled and fell in a way that felt so familiar to me that the animation must have been cribbed from a movie."

With that attention to detail, especially in the beta, you really get a sense that they are trying to make a great game that both old and new fans will love. Another member of Polygon, Charlie Hall, goes on to say that although the game has high benchmark standards (Don't worry about this if you use an Xbox or PS4), he was able to run the game well with his higher-end graphics card and his older CPUs at a nice 60fps 1080p. I personally haven't seen anyone play it on PC yet, so I can't give an opinion on this topic or any breakdown of anything PC related.

Charlie does go on to let us know that he didn't like a certain part of the beta. "My only concern with the vehicles so far are the fighters. They feel awkward, not so much like they're flying through the air as they're attached to pegs being held out in front of the camera." I personally haven't heard this complaint too much from many people, but it's good to get the possible negatives reported, too. Apparently the controls are just wonky, but it's unknown if that's by design or not.

There's a lot more good information in the source article, but I wanted to add a personal touch.

Going in, I thought it would feel like a reskinned battlefield. It's actually not that bad though, it has the large scale fighting you remember, it's graphics are very well done, and overall it's just fun.

So there you have it! Thanks for reading, and don't forget to check out the source article for more information if interested!
