I think my favorite dead video game
series would have to be Harry Potter. I enjoyed every game in the series and I can
still go back and play each one and not be bored. The pc version of the first
one would have to be my favorite though, with the GameCube version of the third
one being a close second. My favorite thing to do in these games is to just
explore and take in the environment. It’s colorful, interesting, and more often
than not well done despite being a movie/book adaptation with a set release
date (see Terminator or Super Man 64 for why game adaptations are often crap). So,
what’s your favourite dead game series?

Ehh, age of empires isn't coming back any time soon so that would be my vote, aoe 1 is irrelevant, aoe 2 was amazing great war game and was extremely fast paced, aoe 3 I've never played but it looks really fun. AOM Idk, it sounds cool ancient civilizations and religions.

Mine is The Legend of Hero's and Crash . The Legend of Hero's have some really good stories it's just you can sometimes really notice those typo's during some scenes, very unprofessional. Crash was a game I enjoyed playing when I was growing up, sadly times have changed and that didn't do any justice for our furry hero.

I've always been a fan of the Mega Man Battle Network/StarForce series. The games were very fun to play with imaginative levels and well-written plots. A great portable adventure. I don't know if the series is officially "dead" right now, but another game isn't likely.

Mine was the Harry Potter saga too. The only bad game was Order of the Pheonix, making it one of the most superior sagas. In fact, I just beat the 2nd game on PC for the umpteenth time.

Of the two game series that are "dead" and dearly missed for me would have to be:

Pocky and Rocky
.//Hack

Pocky and Rocky had two games on the SNES and one on the Gameboy Advanced. It's made by Natsume, the developer of Harvest Moon. While they keep putting out Harvest Moon games...I'd really like to see more Pocky and Rocky games.

.//Hack is a really fun game series on the PS2. They have two games with like 4 parts each. You have to buy each part of the game to make the entire game, lol, but it's worth it. I really liked the characters, and I got into the whole franchise of it, which helped to explain a lot more about The World and the characters in it. Right now I'm currently watching the newer anime series, .//Hack Quantum. I wish for Bandai Namco games to release some more .//Hack Games. When I play these or watch the anime, or read the book, I kind of wish there was a virtual reality MMO like this. lol. Except of course, not the part with the glitch monsters that put you into comas in rl.

Silent Hill
I have no idea if they plan to make anymore, but the series has been dead since SH4, and peaked at SH2.
Downpour showed promise, but then threw itself off a cliff.
I've personally given up on the silent hill franchise, which is sad because SH2 still remains one of the only games to legitimately creep me out to the point that I needed to take a break.

Earthbound/Mother series. It's super unlikely it's ever coming back but, the Wii U release did well in sales. The humor and setting really puts it apart from other RPG's and gives some relief during huge sessions of grinding and hard parts of the game . I also love the cartoon art style and how well all the environments are put together. There have been some interviews asking for Mother 4 but Nintendo still always says no . Even if it did come out, I would assume you would have to import if you live in the USA .

I have two. The first one is Double Dragon (The NES versions) and Golden Axe for the Sega Master System and later, the Sega Genesis. I have been playing them for well over 20 years now and I still find them extremely addictive. Running left to right and beating up on your hapless foes is always a fun way to kill a few hours.

I'll say the Harry potter saga too, BUT, I only really liked the second and third games. Those games were pillars in my childhood and still enjoy them today. The other games, however, range from meh to terrible.

My favorite dead game series would have to be Banjo Kazooie, very fun game that is insanely fun.  It has a lot to collect and a lot more just to do in general.  Also another one of my favorite dead game franchises would have to be the Mother series.  It also has a lot to do and has an amazing story and fun game play mechanics.

I have two game series and they would be namely the Mother/Earthbound series and the Megaman Battle Network all the games on both series were great works and I wish they could continue for a bit longer as it would be a joyous day for fans.
