OVERVIEW
 
Nintendo deviated from their most anticipated games and decided to explore the possibilities in titles like Splatoon , a game that manages to do for shooters what Mario Kart games did racers, but a little obscure title that contains a game system that manages to achieve competitive parity among the most experienced and less graceful players in this genre.
  
For those who do not know what this Splatoon, is a shooting game in the third person where you control a humanoid species squid called Inklings , a kind of shellfish that can turn your cephalopod form an anthropomorphized to face off against other of the same species in battles paint you use different types of weapons, whose main objective is to make a mess in our paint and cover with color maps of our team.
 
This title specializes in the competitive online game, and now there are two game modes with the promise of two more; Turfwar and Splatzone , which differ from the whole scenario to paint a small area, besides that Splatzone is a game qualifier and while Turfwar is a system designed just for fun. I dare say that revolutionizes Splatoon games of this genre with a competitive system that instead of focusing on the elimination of rivals, shoot paint all over the map and create a mess is the goal, it is possible to get rid of rivals through the various weapons found in splatoon, but this does not translate as the ultimate victory for your team, so this game is to create a mess, paint everything you have around you.
 
The variety of weapons is something you can call variable; You have weapons that stand out for their range, firing rate, amount of ink and different functions, because each offers secondary and special weapons varied, and likewise, you can equip with clothes, hats, shoes that gives you a wide range skills that significantly affect our game plan, as increase in the amount of paint you shoot, the speed of your character, ink savings, increased burden on the special weapon, and many other elements that change our tactics significantly.
 
At first the system of selection of maps is something that is tedious, the game automatically selects the map that ink battles unfold, this is something that changes every predetermined time, and depending on the day are the maps available to play.However, this system has a big impact on the game strategy as each stage is very different from the other and depending on the weapons you have equipped, or the costumes, has a negative or positive impact, which depends heavily Luck stage you touch to play. Although it seems a minimal amount of scenarios, Nintendo has promised that you will see scenarios in the future, and it is best that these be completely free. 
 
One aspect that many criticize is the lack of voice chat and the lack of Matchmaking, Nintendo has also promised that there will be an Update that enables you to choose the team members instead of the computer put you into teams randomly, but voice chat is something that will not come, it does not mean a great loss in the game. Splatoon nature is the individual strategy game, each player learns what his place in the team depending on the load weaponry, and the lack of voice chat, you avoid annoying players who all they do is ruin the experience of game.

Splatoon design is something worth noting, the characters are adorable, and the theme remindsyou of a Japanese Shibuya district, a place where fashion and style is something that is predominant, even NPC are colorful and unique that reflect a generation which is addressed to this title.

The game is not limited to online competitive game in Splatoon find one of the best campaigns we've played in years, the team behind Super Mario Galaxy is noted in this game mode. Splatoon campaign leads to the districts of Octarianos rival the Inklings race, who have stolen the energy source of the characters in this game and you must now recover. The game becomes a title of platforms in which you must and recover Volbagres at the end of levels, eliminating Octarianos and gathering "caviar", the latter to trade for improvements in our team. We will use different skills and weapons of the Inklings to fight our way in each scenario unleashing our ingenuity to complete the levels.

The graphic display of Splatoon is quite good, the game runs at 720p and 60 fps in the campaign and the online mode, however, although it is rare to have a drop in the frame rate per second, this may be due to connection problems, this happening is low. In the central square of the game graphics will run at 30 FPS something that is not so annoying. The soundtrack of Splatoon is very energetic, with letters in the language of the Inkling is a mystery to us, but it is impossible not to hum the themes in the online mode.

Nintendo promises a lot of content in the future, there are now regular updates of the weapons that are available in the game, also there are maps that are coming to Splatoon, and also reach two game modes that promise lots of action and variety in this title. They invite you to stay tuned to them for their updates on developments that will be coming to Splatoon.
 
In short, Splatoon is one of the strong cards for the future of Nintendo, one of the new IPs that left me satisfied and hopefully it will not be forgotten.

I've been very skeptical of this title ever since the first details about it came. After reading this review though, I maybe willing to buy it at some point. Anyways, this is a great review. You did a great job reeling me in and making me want to read more. I'm looking forward to your next review.
