It's a cool feeling. Building your own Country from scratch. You control every aspect of the Civilizations growth. It's challenging, fun, and new. There are few games which match this feel! Civilization IV is a brilliant game! Sadly, I haven't been able to check out all of the DLC, expansions... I have only gotten to the Base game. Still, the game is really amazing. It's a turn-based strategy game, where you need to build, growth of your culture, country (boarders), economy, military, and religion. This proves challenging, when you need to do this, while keeping up with other Civilizations and keeping the barbarians from evading. This and much more awaits you in this masterpiece.

Graphics: The graphics are very good, but they have some things that could be better. But, considering that the game was made in 2005, the graphics are impressive! Each unit from each Civilization has it's own unique form, uniform etc. This makes the game cool! The trees in the game are done with great care, the water is good, you can zoom up close to the Troop, or City and the game handles this very well. The graphics are very good, especially for a game that is 9 years old.
I give the graphics a 9/10.

Sound: The sound in the game is really awesome! This is one of the songs from this game: www.youtube.com/watch?v=17svtURunUk I really love the soundtracks from here. As you advance through the ages you get different songs, which gives the game a nice feel, and you are kept interested, because there are no repetitive songs going on in this game. There are few sounds other than the songs, but what there is, was done very good. I love every aspect of the sounds! *Starts Singing "Baba Yetu" *
The sounds made for Civilization IV is really good!
Sound gets a 10/10.

Addictiveness: This game is hard to stop. Read other reviews, they talk about how they start in the morning, and puff, there went 9 hours. This isn't an exaggeration. The game is that addictive! Every aspect of the game makes you want to come back for more! There is so much to research, so much to do, it's hard to stop. If you don't want to spend the rest of your life building Civilizations, don't pick up a copy of this game! That's how good it is. I was reluctant to start the game, and I almost thought the game was a waste of money when I found out that it was Turn-Based, but that's not true. The turn-based style really was done with taste, and it is a nice change of pace from other games!
The game is just so addictive. I HAVE to give it a 9/10.

Story: N/A That's right, I didn't find a story mode, but I never really check out the story modes in strategy games. They usually aren't done that well, so I avoid all. I may edit it in, if I decide to try it out. But, I don't think that this game is meant to have a story. It's a game that has replay value, but not because of story.
N/A (Not Applicable.)

Gameplay/ Controls: The game handles smoothly. There are a few times when you have many allies that it lags a little, such as waiting for other "players" to move. This isn't that long, and really it's not that obvious. It just takes a second longer to load. That's fine. The controls are really simple. All you need is the mouse and the enter key. You need the enter to begin the next turn, the mouse to do everything else. It's really simple, and it takes no time to learn all you need to know.
Simple controls, smooth gameplay. It deserves the 9/10.

Depth: The game has so much depth. You can research thing in each city you build. The difference is that each city doesn't have to have the same religion, cultural benefits, technologies, economy, military stuff, etc. That makes the combinations have infinite possibility. Really there is no right or wrong way to play. The only wrong way is to die. The game has so many ways to play, civilizations to use, maps to play on, it's incredible. I am really impressed with all of the things that you can do. This game has more than the Age of Empires games I've played, which takes some doing.
The game has so much to do. It's astounding. I give it a 9/10 for depth.

Difficulty: The game has it's hard parts, like when you lose your city to barbarians. Or, the citizens are not happy. It's hard to return the city to happiness. It's fun, but it still has it's hard parts. I love all the aspects of the game. The hard part isn't the battle. It's what to research and when to research it. There is no point in researching sailing when you are in a land map. But, that is what makes the game fun. You can play any way you want. It's hard, but not overly hard to play.
This game masters a challenging style, but it makes the challenge enjoyable. I give it an 8/10.

Overall: The game is really awesome! I loved the style. They pulled off the turn based gameplay perfectly. The research has so much variety. You have different personalities in your allies. It's just a great game! I give it an overall rating of: 9.5/10.

Excellent review! Personally, the music is what got me completely hooked to the game. I'm always dying to reach the Renaissance so I can (hopefully) listen to Allegro Asai as much as possible. I also find it challenging to try to get the perfect leader score (Augustus)?
