I did a little digging on a few items and in many cases it is much easier on the Bank Account to be a Real Character than to purchase a simulator device.
Upgrading consoles on release date. D.L.C. Pre-ordering. Online Service Accounts. Control Devices. (Joysticks and D-pads.) Handhelds. The list can go on forever and I really do not have to go around pricing. The Prices are now Legendary. Why bother buying C.O.D. or any military shooter when one can just sign up? Why bother buying the next Street Fighter or any Fighting game when one can just get a training gym membership or even fly out to the Asian Monk Countries and knock on their front doors? Why bother getting a copy of G.T.A.? Criminal life is free? Unless one is trying to be "Indiana Jones" or "Phoenix Write" (Seven Years of College is still over the top expensive. Like buying a house expensive.) why would anyone bother with the simulation when they can be the real thing? There is also the cost of the tools for the many random professions in games but the real deal still does not cost the same as a simulation. Back when I was a kid..... (Am I really saying that now?) The cool part of games was how cheaper it was to rent a 007 game than it was to buy plane tickets to exotic locations around the world. From Skate or Die to Tony Hawk. The games will not send you to the emergency room if anything goes wrong. Today? You might as well have gone to the emergency room and given birth with all the cash it costs to have a little bit of a high score. Am I the only guy that sees this? And Sees it as a problem? In the end I could be wrong. This is all my personal opinion. If it is a topic you want to talk about? Then please type something. (Just keep it "G" to "PG" rated please.) Good Luck To All. Peace. Well, I thought about this for a while. And I wondered why we had to simulate things when there was the real world, and I guess that it has to do with diversity. along with the other things that I've mentioned. for one, in Star Wars Battlefront, I can be an imperial scout on the warm planet of Tatooine. Then I can put in Mario Kart 64 and go round in crazy circular courts + banana peels abound. I can be. . . anything I want to be, all in a matter of seconds. Real life is outside of the fake world, obviously. To be the real character though, that is a life choice, not a brief way to blow of steam like a nice "rescue the captives" mission in 007. I also look at video games a lot different than most people. I evaluate them as art pieces and master pieces now rather than a product that I simply buy for the fun of it. Each game, was created by a group of individuals, and their characteristics are expressed in the awesome glory of each virtual world. by playing these games, we get to see reality from their perspective, albeit only slightly. It, like my Zelda hack, is truely beautiful thing to look back on. I think that it is only a problem if you live as if the game, IS your real life. It is not, it is a quick getaway to paradise to escape the pain of the real world, to relax and enjoy, to delve into the secrets of the Zelda universe, to endlessly theorize about why the Ikanites knew about the Triforce though they were in Termina, (and they their symbol appears in the forest temple). To compete about others. And to love, and muse over the characters and the struggles that those characters faced, like Link, when Ilia lost her memory, or was "tricked' into getting engaged with Princess Ruta. Or obliterating everything that hurt you, who's not your friend with Shadow. Shadow the Hedgehog. These things are not real life, but they are a part of it, and we should enjoy that- with our family, if, I may add. I love playing Minecraft and Mario Kart 8 with my family. It helps make real life that much better with something to enjoy with them. That is why I consider video games, a great asset to real life, heck, my dad can come home from work, and play me star wars, even though his muscles are tired. But he can't play football. Hence, I wouldn't do without them. I love video games. Well, I thought about this for a while. I love your post. It is beautiful and eloquent. Never change. (Please.) I am just challenging the price of a simulated experience versus actually having one. Would you believe... That once upon a time.... Video Games used to be 25 cents? I am not devaluing The Art in a video Game. I am not devaluing the Experience.... Much. What I am doing is challenging the current game price without the slightest incentive to Granted I may have outgrown video games. Or They may not be for people like me anymore. But It is about a persons incentive to have entertainment over actually getting something done. The Price used to be the other way around. To get nothing done was cheap. To get something done was costly. Today? Just the Polar Opposite. Thank you for your Post. I enjoy your feedback. Plus I may have left out particular sentences that would have given better direction on the topic of discussion. Thank you for pointing them out if I have done so. Good Luck To All. Peace. Well when inflation is considered, gaming is actually as cheap or in some cases cheaper than it has ever been and some people would rather not get shot, punched in the face or spend the rest of their lives in prison.
The real world does have it's benefits but the virtual world has it's upsides too. The real world does have it's benefits but the virtual world has it's upsides too. |

Thanks, I always like how your posts were poetic as well. I appreciate it. I agree with you. They do need to be more innovative. I am making my own PC game, and yes, it is retro themed, BUT It will have battles between allied AI, and enemy AI. It's a long talk, but basically, this is a sidescroling game with a pixelated, but modern feel to it about creatures in a parralel universe called R-bots. Soul filled Robots. 8 levels, a developing story about a resistance force of humans trapped in a city ruled by a tyrant. You get to know your team, you play as one particular R-bot, and this game will please when it comes to the story. I promise. The battling AI, and important hero characters helping you will be high points to the game as you perform geruilia warfare against the forces of Ohis Sama. I'm basically making a side scrolling shooter the way I think that it should be done- without horde fighting and enemy AI that sucks- 2 enemies on screen will kill you if you mess up. Unless they're just stationed guns. I had a zelda thread kinda like this, if you wanna see that, though it uses Twilight Princess as an example. Game need to be more innovative, and interesting. They are the crowning achievement of artwork in humanity, combining all the element of the stage, music, poetry, music, (a good rock song while fighting the final boss deamon is epic poetry if you ask me)k That, and the fast paced, epic, character developing stories of Sonic Adventure is what made it so amazing, even as a family ordeal that I enjoy to this very day. Where are the mature games that deviate from what EA wants and actually will do something epic like play this song and actually deviate from an arcade game style of play were one battle's hordes of enemies to rescue, yet another, princess? I would appreciate one, so I'm making my own. I totally hear what you'r saying Orion, Yeah, they need to make better games. I personally though do not find much value out of getting entertained. Only a small amount. So there fore, I walk off into the distance, and will return with a prize. A few fanfics, and my own game someday, perhaps that those older than me, or those who appreciate the work can enjoy. It just. . . is more interesting to make stories and Games than to play them. for, excuse this term, but, after being a "taker" for so long, I want to give something. And so, here it is, and I love it, I feel great. I spend 3 hours a day writing fanfiction chapters on the way to work and back. I love it. playing games? Not so much, but I don't exactly have any new ones either. I'm too focused on my own projects to really stop and have some fun, but I am very happy with what I've posted on Vizzed.
