My first review! Yay! Here goes nothing!
Story (8/10):
This story strays away from Sora, mostly because he's still having his memory restored by Namine. That's right, not a step foward for the story, but backwards. You know Roxas, Sora's Nobody? (Nobodies are people without hearts.) You play as him. Axel, the Bad Boy from #2, is Roxas' best friend, and also a new face arives in the Organization (a group of Nobodies) that he becomes friends with, too. It's not a perticularly suspensful story, but it's not bad.
Graphics (10/10):
Simply put, the graphics are amazing. Perhaps some shining could've been used to make it look professional, but it's by far up in the ranks of Call Of Duty for DS graphics.
Gameplay (8/10):
Kingdom Hearts' old Adventure-Style wander around and explore is gone. In it's place is a slightly less fun staple mission gameplay. Although it's fun, and it offers time to go above objectives for more items, it gets very repetetive and makes you miss the old Kingdom Hearts. What I found interesting was a new "Panel" system, where you have to equip the items, abilities, and even levels you want to take on your next mission.
Controls (6/10):
As with the story, nothing special here. Some buttons are action heavy, like the Y button doing both the Dodge Roll and Guard, but with enough practice that problem will go away. The way the Touch Screen is integrated is a little disapointing, creating a camera movement that is never used.
Overall (9/10):
Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days is a must have for DS if you like Kingdom Hearts or RPG's. Otherwise, it's awfully steep for a DS game at $34.99, when you can go buy TWO good used DS games at Game Stop for the same price.
