I'm more of a all offence kind of battler, I'll use a sleep or confusion move if I have it, but other than that it's all offence. What about you? how do you battle?

pokemaster87 : I absolutely agree with you. I'm the exact same way. Offense, offense, offense. And nothing kicks butt more than Alakazam's and/or Espeon's special attack. I also agree with using sleep moves. I usually keep Hypnosis as one of the moves for Alakazam.

Few examples.. If I have Machop I teach him let's say Cross Chop and Low Sweep, so only 2 offensive moves and then of course Focus Energy so I can make some Critical Hits now and then and the fourth would be Foresight so I wont miss my attacks and have some advantage against ghosts.. And if I use Bugs, Grass or Poison types I like to pick some moves that paralyzes and poisons my opponents and of course something that power ups my moves or lowers enemies defence..

There are few Pokémon's that I like to teach them only offensive moves and one good example is OCTILLERRY ! Because it can learn various different type moves which makes it very suitable against many opponents.. Even though it has his weaknesses his moves packs some power. I teached Aurora Beam, Gunk Shot, Psybeam and Octazooka so it was able to use Ice, poison, psychic and water moves. Very good against elite four.

So anyways... Basic idea was 2 offensive moves and 2 moves that does not necessarily deal damage but lowers/raises stats or gives some other advantages to you or your whole team.

Straight up attack. I hate using moves that deal with accuracy or attack or speed. The only time I do not use a straight up attack is sometimes a sleep powder or a poison powder if I am having a hard time against my opponent.

I Battle with just brute strength. My teams that I use in every pokemon games just have really powered up moves, and no moves that raise stats or anything like that. My darkri from Pokemon diamond is the one exception, which has dark voice to put it to sleep and can use dream eater and moves like that.

I don't know if the term is appropriate for Pokemon, but I usually take a tankers approach.  I'm not a fan of any moves that cause conditions, and the only moves I really like beyond causing physical damage.... are healing moves.

I really take an offensive approach when battling. Usually I only know the most powerful moves, whatever does the most damage. I don't bother with status conditions or anything like that. The only exception to this is that my Mewtwo in Pokemon Leaf Green knows Recover, and I'll admit that that move comes in handy. But for the most part, I am all about offense.

I am a less strategy maker and more attacking with the rare stat raising since I fail at strategy making. When I do have a strategy with some help I stick more with stat raising since that is usually the team makeup and then all out offense.

I like to think of basic strategies and use Pokémon that people don't really use. I never like to buffer up my Pokemons. I like slow down my opponents by giving them a status condition at times. I tend to attack at the last minute.

I go all offense unless I have a move that will definitely inflict a status condition, like Sleep Powder. I think all stat-changing moves are useless and for the most part status-condition-inflicting moves are useless to me too. The worst moves out there are Detect and Protect, though, since they give literally no advantage unless your Pokémon is holding a healing item or something. The all-offense approach has never let me down.

If I'm having a particularly hard time with a certain battle I strategize like mad, though. I plan for items and things like that that I wouldn't normally use.

I like a lot of big bulky pokemon but I also like very powerful pokemon. I always go in with great stats and stuff unless I am just heading through the main story because in actual battles you need more than just attacking moves to win. I also like buffing up my pokemon with dragon dance or stalling with toxic or leech seed to win so I guess I am a mixed kind of battler.

It depends.

In-game, there is no real point in not taking the full offensive route. Trainers are usually very weak, so I don't see the use in tanking.
Competitively, I am a more defensive person. Of course, every good team needs a lead/anti-lead, and a physical- and special sweeper. For the other three, I tend to run a physical wall, a special wall, and a stalling pokemon, with good bulk and recovery.

My logic has always been: If the enemy can't do damage to me, I am in no danger of fainting.

I run what I call "rush teams" Basically volt-turn with 2 choice sweepers, a mixed tank, and a revenge killer, does wonders in UU, but OU doesn't take this strategy kindly.

I am the kind of battler that likes to hit fast and hit hard, and I breed my pokemon to do just that, I try to get all the right IVs and then combine that with proper EV training and a move set that suits their strengths. I am not really one for setup moves like rain dance, stealth rock or spikes, I mainly try to get status conditions like paralysis, confusion, or worst of all, poison....and then I go in for the kill.

Of course, I try to vary my team, have a good lead as well as a defensive wall and sweepers, or even a revenge kill pokemon at a last resort because you never know when you might need one. I also like to have pokemon that can stall and heal themselves...either with rest, or leech seed or whatever. So yeah, my strategy can sometimes vary.

I'm more offence kind of trainer. I want to quickly beat you and get it over with. But that doesn't mean I don't use defense attacks

I am a play-it-safe Pokémon battler. I do nothing, but hope for the best. Also, I try to use trickery at some point, but it never works out and I end up having my best Pokémon on my team. Reveal what you read here and I will tear your tonsils out!

I'm more of an offensive battler, but I have a strategy. Instead of having a mono-type team, I try to get as many as I can. I will also try to give my Pokémon a variety of moves so that they can take down an enemy faster. (Like teaching mud-shot to a water type so they can eliminate electric types faster). 95% of the time, my way works for me.

Of course I just sweep my way through the main game, but when facing people I prefer to throw my opponents off balance. I'll have a mix of power, tanks, and disrupts. .I keep changing pace on them till they don't know what I'm about to do, and when they start playing it safe, I start hitting them with my hard hitters.
