I remember seeing this game at Toys R us for the first time. I thought that it looked so cool! I had no idea what to expect. I was so happy when I actually got it that Christmas! I put the game in for the first time. I played it not more than a couple levels, when it messed up on me! What? I was a bit upset. This was a brand new game. It was a problem with the disc that made me keep going back to the beginning. Since I did not have a memory card yet, this made it somewhat frustrating for me. I could rarely ever make it past the third level when the disc would mess up. One time, I gave it a rest for a while and got past it, only to get messed up later! Needless to say, I was quite frustrated with this game, even though I really loved playing it. I really just wanted to be able to get past the first world. Especially when it was not my fault when I could not! But I eventually got my memory card and was able to play this game the whole way through. And this is what I have decided about it...

Graphics: 9. The world designs a varied and quite big. I really enjoyed the different types of enemies that you would encounter in each world. Each enemy was taken right out of looney tunes and put in the right spot. They even dressed up the robots according to the different worlds. In the evil scientist's castle, they were dressed normally. In the King Arthur's world, they were dressed as knights mostly. In the sam's wild west world, they were all dressed up like wild west kind of bandits, complete with cowboy hats and hankerchifs. The worlds were all well designed, and the graphics were really smooth. The weapons worked and looked good. and everything just seemed to fit every world that you stepped into, and nothing seemed out of place, which is pretty awesome considering our heroes travel back in time! The backgrounds were realistic, and there were a lot of exceptional levels such as the Marvin Martian's Ancestors space world. That was not only well done, but it also managed to stay true to the loony tunes cartoons. And really, every aspect of the graphics stayed true to loony tunes. You cannot help but be reminded of a few different episodes throughout the whole game. Yet at the same time, the creators of this game created them all so well, that these cartoon-nonstalgic worlds feel like a completely different area to explore. The enemy designs are fun, and even different things that happen to them. For instance, when you completely stun an enemy with a good combo, you see the stars circling around his head, and he is standing, but sort of wobbles the whole time until he shakes it off and wakes up. Another great visual is when you smash the enemy back. It almost looks like a comet as he shoots back. Another graphic that I found very satisfying was the explosion of the robots, there is just something so awesome about each explosion. It just looks so good and clear to me. The sprites for all the looney tunes characters were good, and there just is not one thing that I could say was bad about the graphics.

Sound: 9. Well, really the sound was awesome! The music fit every world, just like the graphics. It also managed to fit the mood and time period. The music seemed to speed up and become more prominent in combat, but less when you were just trying to get somewhere. All the sounds are good, from the sounds of your weapon wacking the enemy, to the sound of their explosion. Coins sounded very good when you collected them. The characters all spoke throughout the game, and there were occasions where the evil scientist himself would speak in the level. All the characters sounded like they used the real voices from loony tunes and not just a good copy. I am not sure if they used the real voice talent or not, but it certainly sounded like it to me. The weapons all sounded good. I cannot remember all of them, but I can remember one particularly. The steel trap launcher. Every time you would launch one of those things, the trap shut with such a convincing sound that could almost make you feel the pain! Doors often creaked, robots sounded like the way they looked. There was really nothing to complain about here.

Story: 8. It was overall a pretty good story, and was developed and delivered well, yet in some ways I cannot help but feel that they combined a ton of their cartoons together into one in a little more serious way. Basically, the evil scientist has built a time machine so that he can go back in time and capture all the ancestors of the loony tunes characters. He plans trouble and mayhem...across centuries! The loony tune pack raids his castle and steal the plans so that they too, can build a time machine and go back to the past. Along the way, you find yourselves in some strange worlds, even fighting a devilish porky pig in a fiery area that I guess is looney tunes' depiction of hell. (The place...not the swear word!) You fight through the labyrinthian puzzles of the pyramids, battle knights in the Middle ages, and even resort to a somewhat primeval time for Taz, not only that, but you also are treated to a trip to space, and a taste of world war 2 (loony tunes style!) Really, this was pretty unique, and there were cutscenes after every level, yet somehow, I just cannot give it a 9. I cannot put my finger on it, but this story is missing something...Nothing major, just a little something that could put it over the edge.

Addictiveness: 9. I spent a lot of hours playing this game through and through. I still think that it is a fun game, there are a lot of challenges, and it is just a lot of fun to explore the worlds of different time periods...even in the wacky style of loony tunes. The combat was fun, and there were plenty of tough puzzles and platforming sections, as well as some really good bosses. Overall, I cannot think of any reason why I would not play this game over and over. I will probably end up getting the wii version of this game to own and replay.

Depth: 7. Well, the game is fairly large and you get to explore a lot of time periods in a cartoon kind of fashion, but the levels are pretty much the "get through and nothing else to think about kind of levels." So I cannot really give them a huge rating for depth. But on the other hand, they did have quite a few levels that were decently long and hard. And there were even a couple of little twists along the way. So it really does not feel right to rate it low. The 7 that I gave it just feels about right.

Difficulty: 8. This game can be pretty tough at times, but it is nothing that takes forever to beat. It is pretty easy to master the controls, and figuring out what to do is rarely that difficult. Although it can be a stickler of a challenge at times! The combat typically is not too hard, but the platforming and puzzle sections are usually the spots that get me stuck the most. Though I am pretty sure that it would not be that hard for me now, since I feel that I would remember most of the puzzles as I come to them. But it by far is enough of a challenge to keep you playing.

Overall: 8.3. Acme Arsenal is a lot of fun to play and is a great tribute to the loony tunes cartoons. If you have not tried it yet, it is well worth it to at least try it once!
