You all know the Pokémon game series, where you have to catch a lot of monsters called Pokémon so you can win certain tournaments and stuff like that, am I right? In the contrary, we have one of the first spin-offs of Pokémon, entitled Pokémon Mystery Dungeon. It has been released as an edition for the Gameboy Advance, the red edition, and as an edition for the Nintendo DS, the blue edition, although the game is the same in both editions. But the main questions that one could ask, especially as a die hard Pokémon-fan, are for example "Is it worth to be called a Pokémon game?", "How much different is it in contrary to the other Pokémon games?" or "Does it also make fun to play this game?" We will find the answers to these questions during this review.

First of all, let us take a look at the graphics. Well, there is not much to say about the graphics... why? Because the graphics are very well done and very detailed. Every single Pokémon has his own movements and looks different (there are over 400 Pokémon's after all, so there is a lot of diversity!), the areas, the attacks, the buildings, the environment... everything has a lot of details, everything has a unique appearance. One can see that the creators focused a lot at the graphics so that they look so well. I can only give a 10 out of 10 for the graphics because of all the details and how much effort has been put into it.

Then there is the sound of the game. There are a lot of different sounds for different causes, like sounds for attacks etc. All of them fit to the cause they have been put into, but the sounds are not somehow outstanding. You won't be able to hear any unique voices, too. The music also fits to each situation during the game. Sometimes there are also some catchy tunes which you want to hum along and which you can get an earworm. I will give 8 out of 10 points for the sound, it fits well to the game, but it is nothing that memorable like the graphics.

How addictive is this game? Oh this game is very very very addictive! There is a lot to do in this game, like recruiting all the Pokémon. But in contrary to the usual Pokémon games, it has a very new feel, because of the combination of game genres like dungeon crawler and RPG. I really got addicted to this game, because there is so much to do in this game, so I will definitely give 10 out of 10 for the addictiveness.

Now we will talk about the story. The story is very very different then the usual story in Pokémon games, which is mostly just becoming the very best, like no one ever was. You wake up as a Pokémon, having no idea what happened. Another Pokémon, which will be your partner and best friend during the main story, finds you while you slept somewhere in the depths of the world which is unknown to you. Friendship is a very big topic during the story, and it has been well converted how important friendship, but I have to say that the story also reminds me of Shounen Animes like D. Gray-Man where friendship is very important, so I will give 9 out of 10, therefore that it's well converted.

And then there also is the depth of the game. Well like I said before, this game offers a lot: a new feeling, a completely different story, a lot of missions to do... It definitely takes a while to finish this game completely. I will give 10 points out of 10 because of this wide variety of things which you can do in this game.

At last, we have to talk about the difficulty. The controls are pretty easy, you can learn them pretty quickly. But therefore, you can choose if you want do difficult missions or easy ones, because each dungeon is more difficult than the other one (some dungeons have 99 floors!). After you finished the main story, it's in your hand how difficult you want to play the game furthermore. (although you get more rewards if you do the more difficult missions...)

The scores:

Graphics: 10/10
Sound: 8/10
Addictiveness: 10/10
Story: 9/10
Depth: 10/10
Overall: 47/50

9,4/10

So if you want the answers to the questions one could ask, here you go:
It is definitely worth to be called a Pokémon game, because it still has the Pokémon trademarks, but it is also a revolution of the old Pokémon playing style, in a good way.
It is completely different to the previous Pokémon games, combining the Pokémon trademarks with some new elements, like the dungeons or the missions.
It makes a lot of fun to play this game! There is so much to do, one gets easily addicted to the game... so as a result, we have a great game which should be not just played by die hard Pokémon fans!

So this has been my first review, thank you very much for reading, hope you enjoyed it If you have any tips what I could do better, please tell me ^o^

Pokemon aren't Monsters... They are cute and cuddly little pets.

Other than that, not a bad review. It's not like how most people do it, but it is your own style, which I look for whenever I read revews.

Keep up the good work.

"Cute and cuddly little pets" which can spit fire for example... xD And besides that... can someone say that a Grimer for example is a cute and cuddly little pet? o.o xD

Otherwise thank you very much, I am very glad that someone appreciated my work, and I will definitely keep up the work
