ToonTown Rewritten is basically old ToonTown coming back, but not from Disney, instead from a couple of students around the world. It is currently open to everyone, but in a "Semi-Open" Beta system. The system is really a queue where you wait in line before you can play the game. The bad side is that waits can be really long (up to 100 hours). However, it's typical that the estimated time isn't actually that time. Most of the time, your queue cuts down in time amount. You have to keep the queue tab open, and if you close the tab or disconnect from the Internet, you have 15 minutes to get back to queue or your spot will be lost.

I'm in queue right now, as of this post it's 65 hours and 25 minutes left until I can log in. I really don't like the queue system, but I can't wait until it's officially released and you can join anytime.

Oh, I almost forgot, there are beta keys you can achieve by doing toontasks in game. If you get to Daisy's Garden, there's a chance you can get a beta key by completing certain toontasks. With a beta key, you can join the game at anytime, and you might receive extra to give to your friends.

Is anyone else excited about ToonTown coming back? ToonTown was basically my childhood. I used to play it a lot. I can't wait to relive my memories!

I grew up playing ToonTown. It was 2006 when I first started playing, if I remember right. It's what initially introduced me to the internet. Before ToonTown, the only thing I ever did on the computer was playing The Sims Deluxe Edition.

It's no question why Disney decided to close ToonTown. They said that they "wanted to focus on other projects," but we all know it was because of the "hacking" problem (where only like 6 people actually hacked it, everyone else just copied codes). Me being the hacking nerd I am, I was one of the very first hackers. But I quit because I figure it's really stupid. It's a kids game, why ruin it? Hopefully no one will hack ToonTown Rewritten.

Those were the good days back when I played ToonTown. I had an unimaginably large clan called the "ToonTown Glitch Clan," and I found a large amount of glitches by myself and with the clan (which became unimpressive when people started hacking. Everyone thought I was a hacker when I did my glitches).

I had so many hours of fun playing ToonTown. I met so many kind people, so many new friends. It was such a happy game until people started hacking it. Like I said, I really hope no one hacks ToonTown rewritten. I probably won't download/play ToonTown Rewritten, but I might just for nostalgia. But wouldn't it take just a few weeks to set it up? All you need are the original ToonTown files, then you just need to modify them to use a different server.

Infomaniac : This is a good thread for you to post in. Trying to catch your attention.

I preach ya brothers/sisters, Toontown was my first online game. I got through the ins and outs of Mickey Mouse's place (i forgot some names k?), explored all corners of Toontown, and visited the 4 cogs bases. I would usually hang out in Donalds Dreamland waiting for someone to come by, then follow him and try and help him if he needed help or wanted to take back a building. Well, I did stop because I never found as much time to play and stuff, but it was fun as my introduction to turn-based rpg's. I actually didn't know it was shut down for a long time, but hopefully these guys can pull off the "sequel" of the game.

I remember toontown....I played it too, but that was long ago. But I heard that it was canceled during the new process? So they are actually continuing with it? I'm a bit confused here. As some said it wasn't going to come back, but you are saying it is.....

TheFadedWarrior :  There's been some glitches now and then, but it's not the actual ToonTown client  they're focused on.

They're testing the servers to see how they do with many people in one place. Many people are in the beta, and if the servers crash(they did), they would fix it so it wouldn't happen when it was officially released.
