A Brutal Mario Review.... ....By VizzedGuy111

Introduction So in 1990, a Mario game named Super Mario World. somewhat changed the Mario series forever. It was a game produced by Nintendo, and it was astonishing hit. It contained the same formula as Super Mario Bros., run and jump to avoid enemies and get to the goal. Pretty straightforward but Super Mario World changed things a bit, oh it changed things all right. It improved upon the formula in a few ways. Secrets, new moves, new items, powerups, and levels. Then there was also hacking, modding, and homebrew. Those type of occupation helped improve upon the game in a few different, and sometimes unique ways. Those include: New textures, New Levels, New Items, New Movement, and even unlikely a new story. Now let's discuss about Brutal Mario. Brutal Mario are all those things I talked about and that game is a really interesting rom hack to begin with. Now normally Mario World hacks are pretty great and sometimes can be pretty substandard (no offense ). However, this hack is actually appreciable in my opinion! This hack has some features like I listed and it somewhat increased those limits, might even break them! It included some things from other games and putted them in a Mario game, pretty crazy right? However, we're here to discuss how this game is AWESOME! Hey VizzedGuy111 here and I'm here to talk about Brutal Mario for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and to more specifically say, the demo version 7 of Brutal Mario. Like I said we're here to talk about why this game is awesome so we have to talk about the 6 main factors, Graphics, Sound, Addictiveness, Story, Depth, Difficulty, and finally and Overall to judge the game overall. I mean this review will probably be pretty long, so you may wanna watch out, k? Anyway, now we got the introduction out of the way, it's now time to jump into this review! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Graphics 8/10 So for the graphics, I'd give it a 8.0/10. It's quite superlative as the graphics are Mario World graphics combined with other SNES games to make the graphics in this game look extraordinary. Sure it doesn't use a Special FX chips, and sure the graphics doesn't really pop out to you like Super Metroid or maybe Super Contra, but I think the creator took some investment of time to import the sprites into the game. You basically have Yoshi sprites (I think), Donkey Kong sprites, and even Final Fantasy sprites! However, I kind of wish the same for the animation though.... For the animation it's okaayy? I have to admit it's kind of mediocre now that you think of it. The Mario World animations are the same, but the custom are kind of boring. The bosses does attacks in which they barely move like firing attacks or whatever. If the creator took some time to do more animations for the custom sprites, the bosses would be more cooler to fight (despite them being still cool to fight though). So now sound. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sound 6/10 To be honest, I'd give this a 5.0/10 but for now I'd give it a 6.0/10. I know the sound is pretty much the same as in Mario World but I like the sound. You would hear Mario jumping on top of goombas, the spinning sound effect, and the sound you'd get from defeating enemies with the said spinning attack. Hearing the sounds feel somewhat satisfactory and it feels kind of fun, you know? That's the quick part, now here's another quick part, the music. The music is the same again as Mario World (I think) so don't be expected about feeling good about navigating through levels by hearing Final Fantasy music or maybe Super Metroid music. That's all I have to say, huh. Now for Addictiveness! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Addictiveness 9/10 Oh ho ho ho! This is going to be ONE of my favorite parts of the review. Other being Depth. The addictiveness is quite monumental because of the depth. You can be probably be expected to play this game again probably because how hard and entertaining the game is! As you can see there are some cameos in this game and you know it's pretty great. Sorry if the the addictiveness and the depth isn't that entertaining for you, so sorry. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Story 2/10 The story is quite bad and not lengthy in my opinion so I would give it a 2.0/10. Now the story isn't at least compelling but at least it's different from the whole "Princess Cliche". Mario was hungry, so since there was a lot of dinosaurs in Dinosaur Land, he went out to eat some. I might write the new story by writing a new post so stay tight and positive! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Depth 8/10 The depth is actually quite massive so I'd give it an 8.0/10. Brutal Mario, though unfinished has a samurai Kirby game from Kirby Super Star, Mario and Cameo boss battles, and new mechanics. The levels are awfully unique with themed levels and average platforming and underwater levels. It can be challenging and frustrating to get to all of those levels and that's why I'm moving to Difficulty! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Difficulty 8/10 They don't call it BRUTAL Mario World for nothing don't they? 8.0/10. The levels are packed with content and also can be excruciating difficult. There are pits, lava, spikes, annoying enemies, bosses, and other obstacles to get in your way. It's kind of satisfying to beat the level since it's perplexing so, yeah. Good job guys! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Overall 8.9/10 The presentation or the overall of the game is actually really good and quite rewarding. You get to play as Mario, going through to all those unique and fantastic levels. It can be fun and satisfying and you should play the game! Anyway I'm done with this review and I hope you enjoy it. I did other reviews and I got to admit, this review is great! I hope you enjoy it and play the games I reviewed.
