Just found two articles talking about Jesus Christ in a row... coincidence or are they trying to make Christians look crazy?

One of them is really strange where a lady basically renamed herself to Jesus Christ and was called to Jury Duty. She insisted her name was Jesus Christ but they didn't believe her, and when her name was called in court people laughed. She was disruptive and was asking questions instead of answering them.

http://news.aol.com/article/woman-named-jesus-christ-dumped-from/795370

In another article about Jesus Christ it talks about non other then the infamous Jesus appearing on pancakes and appliances.

http://news.aol.com/article/mary-jo-coady-sees-image-of-jesus-on-her/788476

I've noticed the media as well as many major websites like Yahoo sponsoring christian bashing. What do you think about all of this? After all these articles were found in the "crazy section". But isn't all news considered crazy or at least most of it?

Sure people who find Jesus in their pancakes or name their selves to Jesus Christ are considered nuts but I think there is more behind it, cause there are "gatekeepers" who are the ones in charge of what they distribute to the audiences. I think they are purposely trying to make Christians look like nuts despite the fact that there are more nuts then sane people in this world.

Why isn't news on britney spears, obama, mj's death, murders, etc put into the crazy bin? All of them are just as crazy as the other. Why don't they talk about Jews or some other religions this is the perfect time for it with people complaining about X-mas tress all over and such. Or can they only spit out nutty christian stories so it makes non christians look like the sane people?

Religion should be kept to yourself, and the media should take their useless religions articles and shove it down their own throats. Posting these articles in front of the world does no good except make christians look like the nutty people. They are purposely trying to make the audience think a certain way like during 9/11 anyone who is a raghead is a terrorist, that is basically what they are doing with these articles.

What do you think about this and media in general when it comes to their hidden agenda to deface religions and make people think bad when they have opposing views?

When Easter and December roll around the Christian bashing starts.

That's just how it seems to work. And it doesn't surprise me that the media does this because it's all about ratings and getting people riled up about something. And what better way to do that than to rip on the person that these 2 holidays are about.

I think it's silly. If you think Christians are crazy then let them be crazy. There are plenty of other "crazy" people that do far worse than the Christians do.

I personally think it could be coincidence.
But I'm not a christian so I'm not taking it personally.
If it isn't a coincidence, that is pretty sad.
Christian is the biggest religion in the world (over 2 Billion)
And to say they're all nuts is just stupid.

Yeah, I think people need to really realize the impact and damage media can project on to society and how it makes people think a certain way on something. All media is a joke, I think we all would be better off without it. It's all hype, hysteria & fear mongering.

I use to watch the news when I was little and it made me feel like crap. I felt like if I stepped outside I would get shot, or if I saw a person with a rag on their head they would shoot a rocket at me, or if I got tattoos I would be satanic, etc... it's just really sad I think they are one of the main reasons why society is filled with such hate and anger against one another.

The information itself is only half of the issue; the other half is how it is presented. Presentation is just as important as the information itself. If you present the information in a certain way, you can make the Allied powers look like they were the bad guys and Hitler was the second coming of christ. Media outlets will use this to push their agenda while still technically telling the truth. Weither or not you support the point of view they are pushing is a completely different argument, however.

I don't think naming yourself Jesus is dubbed automatically as ludicrous. In some Hispanic countries they name their children Jesus. I can't use accents, but it is pronounced (Hay-Zeus), so some of you probably would have heard of that. If your name was Jesus and was pronounced like so, then yes that would be very unoriginal and ludicrous.

But if someone were to see a boarding pass and see their name is Jesus then I wouldn't freak out if I was them.

This woman doesn't know what she is getting into. It isn't illegal to name yourself this but Christians may think otherwise.

I don't support AOL and everything else doing this on the basis of stereotyping and scapegoating. We need to keep those at a minimum.

Yeah. The Crusades happened because of non-crazy x-tians. people make fun of you x-tians because you believe in an out-dated and antiquated belief system that gives out far more evil than good. For every good deed done in the name of x-tianity, another priest touches a little boy.

I think the media always looks at the bad or crazy things in general. They wouldn't report about more positive things, that's just how the media is. Even if something is great, they'd usually talk about the negative part of it. It's pretty annoying.

LOL one of my friends growing up was named jesus. though his last name was not christ.

And yes if your watching the news for information your on the wrong channel.
You'd be surprised who owns most media outlets.
