I love Astropop. Love it. This game is amazing. The aim of the game is to take the colored blocks and match em with blocks of the same color. There are different kinds of blocks, like the proximity bomb, and the row bomb. But instead of just telling you how amazing it is, I'm gonna tell you why its great, because that's how a review works. Ha, just joking. Seriously though, lets get on with it. Oh, by the way, just realized this is a review of Astropop DELUXE. The one on steam. Whoops.
Graphics: 7 The graphics in this game are pretty good. The characters at the bottom are nicely designed, and very detailed. Each characters ship is different and nicely designed. The hud is very detailed. The different special blocks are nicely designed too.
Sound: 10 The music in this game is amazing. And I mean AMAZING. Its fast paced, catchy, and all around awesome. The sound is good too, and the voice acting, (what little there is) Is well done.
Addictiveness: 9 This game will have you up all night. You will be playing this game for hours on end. How high of a score can you get?
Story: 7 Believe it or not, there is a story. Its not a terrible story either. There is a different story for each character. I'm gonna explain the basic story of the default characters. Vector, a space pilot delivering quadrillium, gets a distress signal from an alien woman, known as Vixx. Her planet is collapsing in on itself, and she needs help quick. Its up to Vector to save her. Meanwhile, Sprocket, a mechanic, is traveling through space with her robot friend Turbo. Turns out, Turbo has a malfunctioning logic chip. And Sprocket has to get it fixed. An easy task, right?
Depth: 10 This game, as I said, you will be playing for hours on end. There is a lot of stuff to do. Arcade mode, Survival mode, Campaign, Unlockable Characters, and addictive gameplay will keep you busy for quite a while.
Difficulty: 8 As I said in my Traintown Review, the difficulty is like a ramp. It gets harder the higher you go. But do not be discouraged young gamer, for there is gold at the end of this rainbow. There are power ups for you to use, a Final Smash like move, and upgrades you get every 4 (?) levels.
Overall: 8.5 If you don't already have this game, you should definitely get it. I mean, look at all this cool stuff in it! Sorry this review wasn't 500+ words. Hope you enjoyed this review!
