So you think you have what it takes to become a rasher? Well then prepare to be headlong with traffic in this crash-course designed to help the newer generation learn the way of the no-holds-barred racing style that is Road Rash 3.  There will also be you-tube videos of my game play through these tracks (up until level 3 anyways where I ended up stopping due to work getting too busy

Level 1 Gameplay Footage

Okay so you got your first bike, a thousand bucks and a need to bash the nearest junkie's head into the pavement huh? Well you're going to want some information on some of these rashers before you go headlong, as some of them hold little tricks others won't. Especially later on in the game. There are two tracks you are greeted with in level 1 that will wreck your chances of winning every time if you're not prepared for them. The U.K, and Germany. BEWARE THE TURN!

Germany:
Ah the snowy alps of the German countryside. Rocking music, skiers who have no clue what to do, bumps, ice patches and logs strewn about the corkscrew roadways!  But be warned, a nasty surprise awaits you at about 4 miles in. Going over 90 will send you careening off the track, and more than likely, off your bike!

The U.K: Alright kiddies here's a little tip, in the U.K the roads are opposite! That's right, you heard me. Inbound traffic is on the RIGHT of the road, and will obliterate you every chance they get. Be on the watch for police copters as this track is notorious for these individuals to show up first!

The biggest pain in the neck you need to worry about in level 1's track selection, is:

Lucky Luc.
This rasher is found in 3rd place, on all tracks and tends to have quite a distance between the others. You'll find yourself kissing this guy's tailpipe most of the game. His weapon of choice is the Oil can, a devilish little device that slicks your tires and causes you to lose turning ability briefly and gives him a chance to pull away. It's even more annoying as the race tracks are short, only being around 7 miles.

How to avoid Really there is no direct way to avoid this attempt, as he tends to keep just a hair ahead and put his bike directly in front of yours. He's a real charmer no? Keep swerving and you're bound to hit his oil. But stick behind him and you won't make it.

How to pass: There is a neat little trick you can use that pushes your bike a bit faster, rapidly turning left and right (leaning) will give your tires more traction and push your engine.

HINT: If you play without music you can hear when your bike picks up this high-rev! Use this to get around Lucky or at least get up beside him and knock him off the bike.  Although the sound of the bike is rather whiny...

After you pass Lucky the game is pretty easy. The others are no where near as annoying. At least as far as level 1 goes.

NATASHA: Whatever you do; DON'T hurt this rider! She tends to ride just behind Lucky Luc in 4th place, 6th in Level 2. Basically keep an eye out for her! She tends to give helpful tips and let you pass. Also she gets pepper spray (Mace) in level 2, which REALLY can ruin your day! Don't mess with this lady Rasher, the moment you upset her, is the moment you get stuck dealing with her fighting you the entire game afterwards.

LEVEL 2 Part 1:  Gameplay Footage
LEVEL 2 Part 2:  Gameplay Footage

Okay so you got past Level 1 and you feel pretty good about your chances right? WRONG! That's only a taste of the brutality. A new track shall reveal itself in place of the normal 5th track, Australia, and a new string of weapons! The Nun-chucks and cattle prod. Two new contenders appear. Nina, and Bolo. These two are ruthless when it comes to combat!

TIP: But wait, I have a weapon from level 1! How can I hold another!? Well here's a quick tip! Holding UP on the D-pad (or whatever you have set for up on the D-pad) and pressing START, will cycle through your weapons! You can hold up to 3 weapons so choose wisely! Sadly I'm unsure of how to drop weapons.
When you get into level two, immediately find Ikira and wail on her. Take those nun-chucks and make 'em yours! You'll want them later... If she doesn't have 'em there are three individuals in the back of the pack that may have a chance of wielding them. I tend to pick on Rhonda personally

Australia:
Welcome to the outback! A wild and flat terrain filled with kangaroos and other treacheries that no doubt will bite you right where the sun ain't meant to shine! The rashers are more eager to kill you, the traffic is fast but minimal and the curves can be brutal!

The Rashers tend to fight much more ferociously from this point on! Be careful of them especially when you're in a wolf-pack of 'em all trying to hit you! Know when to hit and when to run. Or you'll end up on the pavement in a puddle of your own scrapped bike, oil and blood...

Level 3 Part 3:
Gameplay Footage

(ignore the Skype message sounds please, these videos are old and I'll be making new ones eventually.)
Welcome to the big leagues of the beginner guide and your last little tidbit of information involving the game's tracks and some of the rashers! P.E Num 1 (Public Enemy Number 1) is introduced along with a new weapon (joy!) The rashers are more punishing and even more using the nun-chucks. And that's not all! The massive steel jungle that is Tokyo is introduced. The last of the 7 different tracks in the game, and by far the most ridiculous road-hazard filled nightmare there is in the game!

P.E Num 1: Watch out for this one! A monster out for your blood and not willing to give up the top position easily, expect to be combating this one the entire race upon reaching 2nd!

Tokyo The jungle that has grown into the most densely populated region of technology, traffic, and darkness all wound up into a purple-hued nightmare of a racetrack. This track was MADE with the intent to make you rage, and will be the downfall of many victories! Keep your eyes open, your weapon ready and your thumb on the throttle like a hairpin trigger because you'll be needing to break on these sharp turns. This track is ALSO like the U.K, and traffic goes the opposite direction!

SOME WARNINGS and helpful advice:
1) Watch your money!: Police and your mechanic will sometimes give you a chance to race again if you can't pay off the damages by taking down someone in particular! You must knock them out before the end of the race. You DO NOT need to win, but if you fail to do so you WILL lose!

2) Don't think winning is everything! Play a few maps over a couple times, you'll make more money and prepare yourself for the following level.

3) Sometimes upgrading is better than buying a new bike. Other times you'll want to skip a bike and get a new one for some little boosts like better starting health or nitro!

4) Police choppers CAN drop on you and make you crash, do not stay under them! After a while they'll race ahead and land on the road attempting to crash you there too. When you get the chance take a ramp and land on top of the chopper! Make them crash on YOUR terms!

5) Police cruisers are a pain, if you can't pass them, force them to go into oncoming traffic and smash into another car, THEN go around!

6) Police bikes are slow, but they are persistent! If you pass them and you don't hear the siren keep racing. Make sure you don't hear that siren for at least 10 seconds before crashing or you may just end up seeing that same cop again!

7) Charge weapons (mace/oil/cattle prod) will deplete over time. When you deplete them you drop the empty weapon and can then pick up a new one!

8) Only pick up one weapon from level 1, you can then pick up more powerful weapons from level 2 and 3 such as the Nun-chucks and cattle prod.

9) hit someone off the starting line! You'll have some competition to push you forward the whole game!

10) Never underestimate the traffic. It can be your greatest asset, kick enemy A.I into oncoming cars, police cruisers, signs, anything to get that extra edge!

Good luck out there rashers. Let's see how you handle the adrenaline rush.

What will YOU do to become the next Road Rash champion?

Edit: Some reason the youtube linking didn't work so i just changed them out for normal links to the videos themselves. my apologies guys.
