As I said in my Sorcerer's Stone for GameCube review, Chamber of Secrets was made in 2002, and Sorcerer's/Philosopher's (Depending on If you live in America or England/Ireland/Scotland.)Stone was made in 2003,although SS/PS takes place chronologically before COS, making SS/PS a Prequel. so today I'm going to take a look at It's Older Brother.
If you have recently played Sorcerer's Stone, you will realize that this game's graphics look a little poor. although this game is older, It is only by 1 year, so it gets a mediocre score.
Remember when I said in my last review about how the Music was great, but the voice acting wasn't?? well in COS,the wonderful soundtracks are there, and also, there was the 1 thing that was missing when It came to Sound: Good voice acting. The characters sound more like their movie counterparts, and also there Is also 1 extra thing added: Personality.
This game just isn't as addicting as I found SS to be. there are much more side quests and stealth, but It also means there are less spell challenges, which are really fun in my opinion.
The story Is great, just like the original. I do not want to spoil much of the story though, so all I will say is that, Harry's school is in danger, and things like paralysation and vandalism on the walls with blood are the typical cycles at Hogwarts.
This game does not offer as much, because there are less spell challenges, and although you now get 8 spells, 5 of them will be obtained in night quests or In the Tutorial Levels, (The Burrow and Diagon Alley) but here are your spells though. Flipendo Makes a Return, along with Lumos, but the Gargoyle gimmick is gone, and also Alohomora, Diffindo, and Incendio return. and here are the 3 new Spells: Expelliarmus: This time, instead of the disarming spell on the Ps1 version, It deflects your opponent's spells. Skurge: Cleans up A big wall of Snot, or known as ectoplasm. Avifors: Turns statues into birds. There Is MUCH more stealth, and I mean so much It's not even funny. by the time you finish the game, you will feel blessed If you win the game, because to win the game, you have to earn the most points, and when you are caught In stealth, you lose points.
This game overall Isn't that hard, I beat it in a day and a half, compared to Sorcerer's stone, which took me 3 days. and I didn't even play 24/7
In the end, It seemed like this game had much more to offer. In the end, this game Is still good though. I rate it a 8.5
