Jetpack Joyride is a fun little game that I have been addicted to for well over a year. Last summer when I first got my Vita I looked for free games and this was one of the first that popped up. I didn't think that I would like it, but I got it and have now amassed well over a hundred hours playing thousands of times and I loved it. Last January when I got my Nokia Lumia, I found out that I could play the game on the phone and I fell in love with the game all over again. Of all the games that are of this genre or fall under similar ones, I say that this one is without a doubt the best.

Graphics - 8/10 (Very Good)

The graphics are very simple considering that it's a very small, basic game, but they get the job done and is easy to look at. My favorite thing about how the game looks is the setting, every section in the lab looks different, and every now and then I believe you can see out to an underwater, lava, or other random scenery. The game itself does look pretty good, there's zappers, missles, lasers, little scientists to run over, and a lot more that are pretty simple designs but all look good and are pleasing to play with. My overall grade for graphics is going to be an 8 out of 10.

Sound - 7/10 (Good)

Personally I don't find the sound to be as good as the graphics, but its still pretty good, though there isn't really that much of it. First there are the regular sounds of the game such as crashing through the wall at the start, getting hit by a zapper or missile, or just the noise of the jetpack itself. I would say that the sound effects are pretty realistic and make the game just a bit better.
Next up is the music, there aren't too many songs, but what is there is good. There's music almost all over the place, some while you are playing, some in the homepages. The song that gets stuck in my head is the one in the store since I'm there so often. My grade for sound is going to be a 7 out of 10.

Addictiveness - 10/10 (Perfect)

For me, the game is very addicting. Sure, you are doing the same thing over and over, but for me its fun trying to beat the almost unlimited amount of missions and trying to beat your really really high score. I am probably going to stay addicted all the way up until I beat the game, and after a year, I am nowhere close to it. My grade for addictiveness is going to be a perfect 10.

Story - N/A (Meh)

There isn't really much of a story, yet there is kind of one. The story is basically trying to go as far as you can, collect as many coins as you can, and beat all the missions. There are a ton of missions, many months ago I tried to use math to figure out how many missions there are and I think I determined that there are more than 1800 levels. The levels basically reset every 15, so the 1st level in every set could use 2 to 3 easy missions while the last could use 4 to 5 hard ones. So even though there's 1800 levels which is an astonishing amount, there could be more than 7000 missions. That isn't really mush of a story though so I won't give a grade for this category.

Depth - 8/10 (Very Good)

As for depth, I would say that this game has a lot of it even though all you are doing is repeating the same stage over and over. First off you have the sheer number of levels and missions, which should be high enough to alone give this game a high depth grade. Next you have the amount of things that you can use in the game and I'm pretty sure that it would take you thousands if games to go through all of the possible combinations. First there had to be at least a hundred suit and helmet combinations for you to go through, then there's the different kinds of rides that you can customize, various gadgets that you can mix and match, and a ton of other items. The game simply has a lot and for the depth, I give it an 8 out of 10.

Difficulty - 4 (Easy)

The game is actually very easy, all you are doing is tapping the screen to go up and when you let go, your guy drops, all you need to do is go up and down and avoid the obstacles. I will say that it is a bit tougher to play than the Vita version since you are using a touch screen instead of a button so you need to be quick but you also need just the right amount of sensitivity in a way. Once you get used to the screen, the game is pretty easy and I am going to give the difficulty a grade of 4.

Overall - 9 (Very Good)

Overall, the game is a lot of fun. When I first started playing the phone version I was a bit hesitant because I had played thousands of games on the Vita and had accomplished so many things. I thought it would be a waste to start everything over, but I did anyway and played almost a thousand games on the phone. The game is a lot of fun and can become very addicting so I suggest that you play it. My overall grade for Jetpack Joyride is going to be a 9 out of 10.

A wonderful review! I also enjoyed this game very much on my iPhone. I kept coming back to it everyday, trying to unlock everything in the shop and such. Like you, I was extremely addicted to this game when I first got it, and it's one of the classics on the App Store. I just wish there were more missions...

LunarDarkness2 : I haven't gotten close to buying everything in this version, but on the Vita version I do have the Platinum award for buying every single item in the game.

Great to see some Windows Phone game reviews rolling in. I actually have this game, I think I got it when it was on a Red Stripe deal, I have yet to play it though.

Davideo7 : Most of my experience and love for this game has come from the Vita version, but I'm pretty sure that this game could become a WP classic sometime like Angry Birds or whatever people play on their phones these days. Its that good.

We added each other a really long time ago, so long ago that I don't remember if my name is the same as here or something else. Though you are the only person I have added there so far. I guess I could pm you there.

zanderlex : You must not have your phone connected to the internet or something because it shows the last game you played was The Sims 2 weeks ago and before that, Temple Run 2 8 months ago. Your gamertag is actually zanderlex1 and I just sent you a message. I highly suggest you get Alphajax, it's a free Scrabble like game we could play together sometime. If you ever find some fun multiplayer games, just let me know.

Anyways, I've gone way off topic lol. Might have to make a general discussion thread for Windows Phone users.
