This is the first transformers game that I ever played. The first of the Transformers that I ever experienced, so it is going to be the first one that I reviewed. While this is one of my favorite games for the Transformers, it is not my favorite gameplay. I enjoyed the freestyle movement that you experience in the others, but this game was still awesome...

Graphics: 9 The graphics were really good...even better once I turned the brightness on my screen up so that I could actually see them. The graphics for the cutscene was completely awesome...even of movie quality. The rest of it was a little less, but still awesome in its own right. I enjoyed playing as a robot and blasting all the bad guys. I just do not care for it when it is the other way around. My favorite graphical features were probably when the autobots were in space, and when they traveled underground, where the dark energon was taking over. Trypticon was a very well designed enemy indeed. There is one graphic in this game that I don't like...megatron's ugly mug! That alone could bring down the graphics rating...LOL! But seriously, I felt that these were some pretty decent graphics. They were slightly under those of revenge of the fallen, but were still good at any rate. I might give it an 8.5 if there was a button for that, but there is no way that I would give it an 8. Like I said, it is only slightly less better than the revenge of the fallen, so an 8 would be excessively harsh in my opinion. So the 9 stays as is (sorry sonicmuffin!)

Sound: 9 Now this deparment was pretty awesome as well. There were some sounds that I did not get why they sounded that way, such as the sound when Trypticon blasts an Autobot with his laser. I did not get why  it sounded as though it was a couple of boards clapping together, but it really was not a bad sound. The sounds for the transormations were pretty good. And I was very pleased with the voice acting. They really made the voice fit the character. Optimus Prime has a good strong voice that to me speaks volumes of his leadership. Megatron just has the perfect nasty leader voice. Starscream has that voice that just seems so evil on top of evil, and it really fits him, since he is not loyal even to his own leader. Bumblebee's voice was really good in this one. There was just a youthful, inexperienced, but ready to show what he is made of tone to his voice. I do not know if anyone will agree with me on these points or not, but I feel that they all really fit.
The gun sounds for all your weapons were pretty good. Missiles whoosh as they launch, the gatling gun sounds like a machine gun, and the cannon for Optimus is awesome! It has a different pitch depending on whether or not you charge it. Now nothing is truly perfect, and the same can be said of this game, but I think that the sound well deserves a 9.

Addictiveness: 9.I would definitely play this game again, there are a few things that I did not attempt to do yet, and I just love beating up the bad guys. I would have to say that the addictiveness gets a 9. It is a good thing that they separated the adventure into Autobot and Decepticon, unlike what they did with the Revenge of the Fallen. I really do not want to be playing as the bad guy (although no one really seems to get that the Decepticons are the bad guys) so being able to play just as the Autobots really makes it better for me. I will admit that I played through the Decepticon adventure, but I really was only doing it because I was not sure what else to play! Like I said, it is a good thing that the story is separated. If it was not, I would be giving a different rating for the addictiveness, probably more like a 5 or 6.

Story:9 The story is really pretty awesome. It goes behind the original theme of the autobots on earth and explains just what happened to cybertron. I am surprised that considering the fact that the Decipticons are the ones to blame for the destruction of it, that a lot of people will actually think that they are better. Anyways, the story develops right before your eyes as you play the game. You get to hear the conversations as you play, and even the robots thoughts to themselves. Some of the better parts include when...oh! Nuts! I forgot, I am not supposed to spoil anything. At any rate, there is some good, funny comments throughout. The battle between, Trypticon and the Autobots with Optimus Prime holds some pretty good conversation. I will say this, the people who make transformers have a knack for bringing out both sides of the story, and for that I respect them. I feel that the story, with all the voice acting, the cutscene at the beginning, its overall development and delivery deserves the rating that I gave it. Even if half of the story takes place on the Decepticon's side.

Depth: 8 Considering the fact that you virtually have 2 stories to play through and the fact that each one comes with its own set of accomplishments and achievements, I would say that the 8 I gave it is fair. I think there is about 15 levels for each side, each one having its own set of special accomplishments. It is not the deepest game that I have ever saw, but it does have some decent depth.

Difficulty: 7
It is not the hardest thing ever, but fighting Trypticon was extremely difficult for me. Why? Because I was using the wrong weapons! Duh! I should have thought of that! Instead, I spent hours trying to defeat him and complaining that I was fighting as fast as I could and just was not getting the time that I really needed. I feel so stupid for complaining about that now! But other than that, the game is not super tough. I do remember a few spots that were a little tough, and took me a while to get past, so I would say that a 7 is fair.

Overall: 8.5 Having calculated all the departments, I come up with an overall of 8.5 I really enjoyed this game for being the first one that I played like it. You are basically not able to move anywhere unless you are in vehicle mode. All other movement is done for you. The only thing that you have to concentrate on is ducking and blasting the enemy. I enjoyed the sound and the story probably the best in this game. I feel that these two departments really make the game worthwhile.
