Time for a review made by The IB, The game that is being reviewed is Super Smash Bros. 4 for the Nintendo 3DS. Super Smash Bros. was released in Japan on September 13th, 2014 in Japan and later on October 3rd in North America and Europe. If you don’t know Super Smash, Super Smash is a game where it combines a bunch of characters from a bunch of Nintendo titles like Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Kirby, and just to name a few all combined into one unique fighting game. With this epic combination of Nintendo characters, this seem like some kind of Nintendo All-Star game really, because it’s got all of the main characters from every series in Nintendo and I think personally, that is a win-win.

Also, this is the 1st game in the whole Smash series to be on a handheld device and that just makes things a whole lot better, now you can take your Smash battles anywhere now, you don’t have to be stuck on a console playing Smash.

Ok, onto the review.

Graphics..

Graphic-wise I think Nintendo using the 3DS system to bring the graphics of Smash Bros onto a handheld is one epic move that Nintendo to continue the success of the Nintendo, which is a wise move. I think with the graphics in this one, they have indeed done quite an amazing job. With the fast pace action that is Super Smash Bros and how the handheld can handle all that action, it is quite amazing, it’s not just the action on why I think the graphics are outstanding, I think the setting in each stage are amazing as well, like each and every stage, they all have their own unique style to them, some positive and some negative, you just got to know on the environment once you know on the environment then it will make for an amazing setting to play in. That’s why you got to give it to Nintendo coming up with their 3D handheld and their decision to port a fighting game on the handheld. The only disadvantage I have vs. the consoles is the camera is a little slow to scan your player whenever you go off screen because of the 3DS’s small screen, but in reality, this is no big deal.

As for the Graphics, I got to give it a 9 out of 10, the fast and detailed graphics on a 3D handheld, you just can’t ask for anything else, if the small screen wasn’t a factor, then this would be a 10, but oh well, I still give it a 9 and a 9 is still a really high number though. Just great graphics, that is all I got to say

---------------

Sound/Music..

For the Sound Effects, I just like all the voices that are being made, no matter what character was being used (Human, or Creatures), they all have their own voices that makes them on who they are and all those sounds they make when they battle, and all the move sounds that are used are also high quality as well, and this being a 3D/HD handheld, you can’t really expect more or less from all the sounds that are produced by all the characters. All I can say, I love the sounds in this game and you will to

Now for the music, it all brings a lot of them from other series that the games that are inside this game, some has the original track and others have like some kind of remix and no matter on what music is being played, if give you those sounds that we have in those games, like you got music from the Mario series, from the Zelda series, from the Pokemon series, and a whole lot more tones to the music, and even the menu music is quite catchy as well, I just like the way the sounds are played in this game all together, that is all I got to say about the Music.

As for the Sound and Music, I easily have to give it a perfect 10 out of 10, the sound effects are extremely spot on and I especially love the tunes in the game as well, so I think with all of that, this does make this game very unique with the sounds being played, you will enjoy each and every bit of it.

---------------

Addiction Level..

Oh boy, this is what really what makes Super Smash Bros. extremely popular, you just can’t stop playing the game. It’s got so much; there are no limits on SSB. You would be playing this game for days, week, and even months nonstop just to beat all the modes that are offered in the game (which I will mention below under Depths) and all the trophies you can unlock and a whole lot of other interesting things you want to try out, or you just want to use your favorite Smash character to battle your opponents either in single player or playing it online with others. Although I have only played in single player right now, and even in single player, I still have been playing this game since I got the game and it has became my most favorite 3DS game, and there is a reason why it is my most favorite.

As for the Addiction Level, I easily have to give it a perfect 10 out of 10, since Super Smash Bros provide hours and hours of fun and entertainment and to tell you the truth, if I could of give it a higher number, I would easily have give it a higher number no problem. It is just that addicting.

------------

The Storyline..

Although They’re really not a whole lot of story in the series, but on how great the game is, a lack of a story doesn't mean that the game will be bad, and to my opinion, I don’t think the game even need a story on how this game portrays, I think the only story I know is that (when you go by the classic mode) you go battle a lot of enemies, opponents, and other stuff between you and the Master, and once you clear through all the battle, you come face to face (well, more like face to hands) with the Master’s hands and once you manage to drain all his HPs (depending on the difficulty level), you have technically beat the story. That is basically the only story I can really think of that is in the whole entire game, other than that story, that is pretty much it.

As for the story, I have to give it a 5 out of 10. Really the lack of a story really bombed this game, but other than the story, everything else made up for this “5”, but since I don’t really care too much about a storyline, it don’t really affect me at all, so that’s really all I got to say about the story though.

--------------

Depth..

Depth, the Depth of Super Smash Bros. 4. Man, where do I even begin with the Depth with this game. Ok, for the Depth of Super Smash Bros. 4 on the 3DS you have a lot of amazing characters to choose from like Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Link, Zelda, Sonic, Pikachu, or my favorite I use which is Charizard, plus just name a few in this game, so the amount of choices you have with the fighters you want seems limitless and also the number of stages you can battle in also adds to the mix of all the amazing things you can experience with. It’s not with all the choices you have with the characters and stages, but also all the game modes in the game as well, like the Smash mode we all know about and what really makes this game famous, plus a classic mode where you follow a storyline from start all the way to the end when you have to battle the Master Hands, you have a mode called “All-Star” mode where you battle characters depending on what Generation of gaming you are battling like Gen II, - Gen VIII) and you have a mode called Smash Run which is only for the 3DS, and it’s where you have to battle enemies to gain stats for a random battle at the end.

So, with that said, I easily have to give the Depth of Super Smash Bros. a perfect 10 out of 10. Super Smash Bros. 4 for the 3DS has a whole lot of depth into the game and the amount of characters and stages to choose from, this is why this game has a 10 out of 10.

--------------

Difficulty / Gameplay..

Ok, as for the difficulty of Super Smash Bros. I do have to admit, the game is really hard, because the enemies and your smash opponents can be quite tough to defeat, and when I battle other enemies in Smash Run, a whole lot of enemies seem like they all are impossible to defeat (it will take a long time to defeat them) but one you do, it will be quite worth it because you will get a lot of stats for it, but not that, but both Classic and All-Star mod are both really hard as well. In Classic, I never really make it past the Master Hands, let me tell you, the Master Hands are quite tough, that’s why he’s the boss of the game. As for All-Stars, I haven’t really played this mode a whole lot, but when I do play this mode, it is a little difficult to defeat everyone, but you have all those generations to battle through like I mentioned in the Depth part. But I think with its difficulty, I think this is what really makes this game very unique in its own way, being a tough game is what makes the whole game fun to play.

As for the Gameplay, the controls are a little hard to figure out because you got all those moves you can make with your Smash character, and everything else you can possibly learn from and overtime, you still haven’t figure out everything about Smash because it got so much controls with it, but I think on a personal note, I do like a fighting games with a lot of controls because you got so many options you can use to defeat your opponents, so, the more controls, the better the game would be to my opinion. So, a pretty outstanding gameplay is what makes this game itself one really fun game, controls are smooth and can be easy to figure out once you get the hang of the Smash series.

For the Difficulty and the Gameplay, I got to give it a 9 out of 10, it is quite a hard game, but on a personal standpoint, it is a really great game, it’s not like impossible to beat, because as long it’s possible to beat it, that’s all that matter to have one great game, and that is my personal opinion on the game, really hard, but not impossible, that’s why it gets a 9

Overall..

Overall, I do have to say, this game right here is one amazing game, I just got this game the day after Christmas 2014, and I haven’t stopped playing this game since, and the reason why I haven’t is what I mentioned above, it’s got amazing graphics, amazing sound and music, and it’s really a tough game, but fun at the same time which are great combo. The 2 biggest things that really made this game on what it is today has to be the Addiction Level and the Depth, I think to my point of view, these two things really brought this game to where it is and what really makes this game popular. The only downside I have with this game will keep this game from being a perfect 10 out of 10 (although I never, ever rate an overall score a 10 out of 10, otherwise, I’ll sound bias) is the storyline, I think the lack of a storyline kinda bombed it, but other than that, the game is quite fantastic.

For the final score, I will give this game a 9.6 out of 10, despite the lack of a storyline, I think this game is a very epic game, and I think if you like Fighting games, this is the one fighting game that is a must try and especially if you like Nintendo characters, this is the one game for you, you need to try this, even if you aren't much of a fighting kinda guy, but still, it won’y hurt if you give this game a try, you might end up liking it, I never played it because I wasn't much of a fighting type, then I tried this and it end up being my best game ever on the 3DS.
