Note: this story is not for people who do not like violence.
Chapter 1 - The Channel 6 News "Okay, class," Mrs. Johnson said. "We are going to do a little project today." See, Mrs. Johnson was a teacher at the George Washington High School. To be more specific, she was a 10th grade social studies teacher. "So, today's project is only a few paragraphs about current events. And where are you going to find these current events? Well, there will be no place better than the news," she said as she waved a remote control around, "and I won't be flipping through channels or turning off the TV for the rest of the period. So, let's see what's on. Any good channels?" A few students chimed in. They wanted to watch channels such as channel 2 (which wasn't on the TV), channel 43 (the cartoon channel), channel 25 (the sports network), and channel 88 (MTV). But only one student had an actual news channel, which was channel 6. "Channel 6 it is!" Mrs. Johnson said. She picked up the remote and turned on the TV. “Now, the Channel 6 News at Noon!” said an announcer. “Today’s top stories: thunderstorms bring heavy rain to the metropolitan area. Three people have gone missing yesterday. Finally, schools in our area might get a major change,” said a woman, presumably a news anchor. A knock was heard on the classroom door. Peeking in was the principal of the school, Mr. Chambers. He was gesturing at Mrs. Johnson to exit the classroom and have a chat. “Okay, class. I’ll be back in a bit. Don’t act up!” Mrs. Johnson said. She rose from her seat and exited the classroom. “Bye!” Thomas, one of Mrs. Johnson’s students said, sarcastically. “Yeah, bye!” said Jack, one of Thomas’s friends. “Hello. I’m Lisa Withers with fellow news anchor James Brundin. But first,” the news anchor said, “a popular restaurant is to open soon. Our Channel 6 reporter Kimberly Jackson is live with us now.” The screen went from the news anchor to Kimberly Jackson. “Yeah, Lisa. Today will mark the first day that the popular pizzeria Fresca Pizza will open again. The restaurant closed in 2010 after Hurricane Alex’s destruction. Here, we are talking with Gary Stevens, who first opened this place in 1996.” “Hey,” said Jack, talking to Thomas, “wanna go there next weekend?” “Sure!” Thomas exclaimed, with joy. “So, Gary,” said Kimberly, “how does it feel to be running this restaurant again?” “Well,” Gary said, “it’s nice to know that the business is back up and running. Since the summer is almost here, I hope to meet many customers!” “That’s very nice, Gary,” Kimberly said. “Hopefully, you’ll get to--” A gunshot was heard, followed by screaming. “Oh my goodness!” Elle, a student, screamed. Everyone in the class started talking to each other. Then, a masked man came on the television. “Pick up the camera!” the man screamed, pointing a gun at the cameraman. The cameraman picked up the camera. “Listen up, folks. I am a dangerous man. You should all fear me. I’ll be around town taking the lives of innocent people. Where should I go to first? The school? The offices downtown? I don’t know.” The masked man shot the cameraman, Kimberly, and Gary. He then ran away. The TV went back to Lisa. “Uhh…” she said, “I think we’re gonna go to a commercial break.” A commercial then started playing. “What should we do?” asked Jack. “I have no clue!” responded Elle, worried. “I’ll go get Mrs. Johnson or Mr. Chambers,” said Thomas. He then darted out the classroom, running towards the principal’s office. Then, Mrs. Johnson walked in to the classroom. "So, what did I miss?" "Mrs. Johnson," Elle said, "there's a big problem! Some guy might come to the school with a gun!" "Yeah!" Jack chimed in. "Thomas was just going to get you." "Okay, maybe they will put the school on lock down," Mrs. Johnson said. At school, they prepared for things like this, so it was going to be easy for the school to go on lock down. A few minutes later, an announcement was heard. "Excuse me for the interruption. The school will now be going on lock down. This is not a drill. Please close all windows, put your shades down, and lock the doors. The school will not go out of lock down until the key word is heard. I repeat, the school will now be going on lock down. This is not a drill. Please close all windows, put your shades down, and lock the doors. The school will not go out of lock down until the key word is heard. Thank you." "That was Mr. Chambers," Elle said. "Okay, class," said Mrs. Johnson. "Go to where you can hide. We have practiced this before. And no talking!" Chapter 1 - The Channel 6 News "Okay, class," Mrs. Johnson said. Before I get into what I was going to say: I know you've been on the site a long time and I don't want to be that guy. Please though, make your layout wider if you're not going to disable it. That was a lot more difficult reading than it needed to be haha. Anyways, surprising choice of story. It's a lot shorter than I wanted though, where's the action! I know, I know, chapter two and all. Like I said, a surprising choice for a story setting, but I've never been against reading something that's out of the norm. When do you plan on doing Chapter 2? Anyways, surprising choice of story. Skilledtree : Well, I was waiting for someone like you to come along. About the layout, I have been a member for over 4 years and I'm still not a Trusted member. I just want that access to more options... ...but, about chapter 2? Umm...I was hoping for a more popular demand. Here's what. If you can get more people to read the story, I'll make a chapter 2. ...but, about chapter 2? Umm...I was hoping for a more popular demand. Here's what. mario102 : Ah I understand. Well hey, I can't really go around advertising without "spamming," but maybe with TdV being active right now, more people will stumble across this. If it doesn't garner attention, than I'd understand why you'd choose not to continue. I was going to write stories too, but I noticed that the story section really doesn't get much love and attention. Yeah, and sorry for complaining about the layout. I hate being that guy :/ I personally ended up changing my layout because I tend to write larger posts and wanted people to not have to scroll constantly. I feel you on the trusted thing, I kind of wish I could just at least make a custom layout. You'll get there eventually though (At least that's what I tell myself, personally). Side note: I just read your layout's signature, and it's ironic that I said I like things out of the norm - and your signature is literally about being out of the norm. You live up to the name! Skilledtree : You're probably right. I think I might just get a new chapter out next week. And by the way, I had no idea that the TdV was going on. :p |

*chants* Chapter two, chapter two, chapter... you get the idea.
This is an interesting start, and I'm not sure where it may go next. I like that in a story, so hopefully you make another chapter to this one. On a side note, please check the rules of the story forum, as you broke one of the rules by leaving your layout turned on while posting a story. No worries though, I removed it. But please try to remember to disable your layout before posting a story in the future. Thanks. Oh, and did I mention, chapter two, chapter two.....
