The evil Luda has made off with the time machine and plans to control the world through different time periods and it is up to you, Reika, to chase him through time and stop him no matter what. Along the way, Luda obviously did a good job of convincing everyone that you are the enemy. There is a major difference between the US version and the Japanese version. In the latter, Reika wears much more skimpier clothing and there is some text changes like Pray to God turns into Wish for Hope.

The required action will flash and give you a hint of what to do. If you see her gun flash that means to fire. In the arcade version, you will need a press a button if you see her chest sensor flash. But on the Sega CD she does the Time Stop automatically and you chose the correct of the three actions to do. The wrong on will lead to a death scene. Other death scenes occur by pressing the wrong direction and these scenes are funny because she becomes chibified. Some of the death scenes are not even deaths unless you consider her dying of embarrassment like in one time period, part of her clothing will be ripped off.
 
For those that think they memorized this game and think they can play this game blindfolded, do even bother trying to do so because some levels will be reversed when you start them. I decided to cover that scenario in case you happen to run into that little situation.
