Growing up we always got out of School around the middle of June. Depending on the rare occasion where we had a ton of snow days or not. Then we would be on Summer break until the day after labor day in September. Always seemed to make more sense to me that way. Never made sense that kids went back to school for a week then got a 3 day weekend right away for Labor day.

Let me try to see if I can remember....it was mid July and it always ended with a pantomime it was really cool back then. Then we would start school like...on the 6th or 7th of Sept or the 5th. Some days at school for the preparing summer holidays was awesome.
