Who needs Hyper Beam when you got the almighty Splash attack or if you train your Magikarp diligently you can even get the rumored Flail
 if Magikarp for whatever unthinkable reason is close to fainting in battle.

Okay but seriously yeah I think it could be cool even though it would make no sense whatsoever and would just be a troll move from gamefreak but in that case why did they invent Stunfisk or make Golurk be able to fly... I just can't believe that everybody at gamefreak would be like yeah there's totally nothing weird with that all nope.

Imagine Magikarp in the anime being all like IMMA FIRIN MAH LAZER.

Nope. I actually do not like the attack Hyper Beam because it has to reload. I tend to avoid teaching it to my Pokemon, and I never use it unless it is on my opponent's last Pokemon. So no, I would not like Magikarp with Hyper Beam.

Like tgags said, it has to reload, however, that would be good. It would Make Magikarp seem much more powerful, but then it would also bring it back down again with a slight weakness as to not make it too powerful.

I don't want magikarp to teach hyper beam it has only 5 pp and it reloads from time to time in battling. I don't want to use magikarp to be my pokemon because it is a weak pokemon and only uses a splash the first time you meet and when you're catching it. But I will like it from the time it evolved into gyarados that is a stong pokemon and a dragon type that I know a strongest type in all pokemon.

Does Magikarp even have enough Hp to surive the first attack from the opponent ? I have no idea cause I haven't used Magikarp in a long time. Why would I even need to ? I don't use Gyrados either. I don't think Magikarp is fast at all either. Would only go first if Trick Room is in play. I think Hyper Beam is an extreme move to give to an fish with no brains
