After Nintendo received reports that Wind Waker's sales were slow due to the graphic style choosen, Nintendo decided to make a Zelda Game made for an American audience.

And We got Twilight Princess.

Now, I have a few opinions about this game, but I save those for later, cause first, I want to hear what you have to say?

What do you think of this game?

As a standalone, all by itself, as an entry into the *cough* series, as a story, and musical score?

Were you greatly impressed by it?

Or left unamused, finding yourself going back to your Xbox360 looking for a better game.

It is up to you to post below and explain!

Maybe this won't be the most popular opinion ever, but i loved Twilight Princess. I thought it had amazing graphics, an amazing soundtrack, and a great story with some awesome characters. My only real beef was with the controls. It's not a problem if you use the GCN controller, but i prefer the wiimote. Sometimes the motion control would freak out and start sending Link in circles and cause him to swing his sword wildly.

I love the entire series, but i think Twilight Princess was particularly outstanding.

Graphically I loved it. It was a good looking game. The soundtrack was pretty good too honestly
It fell short in gameplay though. The wolf thing wasn't a great gimmick, and...well...
The game just felt too easy to be honest. I didn't have the feeling of a giant world that I did with Wind Wakers either.

My perfect Zelda game..
Game play and world of Wind Wakers
Graphics and ambiance of Twilight Princess
And the unsettling storyline of Majoras Mask
With splashes of puzzles from Ocarina of Time

Far from it. My first Zelda was 'A link to the past"
Since, I've roughly played them in order.
I actually almost never played Wind Wakers
Picking it up some years after it was out because it was on sale
Why do you ask?

I love it. The musical score is very impressive, and it appeals to my generally hard-to-please musical side. I liked the art too, even though it doesn't look as great as it could, but that's just because of the Wii's graphic limitations. The story (at least, as far as I have completed) is solid and engaging, and the cut scenes have a very cinematic, fluid feel to them. I liked the darker feel of the game as well; it made the world feel more gritty and interesting. As for cons, like a lot of players have said, the world was supposed to have the impression of being large and explorable, but it didn't work for me. Maybe because it was so open-ended, with so few points of interest scattered across a giant map, that I got lost often... And the temples were huge. I can't think of a Zelda game with bigger temples, but that might be because I'm not a very knowledgeable gamer. The huge size of the temples and the far-too-distantly-sparsed world is what truly detracted from my experience of the game. Also, I never once thought it was an easy game, but again, I'm not the best gamer... I wouldn't even classify myself as a 'casual' gamer, so that might just be because I'm not very good at Zelda games, despite loving them to death. When I play them, I usually get some minor areas done, maybe a room or two in a temple, then run around doing random things for about an hour or two hoping it'll let me know what to do next... before I look up a walk-through, use that, and then get stuck all over again just a couple minutes later.

Similar to what dragonlord stephi said.

I loved it. It is actually my favorite Zelda game. The graphics and visual art was better than anything else on the game cube, and still now is timeless. The cut scenes where the best of series so far. The plot was a little more involved than most, especially with great characters like Midna and Zant. The gameplay was also the most enjoyable of the series for me, with all those special moves.

The only negative to me was the smaller feel of the world and too few side quests.

I have this game....I will have to agree on what stephi and light said in their posts. Though there were some annoying moments in the game, it was good. as...from other zelda games it is different and unique as well. ^^

Dragonlord Stephi :

I actually agree!

I know what you mean about wondering if you're too much of a "casual" gamer to really enjoy it. I think that skyrim has what zelda has for the most part, only. . . everythings like. . . 10 x ramped up.

baileyface544 :

just a lot of people your age, or a little bit younger actually I found thought it was the best.

----- my opinion.

I found this as one of the greatest Zeldas that I have played, for similar reasons listed by posters above.

Great music, (gotta LOVE that Hyrule Field theme!)

The graphics, oh man, this is what Zelda SHOULD look like!

But this game, I really do feel, could have been better.

I mean, look at Rusle, that female warrior, and Shad.

All three characters seem to have had a lot of potential, but they don't do much in the story.

Like, at all.

I mean, it's like they were important, but not once do you get to actually fight alongside them.

Kindof surprising, in fact, I have reason to believe they were originally going to make them assisting Ai in a few areas, or at least playable in a similar fashion to Wind Waker.

Other then that I don't think that Nintendo knows how to make a story like Sega can with Sonic.

And I'm series.

It kindof goes along with it I guess, to say that each Zelda game is way to similar, I mean, everything is way too overused save Majora's Mask.

Which actually gave us a different sword halfway through the game other then a master Sword in some alternate redesign or whatever, plus it didn't use Gannon, ect.

I just wish that Zelda games would EXPAND off one title rather than reuse the same basic plot all the time.

But that's all.

Sword legion :

Hmm, interesting. I've found most people my age (26) started with LTP, or OOT.
Though I have heard many in my age range saying windwakers was their favorite.

While I did love the massive feel, and puzzles, of Windwakers,
and I agree with you that Twilight Princess was how a Zelda Game should look,
My favorite has to be Majora's Mask, for roughly the reason you said.
It shook up the formula in an interesting way, and even broke the 4th wall at points (which I always appreciate if done right)
The story was easily the best in the series in my opinion,
And unlike other Zelda games that kept a lighter tone, Majora's Mask was creepy.

Windwakers took a completely new direction for exploration as well
And the open world sailing was fun, and made it feel like an entirely new game.

So I feel that may be the main reason I didn't care much for Twilight despite the great overall tone.
I didn't feel it truly innovated, and I think I had come to expect from the series..
Yeah, it had a much darker tone, but so did Majora's Mask
Yeah you had the wolf thing going on, but it didn't really alter the experience in any significant way (at least in my opinion).
Take away the gimmick, the tone, and it just felt like another Zelda game.
Not a bad Zelda game, and a very beautiful one, but nothing truly unique that made it special.
Other may feel differently, and I understand if you do,
but for me...it had nothing that made it special like Majora and Windwakers did.
